It all depends what you want. If you want the best phone in the world right now get the iPhone. If not, get a droid. I've held and played with both. No competition. Droid has free turn by turn gps while iPhone is just gps. Droid has better camera. Outside of that droid loses everywhere else. My two cents. Peace and smoke.

I've got a droid. the things pretty sweet but ive heard the iphone is pretty kickin too.

The free apps w/droid are pretty cool. even got a half-baked soundboard which is a good laugh. But i really like having the mp3 player that i just plug into my tape adapter, and jam out in the car.

iphone period. I worked at Verizon for multiple years and tried really hard to like their phones. The fact is that they have to have so much control over the phones they end up dumbing them down before release largely so they can fit all their preloaded software on the phone. The droid is the best yet attempt to beat the iphone killer.

The day I quit Verizon I went and got an iphone. I'll never go to any other phone, apple has it dialed. So to speak. my 2c

Iphone - NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!!

If you absolutely have to have a phone on you at all seconds of the day because your business requires it, the only reason I could suggest you get a Droid is because of the Verizon network coverage area. Although AT&T's coverage is not bad (not their 3G, their actual range of area where you can talk) Verizon's coverage is much better. But the coverage is where the comparison stops.

It was like the first time you owned a cell phone. Or the first time you had a navigation system in your car. Or the first computer you bought for your room where you can FINALLY download porn in the privacy of your home! (LOL) - You realized "wow, how did I ever live without this??" That is what you get when you get the Iphone. Its the IPHONE - It's literally called THE INTERNET PHONE! i-phone

Once you own one you'll understand. It's not all hype! (and get the protective covering)

i got 2 broken iphone's.......
apple want's to charge me $100 each just to look at them when i was talking to tech she told me what is wrong and what has to be done{software issue} it cost $45 for them to do it so $145 to fix + shipping the reason it's broke is from the att store that dont know what they where doing....
the 2nd has a blowen speaker, dead battery & cracked screen

i told her to go fuck her self and for $245+ i would drive to elk grove and toss them in there front window and drive home happy

Yes.. The big drawback of the iphone is the no insurance plan available. Also the no removable battery and atts subpar network. But once you set those side and get one in your hands. Your sold.

What network? And what droid? I know that the Iphone is primarily on the AT&T network, and it doesn't have to be though, that is why I ask. Also, there are multiple Droid based phones....

I have a cell phone, it has a camera but I don't use it.

my plan is $35.00 for 3500 minutes per month, oh yeah
I only use my cell phone to talk, everything else is fluff.

it works just fine, it's a Samsung btw on Verizon network.

I love my Droid. The slide out keyboard is awesome, I'm old enough I really dig the actual keys, haptic feedback just doesn't cut it.
The camera rocks, does the iphone NOT have a flash, is that what I read? There's a free app to make that LED from the Droid's flash into a flashlight.
The network is great, I don't make calls very often, and the 3G coverage is actually better where I'm at than the 1x. So I can surf at full speed but the calls will drop, but I live in a really rural area. I didn't expect to have much signal at all out here, that's what I have a laptop for.
Removable memory card, I can stick the mini SD card in an adapter and put it in my camera or my laptop, or transfer data to anyone without having to plug in a cable. (OK my lame ass hasn't gotten up to speed on bluetooth yet, that's my own fault.)
If a hard reset is necessary due to user error (oh yes, I'm an idiot sometimes) I can pop out the battery.
The google maps navigator is way better than the GPS my buddy has. Although neither of them go into Canada. LOL!

That is cool! My buddies really old phone has that and it is awesome. I actually always turn on my video camera on my Storm and leave it on when I need to see. I have it set to a hot key so it is easy, but still, the flashlight mode would be cool. What droid do you have?

growclean - droid is the the name of the motorola phone sold exclusively by verizon...
droid-phone-778204.jpg

it uses the 'android' platform created by google and i believe several phones do as well,
that maybe where the confusion is

and yeah i want that fucking droid so bad, so sick of this POS phone i got now..
apparently its got a metal detector built in it - for whatever reason you'd need that? who knows. but some of the apps ive heard are kick ass

There's also the Droid Eris, but yeah I have THE Droid. As far as I know it doesn't have a second name.

The metal detector is just a gimmick, it works by using the docking magnets that change the display based on which dock you put it in. You can set off the metal detector by moving the phone from horizontal to vertical. But it will indeed register large enough chunks of metal like a set of keys.

yeah my buddy has metal screws in his ankle and it detected them..
that by far is not the reason i want the phone - just thought i'd mention that feature
