Tinfoil (flat or shiny out?)

All my life heard about using foil one way or the other (what side) for different things. Do you really think it makes any difference?

Tweaker! LOL, just joking...

Tinfoil to reflect light is not as efficient as white, and if it's creased or light reflects off certain spots on it, you could create burning spots from concentrated light shining on leaves etc..

Now for cooking, one side is more shiny and one side is duller. I use the dull side to put food in or in contact with food, because from what I've read, they polish the shiny side with mineral oil so the rollers can roll the shit out...Does it make a difference? If you believe in superstition then yes..LOL "Because I said so!" also is a reason LOL

Now for your tinfoil helmets, the polished side may control the mind penetrating ultra-violet-infra-red-waves, so tinfoil helmets need to be made with the dull side out, so the brain waves can be kept hidden from extra terrestrial evil forces..may the force be with you..

Don't think they use oil, it's the fact of running two layers together through the rollers that gives the inner side the dullness. They can't make the rollers as thin as 6 microns apart so they do it at 12. At least that's whay they say on "how it's made".

I don't think it matters as long as it is tightly wound around the inside of your hat. I found no difference in keeping the aliens out of my head by using the shiny side versus the dull side. Both work well enough for me and you'll find it works for you too.

Oh, you were going to use it on food? Geez., I dunno' about dat' one... :p

For a tinfoil hat to be effective you must make two layers with each face out, that way not only do you defeat the government mind control and reading apparatus as well as the various space aliens.

Thanks

I dont think the Aliens want my mind....I think they're after my MAN-FLUIDS. I will live in fear. The tinfoil is too uncomfortable.

Hello good people! Only commercial tinfoil REALLY works to keep their thought waves & voices out, & only on the OUTSIDE of your hat.
THEY want you to believe the regular consumer grade tinfoil works. If they want our man fluids, they will always be able to figure out a way. "Hey big boy, want a piece of candy?" They got me LAST time with a "free beer & chicken" come on. BEWARE of little people offering free imported beer!

*MY DISCLAIMER: Do only what the Rice Crispies tell you to do now; they are The Wise Ones. This is a public service announcement.

I strongly disagree with the 'hot-spot' theory. It's an old wives tale that people keep passing along. It became an all out war on the last forum I used. I'll say this, I defy anyone to show me a magnified hot spot caused by aluminum foil. I have it on the back wall of my grow room, not because I can't afford mylar, (and the wall was already painted flat white) but because I wanted to disprove that theory. 7 grows with 1000 watts of hps, no hot spots.

Perlease - not that Old Wives´Tale again. Sorry, it just doesn´t happen. I have used aluminium foil (nobody has actually made TIN foil for years) as a perfectly satisfactory reflector for ages.
No, hotspots just do not appear.

Staggers got it right, a lot of people forget the second layer, critical for protecting your brain.
