I don't think there is a problem with the yield on the KC it is a bigger hitter than some stuff.. I know you can get near 5oz of a plant.. I didn't but it is a keeper.. A head stash,,

It smells of nothing I ever smoked before and has a good look to it and has a Indica/Afghani/Skunk type buds.. not a sativa..

The trick I observed and used was to pinch and pinch and pinch at the top to get the thing to branch then some serious lighting a big pot 20+ ltrs and a long veg supercropping and pinching,, I ended up with no cola but nice well formed buds up the top and at least 7 nice branches streaching fron the base to 3/4 of the way up and a few other mid branches I just wish I had used a bigger pot,,

Good summary of the KC mate, I think you summed her up pretty well.

It's never gonan grow big buds but the buds she does grow are always rock hard so the key is to get as many budsites as possible. his can be tricky given her lack of branching, so it's all about how you prepare the plant in veg imho, needs to be trained/pruned into some bushiness before going into flower.

Most of the JLo F1 phenos have been much more branchy than the KC, so there's definitely scope for improvement in that area - and at least two are very close to the KC in other areas, so this issue will be solved, mark my words...;)

I have some J-Lo, they will be popped shortly alongside the half dozen remaining KC S1s. J-Lo I have is KC x MoFlo backcrossed to the KC once, right?

KC + more branchiness = plant that would always have a place in my garden!

If you've got the backcrossed KC seeds, then technically yes, though those JLos are the V1 KC X Flo - it was the original first-gen Flo male used with that one, whereas the current batch I'm working with are KC X f3 Flo (or MoFlo).

So I have KC x (KC x Flo) with the pollen source being an original DP Flo?

And you are working on KC x MoFlo, is there any reason you chose to work on KC x MoFlo rather than the BX line I have?

indifferent - yep, that's the correct equation. The reason I used the f3 MoFlo male this time around was partly as the first batch was a little hermie-prone, and other crosses I'd made with that male had shown similar issues occasionally. The f3 male had already shown itself to be a reliable Purple Thai-like pheno, so I figured make a new batch, see what the differences were, and if better, stick with that one.

As for the other question, I'm more intrigued by the combination of KC and Flo than trying to get a seed version of the original. If that was a lucky pheno, it may not be perfectly reproducible anyway, and I like the idea of Flo adding a little more crispness/trippiness to the effects.

I still have seven of the original V1 JLo seeds though, should I ever feel like resurrecting it, or maybe even crossing it with a new one...;)

I know the chunk will add lots of resin to the KC....but where the hell on those buds could you put more trichomes? lol they're absolutely covered!

Sounds like an awesome cross!
