Badly Twisted Statistics

Any one notice lately how the anti pot crowd is getting slimier by the day? They keep making up new lies, and keep shouting most of the old ones louder.

The newest one that bothers me the most is the statistic they spout about the drastic increase in people going to rehab for pot.

This is what I want to yell at them. Of course there is you fucking dumb ass. More people than ever are getting busted for it, therefore more people go to court for it. Since prisons are over filled, and pot laws are stupid, logical judges do the only thing they really can. They make a person go to fake rehab. It is the least they are aloud to do so to speak. Treatment for drugs is on the popular rise in the world it seems as well.
So next time you start quoting me some dumb fuck statistic like that remember that is makes you personally... a dumb fuck.

I would like to hear which ones bother you guys, and what you would say if you were in a debate on the news.

A misuse of statistics occurs when a statistical argument asserts a falsehood. In some cases, the misuse may be accidental. In others, it is purposeful and for the gain of the perpetrator.

73% of all statistics are misused. Recent studies showed the Abortion/R.T.L Supporters consistently misused statistics to support their claims. Gun/anti gun supporters also misuse statistics to show how safe/unsafe guns are. Global Warmist, whale huggers and yes, drug advocates are all twisting statistics and warping facts that were just opinions, scientific or otherwise into a cry for change and in support of their cause.

It's been going on forever. It's never going to stop.

My grandfather went to rehab for alcohol 3 times and had many DUI's.

My father went to rehab for alcohol 8 times before killing himself with booze and also had many DUI's in several states..

Only one male in my family out of the last 6 generations have lived past the age of 50 due to destructive personality's.

I am almost 40 and have never been to rehab or been an alcoholic.

I have just as addictive of a personality but have saved myself with marijuana.

I truly believe without marijuana I would be the same as them. It also got me off tobacco.

I want to live.

I find going to rehab for marijuana absolutely ridiculous.

"The average person who switched to X car insurance saved $350."

No shit, because if the price was higher the person didn't switch. So every single person who didnt switch is not part of the measured population. It sounds so good, but doesn't mean shit. It sure doesn't mean that the average quote is $350 less. What if 99.9% of people don't switch, that overall majority is ignored? Its a comfort statistic.

The best misuse of statistics is taking a number that is completely irrelevant or carries absolutely no weight and using it to back up an argument. People are too lazy to listen to the units, instead focusing solely on the number. Most of the time people seem to listen with the intent of seeing where the majority lies and nothing more.

It is stupid to send anyone to rehab for herb, and anyone who has smoked it for at least one summer straight knows there is no need for any rehab.

I personally believe addiction, especially alcoholism, is a learned behavior.

My father's mother was an alcoholic. All of his siblings are alcoholics. My cousins (his sibling's sons) are alcoholics.

My father wasn't raised by his parents. He was raised by his grandmother and aunt. My father is not an alcoholic. Psychologists/psychiatrists were amazed that I wasn't a drug addict, alcoholic in particular, when I was 16 after all the medical struggles I had been through and the depression resulting. The reason was because of my parents.

To quote the Greek historian Plutarch: "drunks beget drunkards."

it's true though, more people than ever are now enrolling in drug rehab for cannabis addiction than ever before, now let me tell you why.......

You get pinched for minor possession in your redneck state. You go to court and are told it's 90 days time or a $500 fine & you must enter a substance abuse program. Not only that but you need to explain/admit/allocute to the court that you're addicted to weed and entering treatment of your own free will.

there's your fucking stats

don't be a part of it if you can help it, I refused to admit addiction and enter a program when caught a bunch of yrs ago, they threatened more jail time & I offered more $$$ & some extra community service.

btw, padding those stats is exactly how they funnel more money into the war on drugs,
more jails, more cops, federal matching funds for being good lil piggies etc.......
