2lbs per 1000w is damn good, thanks for sharing your nutes. what size pots and how many did you have? what kind of topping/training did you use? in some of the pics it looks like all the branches are cinced up around the middle of the plant. did you snip some leaves? thanks!

this is exactly the thread I was looking for since I recently started a thread asking about putting my 400 and 600 in a 4x4 tent and how to set it up best.

Did you have the lights sitting at the same height
or
Did you have the plants under the 400 lifted to make up for less light
or
Did you have the lights at different heights and leave the girls on the floor

Not sure if any of those were repetitious or not lol BUT I wanted to run them horizontal first then try my hand at a 400/600 vert run possibly.

So the fox farm entire line is working for you it seems. Were the buds less dense under the 400 section? Were the buds that were in the middle of the two lights MORE dense in any way?

Just wondering what all I need to be on the look out for when doing miss matched light wattages.

great grow.

Hey Dope show Bub.

Med, i did an off wattage multi light grow for a while (looking back it was a mess, well a good harvesting mess... long veg. i guess the word would be jungle) What i settled on was keeping the lights in line to straighted out the ducting for the air cooled hoods and just trying to keep the canopy even. a 400 and a 600 near each other are just like one large source of light to the plants (you know what i mean, you do get some angled light for better lower growth). I just found that changing the lamp heights made it into 2 seperate grows instead of one bigger one. try milk crates to help with the canopy but i eventually just let the naturally taller plants go on the perimeter of the footprint and the shorter under the lamps in the hotspot.

Question about veg time and topping

Question about veg time and topping

I vegged these girls for about 3 weeks in then transplanted them into 5 gallon buckets. after about a week in the 5 gallon buckets in vegg i put them in flower. Also most of them were topped around 2 to 4 times. All girls were flagged at bottoms. Also all big shade and fan leaves were trimmed before putting into flower. Id say once about every 2 weeks while in flower we trimmed up a little but not to much cause of stress extra big shade leaves that grow back.
O n 2 white russians were flowered out in a 30 gallon tub. they were vegged also for about 3 weeks and then put into tub.
All in all I think it was a very good run. I do recommend not getting to much into the trimming of leaves unless well experienced with your strains. This does cause stress and will through out nanners if not carefull. Hope this helps a little more on the set up. any more questions do feel free to ask.

great grow.

here is how I had my lights. I had the 6 and 4 postioned side by side. 600 watter was a about 6 inches higher than the 400. lights were raised accordingly to keep canopy even. All plants were rotated in room everyother day for even growth. I do know from experience if you just have like 4 girls chillin under the 6 never moved along wit 4 under the 400 never moved you will notice a difference in density. But if you got a set up just like this just keep movin them girls around and rotating them everyother day while in flower and they will grow nice and evenly. Also solar ng hps bulbs were used in both lights. Hope this helps. O and lights were not vented due to air conditioning in room kept it kool enough and didnt see light burn so no need to watse electric.

just a thought, but i always use a 2x4. put hooks in the ceiling, an hooks in the back of the 2x4. hook your lights an exhaust to the 2x4, with just hooks. then using a chain, you can hook that 2x4 up to the ceiling, and lower or heighten your lights as one unit.
and i also top my plants 2 weeks before flowering, so it'll be an even canopy.
but still.. i dont get a gram per watt. : ( but enough to keep me happy. : )

He probably means wet weight, cause it doesn't look like that much, but need better pics to really tell.

that aint no 2lbs, but they look ok. Not sure about your techniques though...trimming while still on the plant!...Crazy. Looks like a nice solid pound though.

I was thinking the same thing not that i can judge fully just by those pictures and i'm not trying to start anything, it's just what i noticed. It looks like top quality bud for sure though, so regardless if it's 2lbs or not you did a very nice job!

It seems that your trimming methods may help increase your reported yield. Perhaps leaving all of that leaf is smart though if selling your product.

hello all. thnx for checkin out my post. to the replies on the 2 lbs. yes it was a 2 lb run. and on the trimming. these pics were taken while the trimming was being done on takedown day. We trim everything as whole plant and then after shes all trimmed up we chop her and hang her. These were not trimmed like this during the duration of the run. I do nopt have any other pics of this run but check out my journal and youll see the 1 gram a watt madness under a 400. currently right now im at 1.25g a watt:)
