150 hps but what kind of fan?

i just bought my 150 watt hps for my new cab, but i am a little confused on what kind of fan to get.

I didnt know if there was a guide for the CFM of a fan for what kind of light you have so i really wasnt sure. My cab is a dresser and im hearing all sorts of things about vortex fans but will i really need one? I know of a Stanley blower mod but is that too loud for my setup? Im looking for something quiet enough to be in the same room without having a distinguishable and annoying sound. Something powerful enough from keeping the hps from making my cab a sweat camp...Fans are all new ground for me so im trying to research all i can about them without asking alot of questions..this is the final thing i need to finish my cab.
thanks

dude first time around I went 150 hps with s&p td 100. WASTE OF MONEY, I bought a fan filter combo off amazon for 160$.

stanley blower mod is all you need. 50 bucks this thing is what I use now and should have started with(if size is not an issue that is). Moves so much air. I use the td 100 on my 150 hps still and now the stanley on the 400w cool tube wth filter! So like I said if size isnt an issue get the blower cause if your eventually gonna move to a tent or closet or just want to save money get it. It also has 3 speeds and two grounded outlets on the fan!

but is the blower quiet enough to not bother someone sleeping in the same room? ive never seen the blower in person, is there a size you could reference it too

But if you read that link I posted I think someone took their fan apart. Havent done it to mine yet cause no need. It is only those dimensions because of a weird looking handle you could cut off with a hack saw to save some space.

roughly and on its first two settings sounds just like my td100 but keep in mind man, I sleep in a studio apartment have a stealth dresser with the td100 and the blower is in another room in a closet. Cant hear the blower from my bed but you can here the td100 and in the other room you can hear the blower not the td. It sounds like a fan and you could make a muffler on the exhaust I guess but both of them are going to sound like you have a fan in the room 24-7. doesnt sound like a jet engine just have another fan or fish tank pump cover up the sound. Good way to cover up dwc too.

I went with the Vortex, only the 4" little dude. I was drawn by the 5 year warranty, and it is a rugged little sucker (pun intended), but even though I have it ducted quite a bit, the noise out the vent is still loud. Even though it's mostly air swoosh noise, it's not stealth at all. It does cool the cab alright but them are just loud little suckers.

im liking the stanley mod. the fish tank is a fucking amazing idea....just a small one tho because im not a big fish person lol

a 150-200 cfm Dayton or Vortex type fan hooked up to a solid state speed controller should suffice; works great for me. Temperature difference between inside the cab and outside the cab stays under 5 degrees Fahrenheit.
