Awww chucky :)........to steal a line from my goof freind Texas Kid......grow big or go home.......;)
:D
nice if tk still @ ic... @ a few other tree gardeners....
some use same method...no air stone... in house~ware, elsewhere.;)

nothing like veg until stalk size of spice bottle (min) to pop can, before flower.

seems same tree gardenrs hold same cult-like :scripture: on techniques... though, is really just :clock watch: until grrlz get big...
whether hydroton (Teresa), perlite (~SYK~), coco (BlueHaze), or water (Hydrosun)... or kid pools (TK);)

:thank you:for keeping visuals of proper trees here @ icmag...

keep having fun & enjoy your garden!:ying:

Really nice work Treesa, some great humongous buddage there in a very large stylee !

Do you not get problems with that bright green hose ? it looks like PVC not uPVC - is there any slime building up in there ? I was always taught to avoid PVC hose and use the hard black plastic uPVC..... yours don't look like it is suffering :)

In the one room flowering it doesn't look as if you have any white walls. It's just another part of the basement. I mean we can see your hot water heater or whatever that is. Is the thinking that whatever light would be reflected at that distance is so weak that it's not worth worrying about?

They are weeds; don't need all the pampering the guy at the hydro shop would like you to believe. I for one love the simplicity of bare bulbs in a basement done this many times. Ahh the memorys...Reflective materials are great and can really improve low light problems but if the plants have enough light they will never know the difference. Cheers,
HM

PS Teresa do you have screens on your bulkhead fittings? I'm trying this type system and I just had a fitting plugged with roots and a resulting mess. ever had this problem?
Thanks HM

As I've learned about how plants see light (re: photons) and the distance light has to travel, I've started to wonder about the reasoning behind reflective material that is more than say two feet from from the light.

For example, if the PPFD of a 400w HPS lamp and reflector combination at 18 inches is 200, than is there a gain by reflecting anything farther away than that?

maybe, get the light-plant as close as possible, w/out burning...
5-30cm. maybe, w/ constant air movement over+in canopy @ >25-30*c temps...

move light/planty, 3cm apart @ a moment, if need.

Week 5 update.........

Thing's are moving really slow this grow.......a few day's after last update.......the blower on my furnace decided to go on the blink :(.........so needless to say the basement is nothing short of a cold room........poor poor plant's :comfort:...........for obvious reason's i can't have it fixed till the basement is empty...........
