SMALLEST CHEAPEST DIY Ez-Cloner - Areoponics Cloning

Helis! post it up when your done! I was thinking of a manifold but it just took away from the simplicity. Now after using the system for awhile I doubt It could make more than 6 clones. I will be needing more possibliy. I don't think my 132 pump could handle a manifold and another nozzle!

You would need a manifold and at least 2 nozzles to get more clones. How many were you planning on putting on?

Q:
Na the water is quiet. As far as the container I wouls say a small 2 gallon bucket. that way the thick walls muffle the sound ya know

I am aiming for 2-3 sprayers. I'd like to see it hold 12 clones but in reality it will come down to the container I use, or the size pucks I use. Would like to stick with 2" as they are readily available. I know you can make your own cloner pucks but some things I don't mind paying $0.25 for...
I am going to go container-searching tonight at the supermarket (decent selection of watertight containers).

mine wasent much as far as water tight, corregated plastic laying on top of a pot... wasent really tight. Someone could explain it but becasue of the lip on the rim the water made a bond to the corregated plastic and never leaked a drop.

Just wondering what kind of timer is needed, could I just run the pump 24x7?
Also I would like to use some netpots, hydroton and Rock-wool,to complicated?

Made one last night! We shall see how it works today!! I am going to try it on a timer, as my container is very small...should work great. Will let everyone know. Cost 14 bucks, and going to do a side by side with my bubble cloner. Take care.

Must be on 24 hrs!!!! Also that's why I built this thing, to get away from netpots, hydroton and Rock-wool! I used netpots just to hold the neopreen but I have cut the bootom of them competley out so water can get to my stem in there. why not just wait until the clone grow some roots then sick them any medium you want???

nice man fast and easy
works for me.
keep it green and simple.

Thanks!! bout to use it tommorow AGAIN!! if it aint broke, don't fix it!!

Cool! I bet you will like it better!! I have had 100% success.

Here's one insider trick I learned for this thing,

#1. keep the clones more to one side and kinda close.

#2. the water splashes off the sides of the container so keeping the clones close to the side helps.

#3. when your testing your nozzle position, just put it all together with the neoprene inserts and run it. Then turn it off flip over the neopreen and see if its wet... if there all wet on the bottom your good. If not try to tweak your nozzle postion, or lid/clone postion just a bit!

cool, good tips! Will let you know how it works tomorrow. I am going to try it on a timer, 15 on 15 off...because I got the 160 GPH and have a small 1 gal bucket. Should work great. Thanks!

Well the timer thing could very well work. I dunno though, you don't want those roots drying buuuut u do have bit bigger pump.

I would just run her 24 hrs anyways keeps the water circulating and warm!

I will determine that depending on how wet they get. Being a small container with a bigger pump i assume it will not need to be on 24/7. I will see how warm the water gets. What does yours usually get to? What kind of lighting are you using?

Not sure on the exact temp but just a bit warmer than room I assume. I will measure that this weekend though!

The lighting is just some CFL. I have no idea the wattage or spectrum, but it works. its the same size as a light bulb.......certainly isn't anything special!!!

Cool, didnt know how warm the pump got the water. Kinda cold here, so that will be nice to add a little heat. Thanks

OK new strain: Dutch Passion - The Ultimate

4 Clones, I need 100% sucess rate, and I never cloned this strain. I used clonex Gel this time just in case!

They are small and thinny! the mother was grown under a beater CFL! When I make a clone, all I want really is the top cola. One its rooted I will plant it up to that! Not going to try it this time But next time I will do just that+ just FIM the cola sticking outta the growing medium. Then I will have a serious bush right off the bat!

Lets see how long this takes!!

OK, I checked on my clones a few hours after I cut them, they were'nt lookin so good, then this morning they perkin back up! My last strain I never caught drooping when I cut clones.

Once they make it past the intial 24 hrs, i wont worry anymore.

was wonding though if you noticed if the bigger the cutting the faster it roots or vice versa.

Missed this question from awhile ago:

Well I think the bigger the clone the longer it takes because it needs way more roots to start growing. I like to think of using a clone to only pass the mj life not the body lol!

If you make little weennie clones like mine there ready faster. Also they can begin growing in thier medium properly instead off beeing based of a big chunka clone ya know?

My key senario would be a ton of roots supporting just that head cola comming out of the ground. Tha allows me to keep it really short right from the dirt. Plus I can hit it with heavier light because the root system can support the little guy for exsplosive growth! the nodes will be really tight straight from the dirt!

Every inch counts with LED, or anyone who wants to be efficiant as well.

Made one out of a 160GPH pump and had to turn it down! It was so strong the lid leaked, so dialed it down so it is not as strong. Put on timer 15/15 on/off, the container they are in is very small. I am sure it will work, if they look droopy I will just turn pump on all the time.

whats up bean. thanks for the imput. i always notice that the small clones root faster by a day or two but when the get put in the system they take longer to actually start producing visable growth, but i dont run dirt anymore i've switched to areo. love it, growth is sooo fast. grows went from 3 1/2 -4 months to 2 1/2- 3 with no decrease in yeild. cant ask for much more. the only thing i miss about organics is that taste.
