Right now I'm re-reading Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain... hardly the deepest read ever but it's easy and fun. Some great stories in there.

also just read Remote by David Shields, I enjoyed that aswell...

Hahah, pretty much what I was about to post, some of the best books I read last year. Check out Rum Diary by Hunter too, it's pretty different from most of his stuff, strong Hemingwayish vibe going on there. That being said, anything by Hemingway is worth reading too, especially "For Whom The Bell Tolls".

Metamorphosis by Kafka.

For something a bit more political, On the Road to Kandahar: Travels Through Conflict in the Islamic World by Jason Burke was an intresting read.

If you like fiction do yourself a favor and read "The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch", it's the first of a series of 7 to be written, and it is most excellent I promise!

Also a fan of Hunter S. Thompson and William Burroughs for drug novels.

R. A. Salvatore for the fantasy lord of the rings type shit
