Man I keep having trouble with Internet. Now modem isn't working. I took all kind of pics for ya an I gettin mad I can't get online except on phone. I must go somewhere to load these. I think 3 k on lr5 is the way to go. Use ur hoods. U alreadyown them and summer is coming. Fuck that heat. The extra lumens open bulb puts out are lost somewhat having to keep distance to not burn with 1ks. With hood can get closer and cheaper to run fan for lights vs cooling hot ass room with humming ac constantly. Not cost effective for budget grower IMO. U can pull 6 plus with the mover cooled lights n co2nin 10x10. That is plenty for whAt u pay into it. If you didn't have the hoods I would maybe say give a try but cooled is better. Ur room will stay plenty warm for the co2. And mover is better than a flip cause ur sweet spot is increased to the length of the bulbs run.
My 11x 12 room is completely covered by light because of mover and I have never seen such happy plants on ends and edges of growing area. And all the lower shit gets lit as the lights angles change. It is truely amazing to step in my room and have complete coverage

Enough ranting outta me sorry. I am just super convinced these were the best upgrades I could have made for the $.

Have fun with all that trimming. Is always so much work for that week or 2

I used the horti blue and my plants grew a lot thicker under the t5s. I think there over priced but I do use there super hps for veg and flower and they work great. I use to just get the cheap 400 mh bulbs and they have always worked great. If ya want 2 horti blue bulbs there just sitting in a box not being used with the rest of the shit I didnt need.
If you can stagger them 1ks and go vert give it a shot I have been dieing to try it out. Dwc all the way. You wont see faster growing plant in anything else.
thanks bro, that was exactly what I wanted to hear, as I gotta pick up a veg bulb in the next couple of days this ones been burnin for 2+years with very few breaks. and cheapo MH got a much better price tag.

Man that mommy list is looking fantastic and at the same time very similar to mine. Needless to say I can see you have excellent taste;)
thanks bro! I just can't wait to give 'em all a go....I need another room or something.

You have seen my 10x10 burning 2K in flower, a light mover might be the same as my flip flop. Can you really handle 3Kw heat production? If so moving 3K will make HUGE, HUGE nugs.

Peace, :joint:

I should be able to handle the heat just fine, with a 10k btu a/c keeping temps at around 83F for the co2. I'll also have the office on the night shift to help compensate for extreme temps. but it's a lot more tolerable here in the summer then it is in your neck of the woods. I HOPE, HOPE so my man. I'm leaning to believe that the screen has been a bit counterproductive, or my methods of training immediately after flip, branches that should have been dominate were lost in the depth of the canopy and didn't produce what they were capable of IMHO. on a lighter note snodawg's(2) came down this morning...I was actually on my way out the door to hit the store to grab some cofee before trimming starts. livin' the dream, it's nice.

thats whats up, I've been sort of leaning in the direction of keeping the setup more similar to hone in MY skills to max out a setup before switching things up, gotta walk before you run. but 3k on movers does sound mighty fine and I love the sound of a six pack, time for me to print up your h&g nute schedule and stop being a cheap ass...I'm sure once I get a little sample of what it produces I'll be sold ;) trimmin won't be over for a another month and a half, got the semi-perpetual goin on then it'll be a while before I got to break out the scissors again, next round will be pk and 707 and possibly a few wildcards. peace

I cant say enough good about the SpinPro, I still hand trim a few tops but they turn out very similar, the trick is not to over do it. I just ordered a 5x5x7 tent, a 9"x38" carbon filter, 4 hanging dry racks and I already have the 6" fan and speed controller. I have a cool dark room that should make for the perfect drying area. I remember when I though you were done when ya could grow a nice crop, Thats when the work starts. Karma, One Love

straight up, turns into work real quick doesn't it? my harvests to date have been too inadequate to justify using one of the machines, however there's always the future(at least I hope so)

Just skimmed through all 28 pages, nice thread... good info and sweet progression mate. I see you are moving away from the flip flop to movers or just stationary but lights on continually throughout 12 hour period.

I was wondering what lighting schedule you are using for the flip flop? Kinda considering experimenting with a 2 x600 flip flop 2 hours on 2 off. I guess it's really like an electrical light mover, cept with rails lights moves every few sec/mins or whatever. A dewd named heath robinson yielded about 30oz (1.88 pounds) in a scrog off of 2x600's I think he used 6 hours on 6 off.

Very interested to hear your findings with the flip flop. I can see the reasoning that 4 lights on 12 hours will yield better though

I have them flipping every 2hrs, I'm pretty sure my boy HS runs a 3hr flip, I'm not sure what flip time would be most benificial, but one thing I would say is allow 5minutes btween flips to allow the bulbs to reach full intensity

and on that note I'm about to smoke the joint the cops just took, and gave back to me....funny shit really, he took it, verified my med status then was like "Im going to put your doobie on the dash, right in front of the wheel so you can see it as soon as you get back into your car" wrote me up for 65 in a 50,but I was doing 90. I told him my girl called and told me she was getting ready for me. he was in a FORD FUSION wtf?!? anyways the cops out here seem almost afraid of medical mj, we(the patients) keep on beating the cases, and cops are getting punished by their departments for making mistakes. at least thats what he was saying. he asked me if I was over my limit, I told him people v. kelley took sb420 out of effect, to which he obliged. anyways score one more for CA med patients, I'm gonna spark this bad boy up and celebrate!

also note: I'm in the IE, not neccesarily L.A. in terms of being liberal

I flip 2 hours on 2 hours off, I do try to get the 5 min overlap. I think the 4Kw would produce too much heat, so I have to stay with the flop at my desert abode.

It is nice to see the pigs running scared in CA!

Mini Split is a type of AC with the unit outside and DUCTLESS blowers inside. I am looking into getting a 3 way mini split (veg, flower, flower) ;)

Well the UCgrow guy is just very passionate about Current Culture. I can't begrudge him that; however I am passionate about upgrading and getting better, so nothing is perfect and improvement can be found everywhere. UCG just took it a little personal, but at least someone for CC is working this board to support buyers of their product.

Peace, :joint:

Thanks, thats exactly what I'm looking for my 2 flower rooms:tiphat:, tired of all the heat I need to vent in the summer running inside ac's

thats definately the biz ssa, and the price isn't all that much considering the necessity of it. apparently my shop only carries 4' and 6' movers, and since they hook me up at near cost I'm gonna have to go with the 6', he quoted me 110 a piece out the door. just met a glass blower thats doin up a super sick heady bub with glass on glass pull out bowl for me, it'll be done in time for 4/20, anyways I was over at his shop earlier watching him start on my piece and turns out hes got a nice co2 gig for sale with 2 100gal tanks controllers yada yada for WAAYYY cheap, and I love a bargain.

Let Mr. Glass blower know he may have a few more commissions after 4/20 and you show off the piece. Bkind hooked me up with Gaucho, but he has fallen off the ICmag radar and I could use some more custom work!

The 100 gal tanks are the huge restaurant jobbies (4' - 5' style)? I'd love to have huge tanks, mini-split (so no need to vent) and CO2 tanks on controllers! When is the office going CO2?

Peace, :joint:

time to post the powerbox i made. i basically looked at the powerbox being sold and did a custom layout with my needs in mind. and there is room for expansion if necc.(only running 4 of the 8 outlets for lights)

50 amp line to the room - 110v trigger cable to standard digital timer w/ overheat shut off
i explain layout
left and right side recepticles are 110v- each has an inner and outer receptical. the inner plugs are constant hot on both sides, while the outer set is on the timer.
reasoning is some of my 110v equipment needs to run only with lights(co2 burner n monitor, 10" fan for lights, mover ect..)
the hot recepticals are for the in room scrubber fan, and veg room. a veg room timer will take care of its own timing needs in the constant hot plug. i installed them on each side for convenience and cleanliness of dressing in cables. i am a perfectionist with wires lol
below the box are the 8 220v plugs i put 2 on each side cause the breakers are on diff sides as well. the way they are split inside makes this half the load or 50% capacity. keeps it nice i guess.
now if you look at the left and right side of the box u see 2 big black wires coming out of it.
- the right side is the trigger cable that engages the relays and lights on....
- the left side is the main power cord running to a 50 amp recepticle and that has its own dedicated line of course. that was the first work i did on the room was run the power!

hope this helps with ur build maybe-
picture.php

and the trigger cable to the overheat senser to the timer on its own power source just in case. i coulda used a hot outlet on the box itself

and the dedicated line for power to the box
picture.php

hope that helps

now the mover. i just throw up the pics and u can ask whatever if ya need to. but just see it. it may make ur mind up!~
keep in mind that i custom hung my lights using a 1x2 and u can see it in a shot. that is why there is a Y seperating my duct. 10x8x8 in Y and one in the attic attached to 10"fan
nice n level is a must

12 ft of rail

how i hung the lights.
this pic was days ago also. things are crazy in there now

the burner n monitor-

also just read ur post-
nice score on the tanks deals are always good
nice on the piece too what a day for you

the mover though, my shop ordered it from the nationalgardenwholesale catalouge n was here i 2 days. i would go that route if want the extra length.a 6 ft would have never worked for me needing 12 ft. i spent like 550 for the mover n add a bar kit and extra 4 ft of rail. that is as cheap as a good ballast and hood and horti but adds way more that 1 light could ever and is cheaper to run than a light also.

i need some new glass now damn. my plain ol bong hits nice, maybe just a sick ash catcher? one can dream!

DOPE setup!! so do you have all the lights on the same mover? basically a moving frame? so for a 10'x10' ideally I'd want about 7' of travel on the rails? sorry for all the questions, I'm just at a point in my design where I am stuck, and since I haven't seen the movers in action it makes it that much harder to visualize how things will be laid out. I also picked up a green air products mcc-1 microClimate controller from the blower for $100, theyre over $700 new!

I'll be picking up my new bub on monday, I'll snap some pics and post it up...this dude's livin out of his shop right now, and hes got plenty of time to work on more heady pieces.

as long as everything goes cool, escrow will be closing next week. so it's time to start building, the office will be going co2 next round, which will hopefully be in 12/12 before the end of april, theyre already vegged big enough to go...it's now just a matter of space and timing my move/build. one of the tanks if full as well, the large tanks make bottled co2 more practical, (I might need to look into buying a beater truck) I really didnt like the thought of having to exchange tanks every 4 days.
