Easiest way to make hash! Quick Wash ISO!

reall i never had white substance on my plate.. i push it through filter gently.. the remaining power in the coffee filter looks like keif but doesnt give me a buzz.. wash your filter with alcohol first maybe to get any stuff off it? it wont degrade if you just let it sit.. but maybe the alcohol is eating the filter???

i just dont fill it all the way then wrap it and squeeze

I have noticed that the alcohol drains very slowly through the coffee filter, is there any other kind of filter to use that drains quicker. And is it ok to let the alcohol just sit there and drip until its all filtered through? The alcohol isnt sitting in any leaf material at this point its been strained through some mesh. Will it degrade any if left for an hour or so to finish dripping?

You could try using a french press for small batches of oil. They use them to make coffee but you can also use it for this purpose i imagine.

Well if the alcohol doesn't degrade it just sitting there waiting to drip through the filter i might try two filters and see if it improves quality.

has anyone experimented with cooking with iso hash? i was thinking of melting some butter in a crock pot and dissolving in a bit of iso and letting it all mix up and cook then baking with the resulting butter.

are there any health risks associated with eating iso hash?

I really wanna try this but i'm unable to found ISO where i live.

I have the choice beetwen pure ethanol(90°) and a mix of alcohol, aqua, acetone, isopropyl alcohol.I believe the first is the best but i really wanna know what you guys think...so if someone can enlighten me...thanks!

There is lot of discussions about health risks here in the forum.
In short words it depends on purity of a solvent.
If a solvent doesn't leave oily or dusty residue after evaporation it is OK,
otherwise the residue will mix with a resin extract and will go into your body.
My choice is ethanol 96%.

Ive run out of material to make oil with so in the next few weeks when i have some money ill be doing a 14 gram run. Ive found that grinding the weed up to fine will result in a lot of chlorophyll being extracted even at 10-15 second washes. So instead of grinding it up ill just cut it up in small dime sized chunks. Ill try and get pic this time.

I don't grind mine up, just loose trim is already pretty diced up from the Trim Reaper machine so no need to dice it further.

I'm currently drying two half pound batches of trim, one made with ISO, one with denatured alcohol (used for cleaning glass, no residue!) and they are baking in the oven right now. Will scrape it up tonight and report back. I did notice the ISO wash was browner, the denatured is more of a neon green so far. I've got every window and fan in the house on to keep the smell down, but it's still pretty strong. Glad I'm at work!

I envy you lazy man! I might be doing a small run tonight with an 1/8th, Id much perfer smoking the oil to the weed, i could smoke an eighth and not get nearly as high as smoking the oil i get from an 1/8th. The high is much more enjoyable this way.

Alright no pics, but I got a zip of hash out of both the denatured and the isopropyl alcohols, no difference in end product. I got more of a yield out of my last couple batches, but I did a shorter wash this time, about 45 seconds per batch. Going back to the 60 seconds for slightly better yields. Also want to try doing a second wash and see what comes out. Gotta start buying alcohol by the case.

Ah yes, but a tip! When baking ISO, put the pan in the COLD oven and THEN turn it on. I spilled a bit of my second pan loading it into a hot oven, and POOF. Slam the door shut and turn the oven off, wait a minute and it was out, but it sure woke me up! Stupid lazyman, lost a few eyelashes to that lesson.

After the liquid bakes off, wait until you stop seeing bubbles, I think it's alcohol or water still vaporizing out. Took 12 hours to bake off a gallon of alcohol per pan at 200*F in a 13X9 pyrex dish, another hour to stop bubbling.

For giggles, I took a smaller pyrex pan outside and lit it on fire, dried it out faster, end product slightly less gooey, but you can't scrape the sides of the dish because they get coated in soot.

Hope that helps someone!

Is there really any difference between this and what Rick Simpson does? I been making this stuff for quite awhile now and I must say Ive gotten pretty good at it :). I know Rick likes to use Naphta instead of Isopropyl alcohol. He also states you need to use good bud for it to be medicinal. But its the same process right? Im thinking about starting eating this stuff as like a dietary supplement after watching those Run from the Cure vids on YouTube. I put some on a boil I had under my armpit that my wife popped, and it healed up pretty darn quick. Im pretty sure it was the oil, I had less scar tissue than normal after too. I get these boils sporadically all the time.

Also, anyone know where to get those plastic syringes he uses at?
