What's new

Just curious - WHAT DO YOU DO for a living?

Wow!!!

I didn't know it was that expensive to operate a McDonalds! In my case (silly me) I was using half an estimate given by Little Caesars for their franchisee fees. Their damn $5.00 pizza's have caught on like wild-fire in today's recession.

Wow, wow, wow! All that for a McDonalds huh? LOL

i remember doing a report on franchises back when i took marketing in high school. to start a fully stocked 7-11, it costs (this was in 2003) $75,000 PLUS the lease on the building and utilities and permits and whatnot. also, for a mcDonald's, it was around $1.2 million to get a fully stocked mcD's, plus the cost of the lease and utilities and permits :joint:

prices have probably changed since then

A 'Subway' franchise requires a down-stroke of about $125,000.00 BEFORE you figure in set-up costs, i.e. signage (about $20,000.00), advertising, etc.

That's before you've done your 'demographic study' (about $20,000.00) and before you've done setting up your store, i.e. ovens, basic kitchen set-up, et al.

It ain't cheap to be cool, eh?

LOL

patient care associate (responsible for basic patient care/ ekg tech/ phlebotomist all rolled into one) the most thankless job i have ever had

be totally honest i hate it. been here too long actually, 10 years now, and if you saw me you would be shocked!! tired of listening to patients whine about their pain and rely on a lil pill that will solve everything for them or so they think. actually it sickens me to see them just pushing pills down peoples throats, was going into nursing but dont have the memory for A&P and i suck at cheating on tests.

piss, shit, blood, snot, drool, puss, weeping wounds, nasty ass bums, lice, bedbugs, MDR (multi drug resistant syndrome) people, its all just your basic cluster fuck of nasty shit that only the human genome can produce. i can honestly see why people say a dogs mouth is cleaner than most peoples i come across

thank god for the union though, i dont care what anyone says, they pulled my ass outta more scrapes with this sorry ass hospital administration than i can count, sorry ass bitter nurses, dyke nurse managers and their bosses, other pcas that think they are your boss, i always say, its too many chiefs and not enough indians in this friggin place, but fuckem they can have it in afew, just let me get my shit together and im ghost

tryin to get my finances straight so i can get into electrician school and go that route. need my independence and freedom, wanna be set to task, complete said task and done. dont wanna bother with other peoples health bullshit anymore.

and when i am ready i do plan to call in dead.

also a dad, stepdad(there is a difference), husband and grower.

nah it's more like 2 million net worth, 1 million liquid, an approved location, money to pay for construction etc etc etc

It's not hotdog on a stick

Let's not forget the required demographic study as well as the requirement to have a degree from McDonald's Hamburger University in Illinois. It ain't cheap.

And then it goes up from there...................

All for a hamburger that originally costs $.18 each - weird times indeed.

They tell us city folk to stay out of moles-tacada :D I dated the daughter of a Clack DA that was from there :)
I once lived in Estacada actually.

Another 'weird story' from my past. I lived in a home overlooking McGiver Park - heh.

I actually had to pay a 'view tax' because my home overlooked the park as well as a straight view of Mt. Hood.

Labor of Love Man

My career has been across the board. From just a plain laborer to doing Quality Control in pre-press for a global printing company, more than once, to a mobile phone sales dick..haha. Then got tired of the disrespect and bullshit that came along with being a felon and trying to get a job. I was a meth addict for the majority of my life. Got clean after being arrested one to many times and made the choice to never look back(working on ciggs next) and using cannabis has never made me think twice either. And yes I did smoke weed all that time to. However It is not a trigger for me, their is no trigger for me. Weed is my medicine helps with my pain from multiple car accidents at a very young age. I now live with a shit load of pain everyday. But not enough to keep me from growing the best medicine in the NorthWest and providing it to the same type of folks as myself. I have a one legged man,a paraplegic,a patient with fibro and so on, so I help folks deal with being in pain day to day till I am unable to get around. Then the kids will take over the biz. Hopefully that will be no time soon since I am only 34 and my passion is growing and providing, it leaves one satisfied at the end of the day. Hope this satisfies your curiosity bro.
