I have one of these coming up. Never had one before, does anyone know if they are worth keeping or if they produce better...worse?

Apparently it's a mutation where the arrangement of the leaves on the stem have 3 nodes instead of two. Kinda' cool,but......WTF? Don't have my camera @ the moment, will get pic here soonish.

They are great, keep it! They fill the space allowed to them much more evenly with less work.
Cool, that's what I wanted to hear! I'll keep tabs on it,male or female I'll keep the genetics,(assuming this mutation is passed on via breeding?) If not clones 4 sure. We'll see what happens. Thanks

plants that start off with 3 nodes per section 8 out of 10 are male

It is true that most trifoliar plants are male, but not all. I have a strain that puts out quite a high percentage of trifoliar ladies. A recent seedbatch had 14 out of 48. An interesting side note is that some don't even start out with a triple cotyledon seeds, but actually begin even triple tiers after some normal tiers! The expectation of trifoliar plants is always that the extra budsite would increase yield by 50%, but this seems not to be true. In fact, this particular strain seems to favor slightly smaller buds on any trifo plant.

So from what I've been looking at,and hearing from you guys here,is they are unpredictable. I can only wait to see what it does. Could be worthless, could be a bigger yielder. I'm curious to see so I'll finish it out and post some pics from different stages so you guys can trip on it.

My reply was a bit short and not so sweet. Had plenty over the years, never amount to much, never smoke up great, worth trying, I enjoyed growing them as they're different, but the results were crap.

No cap'n it's not wierd, it's just different gene pools. I got 3 triploid out of ten one time, if that helps make it wierder.

So I read that it isn't considered a triploid just trifoliate.... it would have to be tested for the 3rd chromosome to be triploid correct?

Wow!!!
I just checked all 3 PPP females.
Not one that looks like that.
If it is off PPP #1 I'll get a look at her in flower tonight.
Sometimes it's limited to a branch and not the rest of the plant.
Could be cool....take some cuts offf her and flower it out. Might build bigger buds???????
