Waterproof connectors for round or square pots

Looking for something more dependable than Grommets to connect together 2 to 5 gallon pots with 1/2 tubing on the lower sides of the pots.

The connector for the ebb flow trays seals on both ends and screws tight.

This connector is perfect for square pots but may not be perfect for 2 and 5 gal pots.

Would using a heat gun to soften the round pot before screwing in the connector be a good idea?

Please post a link to where square black 5 gallon pots are available.

The photo shows a valve with perhaps a male piece from the electrical section and O ring on the inside of the pot?

3 methods so far:
Grommet
Hydro nipple
Hardware Store sprinkler and electric part hybrid

Thank you!

Uniseals are good - can be a bit finicky though to get a good leak free seal... But they're pretty much your only choice on round pots/pails... Just keep in mind you'll have to cut a not-round hole (more oblong) on pails... it's a fun project to cut em right, install without tearing...

Personally I prefer to use aquarium grade bulkheads... A GOOD plumbing supply shop will have them, most aquarium stores will have them in stock...

Thanks for the suggestions.

For connecting buckets together with 1/2 tube this is still looking like the best option:

Black square buckets would solve this seal problem 100% using simple Ebb and Flow fitings :)

Also placing the ebb and flow fitting under the bucket solves it but requires elevated bucket and res.

One system on Ebay has black square buckets and can not find any on Google yet.

The Aquarium Bulkheads look great. Do the threads match the white valves shown on the photo below? If so the Aquarium Bulkheads are good for matching to sprinkler and electric parts- and Aquarium stores may offer pipes and fittings which connect to bulkheads.

Uniseals and Grommets are risky and depend highly on cutting the hole perfect.
Sealing around the hole with screw tight washers on both sides makes sense.

I used 1/2 inch ebb flow fittings and they sealed fine - even in the round buckets . I liked the screened fittings too because it kept roots from trying to grow into the waterlines .
