We need an iPhone app!!!!

I personally have no idea how to even get it started, but I figured someone will. I can't stop searching this site, and I wanna do it while I'm on the road. Who's with me? How do we get it started? I also know I'm probably not in the right section, but I didn't know where else to post it...

Doesn't the iPhone devices come with Apple's Safari browser?

I use one of the Android phones and other than the fact that this web site is not geared for smart phones in general it is possible to hit this site and log-in and do a Search.

Time to get a CSS expert hired on at ICMAG from my perspective.

Ya I know i can access thru the internet, but I mean an actual app. If you had an iPhone you'd get it. It basically would just give you this site with a more "mobile user friendly" layout. I just posted this so it would get the ball rolling and maybe someone who knew how would try to do it. I am always on here on my phone and an app would just make it that much easier...

Sorry but I'm a iPhone developer (as well as an Android developer) and quite frankly I do 'get it' with regard to what it is that you're looking for.

If you're looking for a more 'mobile user friendly' layout then this is not an iPhone and/or Android paradigm but rather a change in the background coding of this site, i.e. it fails on almost all/every level.

Thanks for the response. There was no need to be rude with the 'get it' comment. I wasn't trying to insult anyone. If your a developer than why don't you and ICMag get together and make something for all us iPhone/Android users? I'm just saying it would be cool not undermining your capabilities...

I would use a Iphone app for IC if there was one ...I dont think the powers at be would want to put the time and money into the development / getting apples approval... I could be wrong .. it would be neat !

On an unrelated note, it's kind of crappy that apple makes you use their computers if you want to develop an Iphone app, or else I would already be doing it.

Why not just make a mobile site.. be easier.. and it would work for people who dont have iphones.. I've accessed it via phone before but it wasnt exactly "smooth" took forever to get to where I wanted to go and such...

There are certain records and fields within this site that could be searched and displayed with an iPhone app. No need to re-write the entire site Coot. I could've used one today as I was searching all over LA and surrounding area for a few new strains. So many strains out there and I've only heard of 20% of them. Pain in the ass with Safari or other mobile browsers I'm sure, as they display the entire page instead of certain fields.
