I just read the whole thread and boy you have done a magnificent job with these ladies...I hope ours look just as frosty and lush...the colours are just stunning, same goes for the calyx ratio, structure, bud density-awesome work...
I would be as proud as Mosca is too if I was him.

And I love the description of the smells...sounds just like my cuppa tea-get it-hehehe

You make me want to revert back to soil seeing these girls do so damn well in it.

Allright. I'll try to answer that one in a few more installments.
It all smokes smooth and all are fruity. The high is daytime kind of strong but I can smoke it into the evening or late if I want to stay up. The tastes seem to vary alot from the 6 plants I finished.
I get tastes of sour diesel in one. Almost a fruit punch sweet flavored one, on with a dirty sweatsock fruit, the rest seemed a generalized fruit. I have not smoked much grapefruit so I cant compare it to that. Once in a while I get a hit of real grapefuit in my nose from one, but its not each time; however I made some bubble with the trim mixed in with several other strains and it puffsjustlike pink grapefruits. Wild!


The truth is smoke reports come very difficult for me, especially with a test grow. As critical as growers tend to be of themselves and the herb, it can be very hard to be objective after tending them through life. I often find it puzzling to find the right words though I ponder them as I smoke. After all the most important part of a whole grow is how it smokes in the end. As in other test I've done I will try to get an outside smoke report to give their thoughts on the finished herbs.
Allright as I puff some right now, its sour. the tip of my tongue is a bit numb. The high is calm a bit visual and up. This one is one of the top 2 for flavor I think.
THis is the plant most like the mother of this cross from the pictures I have seen. What I will say abbout this one is that it is likely what one is after with this cross. THis girl finished for my standards at 7 weeks no problem. By week 8 there was more amber than I care for. First pic is at about 8 weeks and the second is the plant at 7 weeks in.
Sour, smooth, upbeat and just made me sneeze!

Next up is the most potent of the group in my opinion. She gets me far noticeably higher than the others. She seems to be in the bottom half for scent/flavor though. Not much fruit and expansive. Makes me cough!

Especially hoping for that GF taste like you explained...I noticed that they vary in smell too...some stronger, some weaker, some real sweet and then a rather rank smell but intruigingly sweet... Well in an attempt to help each other out, me and RM will be trying to write smoke reports on each others harvest, with RM testing out my hazeolopes soon. As mentioned by RM, it is hard to accurately gauge a strain that you have grown, which is why I also believe it is best to let a separate party determine how it is. So without further delay, I will start the testing process, beginning with pheno#1.

Test of GF Fly: Pheno#1

Smell: Upon breaking up the bud, there is a slight odor of grapefruit, with an underlying pine scent to it. It is very subtle, and pleasant. Overall, would be a good one to take with you on the go, as it doesn't smell outside of the bag.

Effect: For this part of the test, I started fresh in the morning, with a nice bowl in my cleaned out Sovereignty 4-arm gridded straight(see pic below), and was lit with beeline hemp wick to preserve he taste as much as possible. Dry hitting the bong before lighting gave a very light citrus taste.

With the first hit, you get the characteristically c99 head rush, which is very clear. After trying several c99 bx's and hybrids, I have found this to be a very common quality among the offspring tested. With the second hit, the head high becomes a bit more electric and tingly, while till remaining clear, as far as no body becoming present.

Each progressive hit after, just seems to re-enforce the electric quality of the buzz for me, making more alert and focused. There seems to be just a touch of speediness to it as well, though not in an unpleasant way.

Taste: It seemed to me the cirtus/grapefruit quality was definitely lost in the taste, as the underlying pine scent seemed to creep its way to the top, to become the dominant taste experience on the exhale. Damn tasty if you as me, I love pine!

Duration: About 30min for full effect, at which point the high drops off without any real comedown. This seems to be a common experience for me when smoking c99 crosses, as the high never seems to last real long, though it might also be because I smoke like a train all day While some might see this as a negative, I see this as a big plus. Mostly because, when I want to catch a good buzz before I have to do something which requires my full mental faculties, I don't want herb that is going to make me all groggy during the comedown. This makes it easy to get really high for controled periods, which helps if you have to schedule it in during the work day

Overall, it is a nice buzz to catch, before having to head to class, since I am usually 100% 'with it' by time I actually make it into class. Good for early mornings

Review of Pheno#2

Smell: The odor off this girl is much more subtle, almost not noticeable until the nug is broken up. At this point you catch just a hint of berries with the first whiff, which is followed by the same piney undertones present in pheno #1.

Taste: The taste is a very subtle berry undertone, which is easily lost in the general smokiness.

Effect: The first hit on this pheno, seems to be much more relaxing than the last, not as immediate. While still clear and up, it seems to not have the speedy component that pheno#1 possessed. By the third hit, the high has started to creep up a bit in potency, while starting to become not quite as lucid, a bit more fogginess to it. Overall though, it seems to peak a bit quickly.

Duration: The duration on this pheno seems to be on par with the last pheno, about 30min for me. Although this did not have as clean a comedown as pheno#1, as I felt a little odd when the high was leaving, almost anxious like.

Appearance: I will go ahead and once again let the pics do the talking here.

Smell: 6/10
Taste:6.5/10
Effect:6.5/10
Duration: 3/10

Overall, while the buzz is still enjoyable, I did not enjoy the anxious feeling that it left me with. Although it should be noted this feeling was very slight, and was only noticeable if you sat back and did nothing while smoking this particular pheno. I would say this pheno would be good if you needed to do some work around the house in the morning.

Review of Pheno#3

Smell: Having the same piney undertones as the other phenos, seems to be a common trait among this line, at least imo, and this pheno is no different. The main difference is, that there are very nice floral notes which accompany this pheno, though the overall smell is still very low, much like the other two phenotypes.

Taste: Nothing but light floral goodness here, very tasty indeed I would say that imo, this is the tastiest among the three phenotypes. Not a very strong taste though, but a pleasantly subtle taste. Very smooth otherwise.

Effect: The effects of this girl where pretty much identical to those of the first phenotype (see above).

Duration: Much like the first pheno, this girl also has about a 30min duration on her, with a nice clean comedown. Not quite as clean as the first phenotype, but overall much better than the second phenotype.

Appearance: Once again, check out this pics Excuse the fuzziness on this one.

Appearance: 8/10
Smell: 6/10
Effect: 7.5/10
Taste: 7.5/10
Duration: 3/10

Overall, I enjoyed this phenotype this most, as I really enjoyed the floral notes.

I agree with alot of what you found after sampling. Most of the pheno's have a similar effect and duration. The high tends toward being light and very manageable. I hope you liked playing bashball too!
