Things you remember teaching yourself to do...

It took me a few months in six grade to figure out how to move my ears, after laughing at my friend (who would always sit in front of me) every day and noting how it felt when mine actually moved...

I still remember the day I knew I had it down-pat.. the hour even. It was while the principle was explaining to me and my mom why I was being suspended for something retarded.

I remember my friends trying to tell me how to do the star trek live-long-and-prosper-thing

...and then sitting in church (catholic elementary school) fighting with my fingers to get into position... Once it actually worked I yelled YES and the friends that knew all cracked up...

I was deaf for the first few years of my life, but I only remember a few cue cards and sitting on a bench in speech therapy, and also a few salt/gravel silos on the side of the road on the way there... ?

Oh, and the first time I pissed into a toilet standing up I let go and firehosed into my face.

You?

uhhh the first thing that comes to my mind is gross and immature :)

Friends took my dads car out for a spin while they were away and I was 14ish...taught myself to drive stick because I had to get the car back before parents got home and caught me....

i spent several months in junior high school learning/trying to "gleek" .Its a skill thats done by shooting a thin stream of saliva like a squirt gun ,By simply lifting your tongue and moving it forward with your mouth open.I can get close to 5 feet ,took several months to get it right.Came in handy sometimes ,noone ever expects it....

I can't do it far, but I'm getting better at doing it for a long time - like 5- 10 whole seconds, but I can still only do it about once every 80 times I try.

A bunch of my friends can make little half-inch bubbles on their tongues, and then blow them away like a regular soap bubble. It's been at least 7 years and I still can't do it.

I can only gleek on accident. LOL.... I try and try.

I remember learning how to ride a bike with no training wheels. My best friend was a boy named Ben, a year younger than me and it pissed me off to no end that he could ride with no training wheels. So he taught me. I wonder what ever happend to that cat.

Me too. I've got a low-post, head-fake, bank shot that get's em every time. As soon as I get double teamed, it's off to the open man. A gleek would come in handy at that time, lol.

You beat me to the punch!! It is an art that is mastered over time and hundreds of tries. At first I couldn't do it (even after explanation) but now I can gleek almost 3 feet long!! Ahhh.... the stupid things that make men happy. LOL.

Here's a tip for you amateur gleekers out there, if you want to become a professional in no-time, you need the ammo to get you started. If you live near in a Mexican or Hispanic area and you can find "Limon" (miniature lime salt packets) this is the equivalent to an Atom Bomb in war. Works great!

Or any kind of sour candy is the next best thing -

My mouth just watered thinking about the damn candy!!

Although it looks "disgusting" it truly is a work of art ladies and gentlemen! As the saying goes - YOU WISH YOU WERE THIS BADASS!!

My special move is an UP and UNDER MOVE :D

The only guy who can consistly get it in my 25 years of balling is one of my BEST FRIENDS. We mostly play on the same team.

The tall guys eyes light up...I give em an up fake and show em the ball....They next thing they know I just shot a scoop shot right under their arm :D

I LOVE BASKETBALL :smokey:
