United States / Medical Marijuana

Which state do you think will be the next to legalize Medical Marijuana in the near future?

Which state do you think will be the last/hardest to legalize Medical Marijuana?

Does DC count as a state? Or does it not count since MMJ legalization is a 'gimme' at this point? It's not a done deal yet you know. But the only way it doesn't happen is if Congress puts the kibosh on the deal. Wisconsin's next if you want to discount DC. Maryland should be neck and neck.

Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas or Alabama for absolute dead last. But Alabama has Loretta Nall, so more likely 1 of the first 3.

Well, the good pollsters like Zogby and Gallup are showing that full legalization has been at its highest in the last 40+ years. MMJ approval is well in the majority region. If we elect people that share our opinions, it should be rather soon.

I understand that there is a March 4, 2010 deadline for our bill
but we working hard here.

Will happen sooner or later but I believe we still have a GOOD CHANCE (51-49 that's still good odds right?) to make it sooner!

I think us in the South or in the mid west are gonna face the biggest problem. I think New York will be the next to go and last is probably gonna be Alabama or my home of Florida.

My vote for last goes w/ Florida too. Bunch of cranky, old, pussy assed ,shit-for-brains run things. Which is kinda ironic as medical would probably be most useful for all the old dudes. Maybe NY next, but it'll be real weak.

I think NY or NV are good bets for medical. The last to legalize MMJ? UT, hands down (though I'm sure there are a handful of others that are in the same basket and they'll all go around the same time, if ever...maybe when the Feds do it, they'll follow suite with the rest of the country).

Oregon

The first state to de-criminalize marijuana in the early 1970's assessing a maximum fine of $100.00 for 1 oz. or less.

Oregon was one of the earliest MMJ states with help from Jack Herer (mobilizing activists in conjunction with Oregon's Voter Power group) and George Soros (money - lots and lots of money).

Last state? Probably Florida or Texas. Too much money being made on the side of the criminal justice system.

That's my read anyway.

Soros is said to have "the presidents ear" right now.(adviser)
well, i wish to hell he'd whisper something good into it, or give it to someone that will! "shit or get off of the pot!" we got rid of Nixon, hope flourished, then died. we elected Carter, ditto. the last 3 presidents ALL smoked pot earlier in life, but "it isn't something that we are looking at right now". fucking hypocrites... :dunno:

fellow NYer here with the same hope, NY next
my big fear is NJ model will be NY model, which would suck
seems pretty quiet in the legislature at the moment on this topic, which likely means quiet deals are being struck
