New Year, Less In My Paycheck

I

Iron_Lion

My check has been about 10$ light every week since the first of the year. Doesnt seem like a lot but when you get down to it thats the equivalent to a spaghetti and meat ball dinner which could feed a family of 4 one night, or in my case thats a weeks worth of iced coffee's. Why must we pay for others mistakes :dunno:

No new taxes huh :tiphat:

Thank You :monkeyeat

I feel your pain, I.L. But if it makes you feel any better, the on-again off-again CEO of GM who is making 3K and hour (?!) for 20 hours per month appreciates your "contribution"

just a general question...not meant to incite any flame throwing of any sort or any type of mean-spirited bashing of anyone.

What exactly can obama do to keep the US from complete economic meltdown and at the same time cut taxes? Is there anything that the president can do that would override everyone else in congress and solve all of these problems that were pre-existing when he took office?

Honestly, and maybe I don't know enough about our corrupt system of politics.....but can anything really be done when neither party will even try to even look like they could entertain the idea of getting along?

I am not trying to say, "Lay off Obama", but rather how can he do anything? Has the republican party agreed to any of his or the dems ideas? In the same vein, do you think the dems will agree with any of the republicans ideas? What about the other party, oh wait.....thats all we have....two different philosophy's on politics...that's it. The media will always shut them out...and deny that they are anything but crazies blowin' flowers out their a**.

We all know that there is only two ways to look at everything right? (sarcasm) Maybe it's time for a third party to rise....and maybe if support started to leave both major political parties and re-focused on a third party instead of the dems or reps....and maybe, just maybe, those who are in power to actually facilitate changes and solve problems with our current system will try to work something out.

Maybe I am off base.....and now getting back to the original post.....that sucks dude, but more power to you to actually have job. I am down in here in the SE US, haven't been able to find work in months..nothing that will pay the bills at least.

Good Luck to you, and everyone else out there having financial issues at the moment....

peace and goodwill :smoker:

Exactly...............people seem to forget that when GWB entered office, the federal government was in the black. 8 years later, we were $600 billion in debt. Sure, he didn't raise taxes, but he had no plans on how to pay for all his little projects (i.e. 2 wars, Medicare reform, etc.) Obama just happened to take office when the entire world was in a financial crisis. What should we do? Follow California and recall Obama & put a Republican in office? We see how well that worked out.................:jump:

Stoner4life, not sure Bush is to blame for all this, do a little search on google for lost trillions. Donald Rumsfeld tells congress the day before 9/11 that they can't account for 2.5 trillion dollars. So maybe Clinton didn't really balance the budget during his time in the seat, or maybe they all have the same agenda which is take more money from all of us every chance they get, I'll go with the later since that is what has happened.

I think he's referring to bank de-regulations that took place in the bush era and pre-bush era. All Obama did was inherit the mess.

Because Bush declared "a home in every pot" in the mid 90s when he was president..? G.Dub. pushed for lower down payments and basically cut the restrictions for lending to first time home buyers with no financial means to actually pay for a house. Ya that was him.

Ya it was G.Dub. who introduced the ARM (Adjustable Rate Mortgage) back in like 1982. It was he who convinced all the uneducated, unintelligent people who had no means to pay for a house that an ARM was a good idea.

My dad bought my family's house in like 1979 with cash, because back then you had to prove that you didn't even need a loan to get a loan. Now any retard who works at the gas station can get a loan for a new car or something.

Soon it will be every citizen's "right" to a home, just like every citizen will have their "right" to buy mandatory health insurance.

Audit the Fed, that's what Obama could do.

The greedy get what they deserve. They wanted to secure oil interest, and make americans feel safe. That way we would keep spending our money on useless crap and arguing over abortion and gay marriage, so they could continue to fuck us. Now they get to pay for their war in taxes. They wanted to let the housing bubble go crazy, let them pay taxes. fuck em.

I am quite poor so, my taxes went down since Obama has been in power. Really if you think about it from a logical perspective with no bias the guy is doing a pretty good job. No one hear could handle that shit. Bush couldnt handle it, look what he did. The only things he hasnt done is bring the troops home, and legalize weed. He cant even do the latter by himself. As far as military goes he is smart enough to listen to experienced people. I know, if it was up to Obama we wouldnt have started that war in the first place. The war is what is costing us the majority of our debt driving up taxes, for the rich. so let em pay.
