What's that strain you had that time that you just can't seem to find again?

That was my 1st grow as well,same source and same timeframe too,88-89ish. That was a great strain. Lots of banks still offer SK1/NL5 crosses. With all the crazy hybdids and polybrids out there now,which I,m not knocking, some are great , we sometimes forget how good these old school simple crosses can be.

but if you think about it the stuff today might have the same gen line of the crosses from the 60s,70s,80, in them today just mixed up in different orders. to me it takes the right genetic code combination
that you get those killer strains from. i might be wrong .

now its a very nice pineapple pheno and a hash pheno and zero grape pheno from 5 packs 0f 15 seeds from 2006...

the pineapple pheno is frosted and powerful and grimm bros used it to build c99

I got a hold of a small amount of Chocolate Thai in college around '95. Smelled and tasted like a Hershey bar. Saved it for a special occassion and man was it special. I have not seen, smelled, tasted or felt its equal since then.

4 way east coast cut, 100's of people till this day say nothing compares. It was truly a one hit wonder at least back when my tolerance was low and had the most powerful smell of anything that iv seen in the past 10 years.

Back then i knew nothing about growing but would always save seeds. I went through pounds of that stuff and only found 2 seeds which i lost and one seed that popped out when i was breaking open a bud and it feel down the bathroom sink. I do know that it is still going around i just dont know the right people but hope i will some dam time.

the NOVA 4 way, this what u r referring to?? it truly is my top 3 strains ever. no one ever knew the 4 crosses, but daaaaaaamn it was the greatest. nothing was ever so potent in my yrs of toking. dense tiny nugs usually, orangey in color, tastes like skunk & sugar a bit.....



on another note, Tampa - GREEN BEAN. if u smoked it or could get the Green Bean, enough said. prob all time fav strain. if i could smoke one straiun forever, it would be GREEN BEAN>

Probably doesn't exist as the grower died/drowned.

Knew an engraver, back in the late 80's/early 90's, that came out of Oregon... kinda close to the Cali border. Stopped by my place one time with a big fat, light green cola about as big around as a half dollar, maybe a bit less.

There were 5 of us in the room when a zig/zag 1-1/4 joint was passed around. I can't remember what it tasted like but it was a good 5 minutes before anyone noticed that we'd all only taken 2 hits each and that the joint had been put out.

Wow... buzzed right away... upbeat, speedy... everyone was talking and chatting and buzzing along really nice. Chatting up what great smoke it was... you know how it goes.

So... this cat keeps checking is watch and... after a bit... says that we're really going to like this next bit. Heh.

At about 12-15 minutes in (no idea really... just that it was longer than 10 minutes)..... BAM! The room goes totally silent.

Everyone in there was just punched into the couch pretty damn good. Wow. I probably can't handle the indica that was in it (I actually like life now) but I'd LOVE to get a cut of that.

Word was that he was growing in his farmhouse attic, but I was never privy to that. Damn decent guy though and one hell of a silver craftsman. He'll definitely be missed.

I think I'm actually missing that creeper, more than anything.

Yup the NOVA 4 way, well funny thing is years after my hook up went dry I found out where it all came from and knew a guy who was friends with the grower. From what he told me the cross was skunk, afghan, northern lights and rudaralis. I cant be certain thats what it really was but ill be dammed that shit was fire.

That was one of the only strains to date i never got sick of even after 5 straight years. Capt Crip says he has the 4way east coast cut, not sure if its the same or not as he has been MIA for a while. Im 100% sure its still around in parts of DC and Baltimore. Who the fuck knows maybe one day the cut will end up in my hands.
