If this Decision Stands, You Can Kiss this Country Goodbye !

Yesterday, all notions of the People being in charge of voting for Representatives was destroyed, granting companies more clout in the political process than the citizens said Government is suppose to serve.

High Court decision could have chilling effect on candidates

Citizens United v. Federal Elections Commission

Rep. Alan Grayson: "If this Decision Stands, You Can Kiss this Country Goodbye"

~@~

Please take action ASAP on this issue, your freedom depends upon it.

So are you saying that corporations didn't give BO the 630 million he needed to become president? This has been happening the whole time, but now no limits, yeah let the games begin on a grand scale. I bet by the next presidential election if you don't have a billion or more you won't have a chance.

Take action? What, you mean like hide?

:hide:

NO, http://www.savedemocracy.net/

Congressman Alan Grayson has put forth six legislative articles that would reverse this horrible decision by the (R) Robert's Supreme Court.

We have filed six bills to reverse this assault, the "Save Our Democracy" platform.

In reality, how do you think this will change anything?

There is little difference between a Democrat and a Republican in the first place, and corporations are already using PACs to make major campaign contributions to both parties. I mean, Obama had to cut a deal with Big Pharma to even have a chance at getting a health care bill passed...

Wake up! You live within the illusion of democracy!

Excuse me, but this is the shit that has been happening for years, only now are you aware?

What broke the camels back was when these bought cocksuckers voted down term limits a few years ago, which was overwhelmingly supported by the electorate.

Now the biggy is healthcare legislation, but when they parade in front of the camera there is no mention of the average $200,000 big pharma has put in their campaign war chests.

What should have been the ultimate wakeup call was a year ago when they bailed out AIG, the banks, GM, all the while knowing this financial mess was directly caused by the US government.

I've been an expat for 20 years and thinking about coming back, but everytime I get the urge I remember these m'fuckers have lied to me since birth. Yeah right, Oswald killed Kennedy.........

This table lists the top donors to this candidate in the 2008 election cycle. The organizations themselves did not donate , rather the money came from the organization's PAC, its individual members or employees or owners, and those individuals' immediate families. Organization totals include subsidiaries and affiliates.

Because of contribution limits, organizations that bundle together many individual contributions are often among the top donors to presidential candidates. These contributions can come from the organization's members or employees (and their families)

Barack Obama (D) ~ Top Contributors

Percent of Contributions
Coded $284,530,535 (73%)
Uncoded $103,748,220 (27%)
Total $388,278,755

Harvard University $854,747
Stanford University $586,557
Columbia University $528,302

John McCain (R) Top Contributors
Percent of Contributions Coded
Coded $132,090,435 (79%)

US Dept of Defense $144,105
FedEx Corp $131,974
Bear Stearns $117,498
Lehman Brothers $114,35

I'm unsure what you are attempting to claim.
Are you claiming that our current President was bought by Corporate America ?

Free speech for persons is allowed corporations ?
This is as it should be IMO. And in fact am amazed it was ever thought to be different.
Jesus! So what? This changes what?
The videos the text of the link are just alarmist bullshit.
Corporations running America? This is news?

Move along folks nothing new here. Just some moer rhetoric for the fire. means fuck-all. Some one declared any juristic entity is entitled the same rights as any other? And this cause for alarm? Fuckig whingers. I am always amazed at people that demand freedoms as long as they fit their own personal mold. Sorry folks. This is just a fact of life, changes nothing. Rep Alan Grayson needs a few lessons in civic IMO.

I guess that it's OK for NORML to have it own freedom of speech but not Ford Motor Company? Bullshit. I am moe irritated that my government had to waste the taxpayers money to argue, debate then decide something that was crystal clear in the first place. The people you disagree with have the same rights as you. Deal with it. Just because they have more money is no excuse to gag them.

From the comments, it appears Americans are fricken cowards and not willing to stand up and fight for their Constitutional rights and Freedoms. Keep sitting on your hands and enjoy the Government bought and paid for you.
I can bet that not one of you even bothered to listen to the two video's I presented which explains this debacle.

You think things were bad before? Watch what happens this next election cycle and then tell me if you still want to allow Corporate America to buy the Congress and the Whitehouse, leaving the people without a voice or representation.

For all the others who actually see this as a threat to our very way of life in this country, support Rep Alan Grayson by calling your current representatives and urge them to support the proposed legislation offered by Rep Alan Grayson.

Hey we only got acouple years till the end of 2012....its all over then anyways or so they say.....how much worse can it get, sounds pretty negative but its not really a dem or rep thing its a corporate greed thing and it aint goin away. Every major "society" that has ever come to power has eventually fallen, it is an unstopable flaw in humanity that will always cause this failure. While most peeps reading this atleast maybe respect karma. Unfortunately we got a big shit sandwich that karma has served up on a silver platter and we are going to end up having to help eat this piece of crap thanks to all the greedy bastards that caused this....we are going to end all getting a bite if we like it or not. Thats just my happy outlook on stuff. Thats why I stay heavily medicated......so I can stand to be a US citizen.
On the flip side I do find it odd there are still tribal societies that have thrived since we where still dragging our knuckles, its wierd that tribes that actually work together and care about each other make it. Societies whos morales and love for thier fellow man have become diluted or completly forgoton will become over ran with negative energy. I believe that negative energy breeds in societies like mine (US) and can only lead to negative results.

Them having more money is an extremely valid reason to gag them, their money allows them to actually be heard

Perhaps you are unaware this ruling overturned 103 years of precedence? Perhaps you are unaware this ruling overturned McCain-Feingold ?

You like to talk a big talk but, it's obvious you don't have a clue as to the reach and scope of this decision.
Perhaps you should actually READ the ruling before you go dismissing it out of hand ?

Americans are pretty apathetic. Get them to read something longer than the back of a cereal box? Thank you Owl for highlighting this serious situation... This is not good.

Man I wouldnt say that...thats kinda harsh and pretty broad. Most americans our sick, most of us know our system is broken.
Unfortunatley its only most of the smart ones that have figured this out or refused to be led by the nose. There are alot of dumb assholes voting that buy into all the crap they see on tv. That was meant to be harsh too because the shit we put up with in this country is enough to make your head explode, and if you are not pissed off and sick of the crap....well im sorry I called you a dumb asshole....the truth hurts. Americans have been lied to forever, most of us are no more than cattle to the rich corporate fucks that run our country. You can not blame current gererations completly, it took alot of years of propaganda and brainwashing to get to here. Our politicians are coruppt, I dont care who it is. Why do you think the founding fathers gave us the right to bare arms.........well Ill give you a freebie its to protect us "the people" from a tyranical runaway government......hmm. Its all scary shit but really pointing fingers will just feed the perpetual wheel of negativity.
Peace and love

Here's a live example of how the bolded part of your quote is manipulated at times:

The WI press has been extensively covering the proposed MMJ bill for the last few months. And the public opinion needle has been moving in the right direction.

One of my theories on this is that people who have not had an opinion on this subject are now forming one because it is in front of them in the main stream.

I also like to believe that some of these very same people are choosing to become proponents simply due to seeing through the rediculous postions opponents are taking.

Back on point - Tuesday, Jan 20, there was a memorial/rally in the Capital 1st floor rotunda followed by a lobby day.

Hundreds of people were there in support. The ACLU took part in the lobbying.

Notably absent was the press. Yes, they were notified of the event.

You can read more here if you care to, but this link is not my point.

http://www.examiner.com/x-30194-Mad...dical-cannabis-supporters-go-on-the-offensive

My point is - this is how they do it.
