How to Garden By The Moon

Has anyone read the "Ringing Cedars" books and tried the planting method described? In the 1st book, Anastasia describes a method for planting seeds that kinda blew my mind. Here's what she states is the correct way to plant...

Step 1: Put one or more of the seeds you intend to grow into your mouth under the tounge and hold them there for at least nine minutes.
Step 2: Remove your shoes (and socks) and stand barefoot on the earth in the place you will be planting the seed(s).
Step 3: Remove the seed(s) from your mouth and place them between the palms of your hands for about 30 seconds.
Step 4: Raise the seed(s) up before your mouth and blow on it lightly, warming it with your breath.
Step 5: Raise the seed(s) up high and present it / them to the celestrial bodies for another 30 seconds (to allow the seed to determine the moment of it's awakening with aid from the planets to make the correct substances just for you).
Step 6: Plant the seed(s) by softening the dirt in an excavated hole with your fingers and bare toes (why? see below...) and spit into the hole as well. Afterwards do not water it for 3 days.

Just curious. It can't hurt to give it a try so I think I'll try this method with a couple of seeds this spring and a couple seeds my regular way of planting to see if there is a difference.

This is going to be tricky on a dixie ..

Hmmm, Read through it all for the most part. You have a nice garden and all. I think it had more to do with your green thumbs than anything else though. Keep up the good work.

If someone could answer something for me, what exactly about each phase causes these effects? Can those effects be measured to maximize their influence? Perhaps we could create conditions to repeat those effects regardless to the lunar cycle? Sorry my mind naturally likes more thorough answers.

Have a little faith in the Moon!!

We had a Mandala #1 planted on the third quarter fruitful, forget what sign, but all that matters is that it is fruitful. Anyway, it was a pretty good yielder, considering the fact that I did NOT have a green thumb and it was a shrimpy looking thing in veg.

But after Freeganja (my bf) harvested it, the roots were thick, white and fuzzy and wrapped around the bottom of the pot. It came out in one big lump.

The other plants that grew alongside it were planted in another sign, I dunno if not so fruitful but definitely not in Third Quarter and their root structures were not the same. They were Hazes, too, and should be quite hardy.

So, green thumb or not, I have faith (maybe not blind faith) in Moon Gardening. :dance013:

I just don't bother trying to explain how the Moon works. It does & if you wanna learn how to do it, read page 1, apply that knowledge to the phases and signs the Moon is currently in. It's just one more thing you can do to have better plants, and yields.

I am currently uploading new Moon Charts over at the Moon Garden Social Group, but am having difficulty loading pics last couple days.

I am gonna blame it all on Yummybud... hahahahahahahahaha.

I got my new bongs today in the mail, and have been testing them all out. I am not thrilled with any of the sight unseen choices I received, but the glass company is cool, and offered to send yet another bong or two free... so I can't complain.

Thanks for all the nice comments on my grow. It does help to have a green thumb and common sense.

Happy Valentine's Day! Don't forget I like candy... :)

In regards to my earlier post about the planting methods in the Ringing Cedars books, I forgot to state that I would still be following the moon phase planting method. It's just adding a little more to it by trying to get the "spirit" of the plant to form a connection with the person planting it. Planting by the correct phase of the moon does make a difference, at least with my veggie garden.

Whew! Started at 4 PM and finally got 1/2 done

Whew! Started at 4 PM and finally got 1/2 done

Well it took me 5 hours and 46 minutes to upload the Moon sign charts for Feb, Mar, April, May and June. Thank god I already had the discussions made in the the Moon Garden.

almost 6 hours to edit 5 posts. Dialup really sucks.

I hope ya'll get a lot of use out of them charts! :D

I am gonna go water my plants.

I found more damn spider mites in my grow again, just a few, and I slammed em with another dose of Floramite yesterday.

Since they are only beginning to sprout pistils, I am not too worried about smoking Floramite. I am hoping that these mites will be wiped out and I can finish me bloom with no more problems out of the devils.

and I was spraying around Safer 3-1 the whole time since the first Floramite 6 weeks ago... dammit... i hate spirder mites.

I am so stoned... haha spirder mites..

It's been snowing here again. Yuck. At least indoor night time temps are low enough that I can rock 2000 watts in my lil Moon Garden.

Love Ya'll! :D

I had already tried 5 times before to upload the info since last december.

The worst part is that Icmag server times out after about one hour of trying to upload pics with dialup.

Hughes Net is only thing available to me at 3GB they want $70 a month for DSL.. don't seem worth it to me.

You will notice a lack of pics, and stuff in my threads due to dialup.

I miss 1/2 of the pics uploaded by other people.

HEY: Guess what ya'll! I found this cast iron skillet was really old when I started cleaning it with EZ off oven cleaner tonite. On the bottom it says Martin Stove Co , Florence Alabama.

I think that that place rings a bell. I think they made stuff during the Civil War! Like swords and stuff??

My old family skillet was so blackened by age and use that I had no idea it was from the Civil War. Talk about getting your money's worth! It was my grandmas and probably she got it from some where. Who knows?

I am awful lonesome over here. boring boring here.

My plants are getting fat and sassy.

Hey Lola
Free also got a cast iron skillet, and it is caked and black! How well does the oven cleaner work for this? We want to start making fried chicken

Wish you were here! Puff puff pass my bowl of Deep Chunk :)

Here's the secret to getting them clean.

Self cleaning oven is best. Stick it in there for 2 hours.

or

EZ OFF Method.

Spray down the skillet with EZ Off, really thickly, place it inside a plastic trash bag overnite.

Next day, rinse it all off. If there is still crusted black shit on there, scrub with hot water and steel wool pad till it all comes off, or you can give it another day inside the trash bag with more EZ off.

Anyways, after you get it all clean and the crusty black shit off there, wipe it down with fresh Peanut Oil, and put it in the oven for 2 hours at 200 degrees.

Let it cool off, then wipe it down with more peanut oil again.

Then you are ready to use.

Don't put tomato sauce in it.

Don't wash it a lot, wipe out the grease and keep going to get a good seasoned pan that doesn't stick.

never let it drip dry it will rust bad. and you have to start over.

But self cleaning ovens are great for getting that shit off.

My skillet was made in 1916 era I found it on Google. It is worth $40.
