personally i think MG soil is Crap so are the MG ferts thier missing micro/macro nutrients
home depot supersoil is better. i only use fox farm ocean forrest organic soil and organic ferts not FF line

FFOF soil bag is 15$ where i live and well worth the money spent

ive been usen FFOF soil 3 yrs now love it :rasta:

i grow some crazy chit in 1 gal bags

Yeah but fox farms requires additional nutrients...MG doesn't...why spend 30 bucks for fox farms and then have to buy extra fertilizer?? Waste of Money...

I use the MG potting soil exclusively with my clones. The soil is a little hot but I find that the clones take to it and start bursting upward faster than with any other soil I have tried. I use BlackGold soil for larger plants and flowering but the MG is the way to go to get your babies up and goin. I do add perlite and a small amount of the Black Gold to reduce the heat of the straight nutes of MG. By the time you are in flower the small amount of MG soil is not an issue in flushing or my nute schedule.

I been using the MG seed starter mix. It's less chunky and is very light and fuffy. No chunky bark...doesn't pack down as much..

I still use 20% perlite and flush before starting the seeds...:)

stuff works well mixed 50/50 with perlite, as others have mentioned. the fungus gnat problem is VERY real, have tried topping w/2 inches of perlite, sand, everything but plaster of paris. gonna try sealing it from top with saran wrap & open-cell foam(for air) & bottom water ala Earthbox next time. friend uses nothing else with AFs, never feeds, just waters for whole cycle. works for her...
