So Ive been lurking for a while and now that I have my room up and going I figured Id introduce myself. I have some pictures of my room and the progress Ive made so far. Its not done yet and any advice or pointers would be greatly appreciated because after all I am here to learn

Anyways heres a list and a few pictures of what I have so far:

(1) 8 bulb High Output T5 fluorescent lighting fixture for my veg and clones
(2) Sun System Harvest Pro Elite 1K watt ballasts
(2) Sun System Cool Sun Reflectors
(2) Hilux HPS bulbs
(x) Botanicare Nutrients

The strain in the picture is some decent bubba my friend has had for a few years now Ill also get the other strains Ill be growing up here soon.










I still need to do the ventilation system but my step-father has a heating and air business so I was thinking of having him come and help me out with that.

Also I was wondering should I be worried about mold or anything since at the present moment I will NOT be putting up panda film?

Im open to all suggestions and advice Ive seen some of the stuff on here! Im somewhat new to growing my medicine but Ive had my hands in mycology for some time now so I know I have a greenthumb that just needs to be used!

where are you planning to vent everything out? and i would cover the carpet with something cause any water or crap could fall and create a mess for you later on. Looks clean and im sure your gonna produce alot of fun times in there

That Im not sure of yet. Possibly that window thats a second story room but maybe just into the attic?

What would be best for a room that I cant really tear apart construction wise? ( renting )

just my opinion but as long as you take pics of what your room looked like before and return it to the orginal way it was your ok to construct =) I would vent the attic out since heat rises naturally and venting outside could just present smell problems in general or if your getting FLIR camera cops in your area that would be the dead giveaway.

Yea Im having him come over tomorrow and check out some options for the room. Man looking at even more posts Im realizing Im gonna have alot more work to get my room ideal. Ive never used a whole room to grow Ive always used grow tents and tubs so the environment has been much easier to control.

Get them ballasts off the floor..

Lose the carpet..your just asking for trouble later on, especially if you are concerned about mold now..priming the walls/floor/ceiling with original Killz may be something you want to do before you flower anything..carpet will hold moisture, creating humidity, and is an excellent spore breeding ground, as well as a home for insects.

Concerning the stepfather..rule number 1 if you arent a legal med grower is NEVER TELL ANYONE. rule number 2 refers you back to rule number 1. Good luck if you piss her or him off.

You may want to consider a "room within a room" technique considering you are so familiar with tents and such.

I am a legal patient and so is my roommate. My parents are also patients so Im not to worried about that part but thank you all the same I watch out for myself and am in no way naive or stupid about being smart and staying under the radar. This is my first medical grow so I dont expect anything great but like I said Im here to learn so thank you

As far as using a tent I dont have the tents or extra money to buy those big things again. Besides I wanna be able to do this in a big room because this isnt gonna be the biggest Ill end up doing.

First thing id do is seal off that window so no light is hanging out at night.

Ya youll have to figure out something for ventilation if thats the route your going to go. You should really look into Sealed rooms..ill find the link later...

As for my window I have a blanket thats black on the inside and silver on the outside thats covering the window. Its funny how perfectly the heavy duty blanket fit but I checked and even with both lights and my closet running you cant see any light at night from outside

lol what you got a space blanket..duct tape that shit to the wall seal it up bro so you dont have to trip at all or even check.
And ya the floor idea is a must.. like mentioned above water and in your case DIRT can get all over the floor. Looking forward to seeing what that BUbba is!

lol I use aluminum AC tape for that bitch. Its sealed great!

I just took down my reflectors and hung up 2 more 8 bulb t5 lights so now the whole room is for veg until I flower Ill put the others back up then.

Best I can do for now and the space I have....Ill try to get a picture up

Oh also what would you guys recommend spacing wise for these t5's? The way I have it now cant be very efficient but its late and Im tired and dont wanna find new studs in the ceiling tonight before work lol

Ya no need to put up the hps lights right know those T5's are awesome..
Id run those fixtures side by side making a 4x4 square in the air and put it all in the corner of your room.. Get some wall anchors so you dont have to find studs and you can put the lights wherever you please!!

Nice setup like above stated do somthing with the carpet. plastic layed out and duct taped to the bottom of the walls would work.
