uk security-babylon loft scam

Hi Guys
here's a thing-my friend had a visit from the council recently regarding loft insulation. They are doing a drive to get everybody energy efficient and all that. Two council officials came to the door-except one of them was a plain clothes copper (oooer!)-pretending to be a council bod. They asked if he had loft insulation and when he said that he did they still wanted to go up there to give him 'some advice'. He said it was not convienent and they went away. They were not targetting him (although he's got 6 lamps going) because they did the whole street-and the next street. Neither are these council houses-they are private houses in suburbia.
So-clearly the cops are using underhand tactics to check out grows in lofts.
No big deal but good to know exactly what the forces of law and order are up to, eh?

stay safe out there kids-

Are you sure it wasn't somebody trying to sell your mate loft insulation? I think most growers get a bit paranoid about people at the door, and that's before they start smoking the stuff, add some ganja to the equation and every knock on the door is the police.

I just think that it's so unlikely that plain clothes police are going to randomly knock on doors on the off chance that they might have something illegal in the attic and be prepared to spend time giving people advice about loft insulation if they don't. If they want to get into somebody's house all they have to do is say that they could smell cannabis outside on the street and get a warrant.

Dont be so quick to judge, Ive sen other signs of this too. In our area the fire dept has been knocking on everyone's doors trying to gain access to do a "fire safety check". In this check they go around every power point in the house looking for fire hazzards.
Whats more there is always 2 of them, and split up one keeping the occupant talking while the other routes around their home.

no it was a council bod and a copper -100% ID on the cop-this guys not para-he's streetwise and smart. We already know that cops and council dudes work together on some of the big estates to rumble grows because the council has a legal obligation to ensure that illegal shit isn't carried out in their properties-what really surprised me is that it's a private house-and apparently totally random

Great information Eddie, they've been on the prowl in my area too. I wasn't in and they left their business card. It's definitely suspicious as they are offering the insulation service for next to nothing, so they must be making the money somewhere else. More than likely by tricking people into consenting their entry and then snooping around until they find something they can 'charge' you for. Dirty...

Insulation is a national scheme aimed at reducing carbon emissions and reducing fuel costs. There is no major conspiracy attached... although as Eddie highlights they could use this as another means of gaining entry.

Nice one Eddie

'Snooper Army' info:

20,000 UK Council Officers Can Enter Homes Without Warrants
According to research conducted by Big Brother Watch in the UK, each local council has an average of 47 workers who can enter people's homes without a warrant. According to the Home Office, this is based on 1,043 laws.
The laws range from checking to see if houseplants are infested with parasites, to the height of garden hedges and checking the energy ratings on refrigerators. They also include checking to see if people are being hypnotised illegally in the home.

As many as 20,000 town hall snoopers have assumed powers to enter people's homes without a warrant and search for information, a survey revealed last night.

The research details for the first time how a raft of intrusive laws has allowed council staff to barge into homes and businesses uninvited.

The bureaucrats are benefiting from the 1,043 state powers of entry in primary and secondary legislation – more than 400 of which have been created by Labour.

These include checking for fridges which do not have the correct eco-friendly energy rating, making sure a hedge is not too high and inspecting a property to ensure 'illegal or unregulated hypnotism' is not taking place.

F the government their telling us some blatant lies... trying to roll on people like nazis in the dead of night! Just to make sure they aren't being hypnotised... ?!?!?!?!?!?! Get the **** outta town!!

This is the best thing to do ...

RE: checking to see if houseplants are infested with parasites

Does this mean the local council are running a free spider-mite removal service ?

It's from the Mail so probably a hysterical over-reaction/lie. No doubt immigrants are to blame probably...

What's from the Mail? That's real,, unfortunately.. no hype involved

Plus. Immigrants have NOTHING to do with it,, so let's not use them as scapegoats again!

This is purely about fascists/nazis wanting to control people and their life! and their plants!

its about the ongoing removal of rights, replaced with state priviledges, and conditioning towards greater state dependancy.....

"get up, stand up, dont give up the fight

We sick an' tired of-a your ism-skism game -
Dyin' 'n' goin' to heaven in-a Jesus' name, lord.
We know when we understand:
Almighty god is a living man.
You can fool some people sometimes,
But you can't fool all the people all the time.
So now we see the light (what you gonna do?),
We gonna stand up for our rights! (yeah, yeah, yeah! )"

:biglaugh:

Well I wish they'ed come check my house then, I've had the feeling I was being illegally hypnotised for some time now.

I just don't answer the door, no one who knows me would ever just stop by without calling first.

'illegal or unregulated hypnotism'
i could do with some of that shit right now, sounds like the next big clubbing drug

love the clip of the scouser telling it how it is:jump:

i've been thinking about this today and wondering if it is something to do with the area that this guy lives in-there have been several big busts in the surrounding streets in the recent past-and several more tasty Ops that the cops never rumbled-thats alot of liberated electricity-maybe someone noticed an unregulated drain on the national grid? I don't know

just can't work out why a loft bod would take a cop with them. I had a guy come around a couple of years ago and ask me the loft insulation question. He was from a company sub-contracted by the council and alone.

anyway i hope that it dosen't amount to anything-if he gets his door kicked in i will let you know

cheers

The police do use council workers. My brother in law was a council electrician they used him to gain entry to a house without causing suspicion as a shot gun was supposedly on the premises. Have a healthy sense of paranoia and dont let anybody in.

If you get anyone at your door asking to come in and check your insulation tell them '' I have 150mm rockwool inbetween the joists with 100mm layed over the top. I think you will find this complies with current thermal regulations regarding loft spaces-now fuck off''

I've worked long and hard to pay for my house and if you think I'm letting you in without permission, then we may have a problem. Only one way your coming in and thats crashing through my front door at 5 a.m with a warrant in your hand.

Be safe people

,,most councils are offering advice on insulation ,every where i look near me there are burrows vans doing the lofts ,they knock the door to advise on your insulation ,easiest answer is to tell them your loft is boarded out and used for storage ,the council will not pay someone to come and rip the boarding out ,,

the fire brigade offer free checks all the time ,especially if there has been a fire in the street ,if they were caught snooping ,they would lose their jobs (30k basic),,so maybe someone was dressing as fireman to gain access ..

as for the 20,000 council officials been able to gain entry ,thats nearly correct ,but they would have to be part of the health and saftey executive ..no one else other than the customs and excise are allowed to enter properties without warrants ,

only worry if you here your door coming through :comfort:
