Clone should be fine, though it looks tiny. I would think about using a branch a little bigger as well as that one. Yes you use the exact same method of cloning as vegetative.

45 degree cut
split the stem base
dip cutting in clonex gel
shove cutting into root cube
put clone in humidity dome
wait 6 weeks

I had an issue a couple of months back where I lost my Papaya mom, and the only Papaya I had left were 4 weeks into flower. I took the girl out of flower and took about 12 clones, some as small as the one in your pic. All 12 rooted well and transplanted. They went into a reveg state and threw lots of twisted single-blade leaves typical of reveggers. I now have 2 really healthy moms (I'll never only keep one of a strain, you just never know what will happen. My mom died for no apparent reason...)

I'm flowering 6 of the others now and am vegging the other four for a big scrog. You will be fine taking clones in flower, just expect them to look really weird during their reveg period until they start throwing 5-bladed leaves again. Oh, and they take a little longer to throw roots than clones taken in veg. Give them a week or two longer than you normally would.

Ja bless. :rasta:

what does splitting the base stem mean?
and i dont have root cubes i was gonna put it straight into soil

You cut the stem in half about 1/4 -1/2 inch, thereby splitting it. Some do it, some don't. Some people just shave the end of it a little to get to the second plant layer.

Good luck cloning in soil, I have never had much luck with clones in soil.

I have a batch of clones going with no root cubes. I used a dixie cups, soil, rooting gell and zip lock baggies. Put the soil and clone in the cup and put the cup inside the zip lock and sat it under my light. Seems to be working really good. The zip lock baggie holds in the heat and the water and makes a very nice humidity dome over each cup.

I'd think twice about doing it in soil as the bud could very easily mould up with the humidity dome. Had mouldy cuts before and it really sucks (I don't think it matters so much with the stage of flowering you're at). I don't see why size would be an issue but there's no harm in taking more than one cutting for back up.

It's cool in coco and hydro tho as you don't need a dome http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=143894 i'll update that thread soon as I'm doing it agaian just now.

im kinda confused on the whole air layering and how that works.
guess i should get coco then? and hopefully this rooting hormone powder i got works as good as your gel.
and how do i keep it moist without a dome?
does the coco work that good in holding in moisture?

just cut that sucker. put her in a peat pellet/some coco...stick her under a low watt CFL....a week/14 day later hopefully you should have roots......
just keep in mind that your cut is in flower, she will take about 4 weeks to get back into veg mode,,,,you would be faster poping a few more beans.....unless she is a keeper, and your trying to keep her (mom plant?)

keep it green

Ya just trim everythig below the bud and leave the two top leaves+bud like a bud on a stick, you can trim the ends off the remaining leaves especially if they're touching the medium.

HL makes a good point about revegging it will take a few weeks to get back to veg mode. This isn't air layering btw just straight cloning, complete air layer bypass lol

yes im trying to keep the strain. i have to wait a couple more days till i can get the coco then ill do it.
should i mix the coco with anything? or just buy the coco and put it straight into a pot?

i have cut several clones off plants in flower. i found that the most economical way (for me) to clone is with a aeroponic cloner. you can easily make one out of a 5gal bucket, lid, 2in neoprene disks, and a pump and a few sprayers. no need to worry about rockwool, or rapid rooters. just throw the cuts in the cloner, wait for roots, then throw them in dirt. works great for me. so far 100% of my clones have rooted in my cloner :)

Seriously...? Spoon feeding is not necessary with all the info on this site.

search 'easy cloner' or 'aero cloner'.
