LK is nice. Use it once, and you'll use it forever. Botanicaire has some very nice products<>

OP
I agree LK is nice but Roots Organics now has their Trinity, pretty sure that's the one, that is much more concentrated and also less expensive than LK...give it a try!

bud hardener

bud hardener

Not really related to LK, but is there any way to harden/tighten up buds when doing an organic based grow?

Although the strain does make all the difference in bud density, I have found that "Humbolt County's Own" has a fairly new line out that includes (not limited too) Gravity which is their primary bud hardener, and their new one Snow Storm Ultra which also promotes flower density and trichrome production. I HAVE noticed a difference since I started using the Gravity about a year ago, but haven't had a chance to experiment much with the new Snow Storm...apparently it's a mix of their old(er) Snow Storm and Purple Maxx Don't buy it strictly to make your buds "purple" though unless you already have a purple strain, I didn't see any difference that wasn't brought on by genetics and/or temperature.
This is completely off the topic now, but what does everybody here do about spider mites? I'm ALWAYS looking for a better way to control them...now I'm using Neem and Azamax heavy before budset then sparingly use Dr. Dooms Knock Out after. I know this is not completely organic (although still natural) and was just wondering if there was a better/cleaner way to supress the nasty little bastards! If you have my solution, please post it...Knowledge Is Power!

I thought I read for LC#1 If you already supplement with kelp and molasess that LK wasn't needed? isnt that pretty much what LK is or no?

if your still on the fence, apply it once and simply smell your plants the next day or 48 hours later or so-the magnificent scent-in veg mind you should be enough to convince you alone

LK is a great product, have a bottle myself. BUT, one thing i have noticed is that as soil is reused and recycled, the "need" (where i used to see it) to use LK is no longer there. When it is used there is no difference than when it is not being used as far as growth rates go in my observation. This is a good thing to consider depending on your soil mix, esp if it is being reused.

It's only marginally more concentrated, with a bit more P (.5% vs, .1%,) and .25% more humic acid (.75% vs. .5%,) but it has less K (.25% vs. .5%.) I do think the "less expensive" part is better, though, even if it's only $3-$4 less per quart.

I saw a side-by-side of clones in rapid rooters with/without LK and without looked a lot healthier. Maybe he overdid the concentration? Maybe LK is only good once a solid root structure is in place? I don't know. just saying.

I had the opposite experience when I did a side-by-side comparison of a few seedlings earlier this month. He probably did make the concentration too strong. For seedlings it's like 1tsp per gallon, 3-4tsp per gallon for cuttings. Of course, that's what the bottle says, so most of us will go down from there, rather than up. I did 1/2tsp per gallon when I soaked my cubes. Those seedlings sprouted faster and showed cotyledons first. I did notice that there was no more likelihood of sprouting with or without, but the seedlings with the LK did do a bit better overall once they sprouted.

I figure if you have the time, money, and space... Why not incorporate liquid karma into a guano kelp tea?
Guano Tea and Kelp:

Seedlings less than 1 month old nute tea mix-
Mix 1 cup earthworm castings into 5 gallons of water to make the tea.
Add 5 tbs. Black Strap Molasses.
Use it to water your seedlings with every 3rd watering.

Veg mix-
1/3 cup Peruvian Seabird Guano (PSG)
1/3 cup High N Bat Guano (Mexican)
1/3 cup Earth Worm Castings (EWC)
5 tsp. Maxicrop 1-0-4 powdered kelp extract
(That makes the "dry mix". You can make all you want and save it to use later.)
Mix with water @ 1 cup of dry mix into 5 gallons of water to make the tea.
To that 5 gallons of tea add:
5 tbs. Liquid Karma
5 tbs. Black Strap Molasses
Use it to water with every 3rd watering.

Flowering nute tea mix:
2/3 cup Peruvian Seabird Guano
2/3 cup Earth Worm Castings
2/3 cup High P Guano (Indonesian or Jamaican)
5 tsp. Maxicrop 1-0-4 powdered kelp extract
(That makes the "dry mix". You can make all you want and save it to use later.)
Mix with water @ 2 cups of dry mix into 5 gallons of water to make the tea.
To that 5 gallons of tea add:
5 tbs. Liquid Karma
5 tbs. Black Strap Molasses
Use it to water with EVERY watering.

let this mixture bubble in a container with an airstone before using it

I love LK. Sometimes I wish I was a plant so I could just chug the whole bottle. The smell of that stuff mixed with extra molasses is friggin dreamy! Pure earthy organic delight. For me, I found LK really helped with the taste of the buds. Seemed to make them stickier too.

The mix that dachieftain posted is the exact recipe I used. What a delicious mix, I loved brewing up those teas.

you know what also has a great fragrance? Atami's bloombastic pk booster. IDK if any of you ever had "Abuella's chocolate" but it is a dark chocolate disk that you can make hot coco out of and it is delicious. Bloombastic smells exactly like that dark chocolate. BE warned: It may smell good but don't drink it... I'm sure the fact that although it may be good for plants it will not be good for you.
