as i had started this over on another forum im just gonna copy over the first few posts

Hi guys this is my second grow, my last two ak48's yielded me 38 grams of very nice weed and my target for this grow with 5 plants ( hopefully all 5 sprout !!! ) is 1.5 ounces per plant I feel confident

here a little run down.

5 nirvana snow white feminised seeds all 5 have been germinating for 24 hours so far 3 are showing tap roots 2 have are opening still.

They are going to all get the uncle bens method of topping to get 4 main colas, as soon as they are ready to be topped I will be switching to 12/12.

I will post measurments of my box and pictures asap

hello again got a few more details here.

the grow box measurments are h 31" w 23" d 24" im hoping i can control the heat ok but if it is to hot i can leave the door open as its in my loft so doesnt matter.

i was very surprised as to the heat that kicks out of that 250w hps, plus on the ballast it says sodium/halide , so does that mean i can use both??? does it have to be a special mh bulb or just a normal one??

one seed has been planted as the tap root was an inch long but the others arent quite ready yet, but they should all be planted by the end of the night.

at the moment i have got the 250w cfl over the pots as i wasnt sure if the light from the hps is to intense for seedlings or not, any ideas on that please??

any way heres a few pics its all a bit ghetto but it works!!!!

i got the digital thermometer and hygrometer today

the temps with the lights on are at a steady 80.6f but the humidity is low at 25%

im not even using a intake fan just an exhaust fan so im pretty pleased with that considering the size of the box, but mind you my loft is quite chilly up there!!!

all 5 are doing really well i will post more pics tomorrow.

Looks nice, I'll be following. I have 7 bagseeds at roughly the same stage in a very similar setup, 250w and dimensions. I decided to go 12/12 once they sprouted since I'm limited on time. If you are vegging for a few weeks throw a MH bulb in there if you have one/access to one...

cheers bud more following the merrier im just gonna use the hps all the way through, im gonna veg them all until they have been topped and maybe try some lst'ing for the first time, so hopefully 2 more weeks and i will switch to 12/12.

im gonna try and make an even canopy that fills the box, you will see

I came home today to find the box at 90degrees !!!!!! The plants are fine though! Plus when using the hps the humidity is very low at 25% but when I'm using the 250w cfl the humidity flys up to 58%.

I'm gonna veg them for a while under the cfl. all is going smoothly apart from them all growing at different paces, I'm sure they are fine.

No more pics until Monday unfortunatly lol

ok today i was in the back garden where i threw the two ak48s i harvested from my last grow, and believe it or not the biggest plant has loads of new growth.

which made me bring it back inside and throw it in the grow box. if it survives im gonna be well chuffed.

will get some pics of her in a bit. now im kind of wishing i re vegd them in the first place.

the new growth is quite high up but the main stems are very bendy so im gonna pull them all down and if she does survive get some lsting on the go.

update day 15 "i think"............

i have decided to make my updates on sundays as im always at home doing nowt!

all is going well apart from i think they are growing slowly apart from one. on the plus side they are all lush green and healthy.

they are still under the 6400k 250watter thats only got 4 of the elements working but is still plenty bright enough for them.

as i mentioned previously the temps went over 90 the other day so before i start usng the hps again im gonna purchace a monster inline fan and may think about making a cool shade for it.

i have been thinking about veging them for a little longer and then just flower them out of the box so i can let them get alot bigger and using that cab as a mother box

any way heres the pics your all waiting for, god i cant wait till they start flowering!!!

Hi mate no I havnt, the soil has added ferts. They will be kept in these pots for 3-4 weeks without any feedings until I repot.

hello again everyone, there wasnt an update yesterday as i was partying hard saturday and didnt get to bed til 7 am as it was my bday, any way here it is lol

they all seem to be growing at a good pace now, i have had the same kind of problem as i did with my last grow, it looks like nute burn on a couple of the ladys, i havnt added any ferts so obviously the multi purpose compost i used is a bit to strong for them.

today i topped four of them after the second node to get 4 colas and the biggest got cut at the third node to get 6 colas but i may still try some lst on that one aswell.

first pic is them before topping and the second is after topping.

i think im gonna veg them for 4 or 5 days more then i shall be switching to 12/12

I would give them more time before going to 12/12 once they are at least 12", 6 internodes. 2 weeks I guess. More maturity should give you better quality, potency, yield in my opinion. Everything is looking good.

hi there mate i know that its better to veg longer but in my situation i cant.

update today as im sitting around waiting for my staffordshire bull terrier to have her pups, expecting her to have them tonight!!!

this grow is going really slow compared to my last grow with the ak48's, im thinking that this is just a slower growing strain and i wish i grew ak48s again

but on the good side it now moving again, when i topped them it had really stunted their growth they didnt move for about four days but now all the new shoots are going for it.

the four up in the loft have been in 12/12 now for 2 days as i couldnt control the temps without an inlet and exhaust fan, my wife is a very light sleeper and the fans were humming throught the house, so the lights go off now at 9pm until 9am, its not what i wanted but its all i can do

they have all been repotted as i was getting nuteburn for some reason, i have used the wests peat free stuff now and all is looking good, so far im not enjoying these snowwhites lets hope they reward me well.

one of the plants is going to be kept vegging in a little cupboard i have in my bedroom.

right i have been busy this evening making some changes!!!

i now no longer have to 12-12 them any more!! i can veg them up nice and proper as i do not need to have any fans running.

i have done away with the box and made a kind of tent covered in loft insulation to stop the heat being visible from any suspect helicoptors!! now i have alot of space to work with.

and the key to high yields is being vegd proper. the lights will be on over night as thats when the temps drop the most and will be off at 9am til 3pm

i still got a few things to tidy up but im kind of busy with my staffy which is now in labour!!

What's the temperature? Are they on the cool side compared to your last grow? That may explain the slower growth. I noticed you were in attic - my attic is very cool right now.

hi everyone today im feeling happy, when i checked the plants this evening they are looking so much better now that they arent in the box, that 250w hps was just drying it out in there to much and the humidity was going below 20%.

two had some really manky leaves so i have trimmed them off.

one of the ladys have a very distinctive indica pheno to her

the lights are on over night now due to the cold and the lowest the temps dropped to today was 58f and the humidity is steady at 60%. finally looks like the temps are jumping up

since yesterday they are taking of really well and i couldnt help but post a few pics!!! i will leave anymore pics until sunday now lol.
