HURRRR GOES!! (MY first grow)

I agree with mdcana, I wood put some more of the hydroton to raise your girls above the drip ring.. get you some quality nutes. I use the advanced nutrients. I would recommend any nutes but GH. not a big fan of the GH, they are looking good. when mixing you nutes just follow the directions and run them a little weaker. Example I mix for seven gallons and will add 2 more gallons to allow for fluctuation in ppms. I mix for 1200ppms and will dilute to about 1100 and monitor from their. It is good to get you a ph and ppm meter. Ph is a must though. Remember a little goes a long way, you don't want to burn your girls. good luck I'll be watching and will try to help as much as I can along with the others. keep up the good grow, were rooting for ya..

The reason I recommended the 600w is because you have two sources of lights meaning you can have more plants in an chosen grow area. you can put your lights closer to the plant with a 600w.

I know it seems I'm hypin the 600w even though I'm rockin 6 1000w lights for flower and 1000w for veg. , but for a smaller grow they are more appropriate in my opinion.

Also, how many circuits you you have in your Apt./House are you going to do any wiring? Having 1 600w light on 1 circuit and the other 600w on another circuit will be less load on any one circuit. BTW 1 1000w on a normal house circuit will work, but I would feel safer(not burning the house down) with 2 circuits to play with.
just my 2 cents

Additionally, when your checkin out seeds at different websites they usually have the yield amount for a particular strain (i.e. Sour Diesel will yield 400grams per square meter)
yield amounts are calculated with 600w lights. Not all the time, but it is the industry standard for calculating yield amounts

If you have any questions let me know. I've subscribed to your thread, cause I'm interested in your progress.. It's always good to see new growers starting...

Just remember to keep it LOW KEY and you will do fine. Growing is addicting big time!!!:plant grow: :plant grow: :plant grow:

Hi Everyone!

I know I've been away from the forums for a little while, but I've been real busy with work and the garden. I think you'll all be proud of the hard work I've put it. I'm going to take some pics real soon.

I wanted to thank everyone that helped me out to reach this far...it's amazing how friendly and helpful you all are!

I took Txsbigtymer and mdcanna's advice about putting more hydroton to raise the girls above the drip ring and I'm using mostly organic nutes as I am a big organic fan...

-Upinthecut thanks for the advice with the lights, I definitely took your advice to use two circuits as the one that I was using kept tripping, until I read your post.

I ran into some problems along the way and I lost several girls, but I think for my first time I'm doing okay.

pics are coming, so stay tuned.
