Please help me find a strain

I'm putting together a seed order at the Boutique and I have room for one more strain. Here is what I'm looking for:

* Smooth smoke. I can't emphasize this enough.
* A relaxing, calming stone. Narcotic-like potency. Couchlock is OK.
* 8-9 week finishing time, relatively short stature.
* Femmed beans are a big plus.

All suggestions are appreciated. TIA

I'd recommend Nirvana's MasterKush... Very sweet smoke, even better trim to infuse into oils for cooking or Green Dragon Juice... Pain relieving, mildly sedative.

If you require more heavy hitting, how about Black Domina? Absolutely, total couch-lock, knock you out, best cure for insomnia I ever had...

I'm working on some Himalayan Blue Diesel (an autoflower variety supposed to go from seed to finished weed in 60-70 days), which is supposed to be the bomb for headaches, pain, nerves, etc. No smoke report yet, tho.

Please feel free to PM me & let me know what effect you are searching for, i.e., to treat what symptom... I'd be glad to help you, as I have spent several years researching strains for medical purposes & have experience with growing several...

Cheers.

I appreciate the detailed reply. I've grown out Black Domina, but not Master Kush. I'm kind of interested in it, regardless, so I'll add a pack to my cart.

Hi Simon,
You've expressed concern about smoothness of smoke. Not so much a strain issue as it is a curing and preparation issue. But there are some strains that stand out. White Widow being one of them. Not much flavor but a very smooth smoke.

You really should consider use of a vaporizer (and edibles) if smoke irritation is an issue. I've been smoking pot for 40+ years and have really noticed an improvement in my respiratory health since switching to a vape.
Good luck,

Hi Simon,

I have Asthma, extreme hypersensitivity to irritants. Believe me when I say that the right strain make all the difference. I've only had Asthma for the last ~4 years. Before then, I could smoke anything. At the height of the discomfort, only 2 specific plants (not strains) could make it into the lungs without causing an extreme reaction. I'm almost back to normal, well, kind of, but unfortunately I still need to look for very smooth smoke. Cure-wise, it can take a less smooth strain up to 18 months to become completely tolerable. It's a fucking curse.

I've grown out FMS WW. The smoke was very smooth. I have FMS Black Widow vegging ATM. We'll see how it goes. I'm totally with you when it comes to eatables. It it weren't for chocolate truffles and firecrackers, I don't know how I would have made it until the doctors figured out a solution.

Thank you for the thoughtful suggestions,
Simon

What about a Vaporizer? I have a friend who has/had asthma and he used a vape every day without issues. I think his asthma went away too.

At first glance, it might seem silly to believe that this could be true...the part about his asthma going away. But I believe it.

Using the vape eliminated much of the non-psychoactive respiratory irritants and THC actually does have a mild bronchodilator effect which could improve asthma.

Simon,
Thinking about your situation, smoothness of smoke for other people may not be useful info for you. You have a variety of very selective allergies and so you respond to that.

If you lived in a legal state and could find a ganja friendly allergy specialist (I know...lots of ifs)...you could actually be skin tested for smoke residue allergic response. That way you could be sure of selecting strains that YOU don't respond negatively to.

I agree with Evil...

I also have issues which require a smooth, mellow smoke. With the MasterKush (grown organic), I have taken buds & microwaved on low to dry, then smoked. Most strains I cannot do this, but with the MK I can... JMO I'm not a big fan of quick-dried weed, as it can be nasty...

Well, when you're having enuf pain, you'll do just about anything, I guess... But WW & MK are the ONLY varieties that don't leave me coughing & choking...

Just my .02 worth...

It's is the first I've heard of this. I took a few days to respond, as I wanted to check into the option. MMJ is not legal here, but traveling is not out of the question. Thank you for the pointer.

And, a genuine note of thanks to everyone who took the time to help out. I've been meaning to grow out MK for a while, and this is the perfect time. Tried adding Angel Dust (love the name) to the cart, but it's sold out. Figures.

FWIW, these are the smoothest I've smoked (specific phenos, of course): Shiva (sativa), C99/Blueberry, C99, and (FMS) Skunk Special. All, lung candy.

Simon,
I'm very surprised that you haven't been to an allergist to have skin tests to determine what triggers your asthma. I have a health care background, and that's something that's commonly done. They have standardized allergen solutions for such common allergens as cat dander, dust mites, cigarette smoke and such. And they can make up custom testing solutions too.

You should be using a cortisone inhaler (or a mast cell stabilizer) as a maintenance medication that will calm your asthma and then a quick acting inhaler for emergencies.

It might be that once you get your asthma stabilized and treated properly...then your ganja response will be less dramatic.

You haven't responded to people who suggest a vaporizer. I think it's totally silly to smoke anything when you have serious asthma. Do you know that people die from asthma? Anyway, my preaching is over.... (can't help myself)

Oh, I've been to the allergist. I meant the test for smoke relative to different strains.

That's essentially what I have. It's interesting. The rescue inhaler really didn't do much, until we isolated the right Asthma medication.

It might be that once you get your asthma stabilized and treated properly...then your ganja response will be less dramatic.

You bet. It is a lot less dramatic, sometimes nonexistent. I mean, I'm almost back to normal, but I still prefer not to agitate the condition.

Sorry, I have a vape, but I don't love the stone.

I appreciate the concern. There's a very strong medical background in my family, as well.

One of the strain guides around here had a few suggestions for asthma, in particular... but I can't seem to locate it today...

Sorry.
