US Starts to Abandon War on Drugs!

SHIT your not wrong-excellent post Bazarocka!

"Evidence points to aircraft – familiarly known as "torture taxis" – used by the CIA to move captives seized in its kidnapping or "extraordinary rendition" operations through Gatwick and other airports in the EU being simultaneously used for drug distribution in the Western hemisphere. A Gulfstream II jet aircraft N9875A identified by the British Government and the European Parliament as being involved in this traffic crashed in Mexico in September 2008 while en route from Colombia to the US with a load of more than three tons of cocaine."

This is what happens when there are government agencies that work under a veil of secrecy, that don't have to answer to the people! I thought (naively) after that whole Contra scandal that this wouldn't be possible, obviously not.

It really is time to draw a line under 'the war on drugs',also known as 'the war on happiness'?

Peace. REDEYE

Having recently read "Mr Nice" I thought perhaps there was a certain amount of 'artstic license' with his dealings with the CIA, although I'm not too sure now!

Importing the stuff and then sending those who buy it to jail, that's just disgusting. And entrapment... ?

Ok does this mean that there is going to be more border protection at the US Mex border? I mean that's where most of this stuff comes in. It doesn't surprise me that the CIA ran drugs. I wonder if the 9/11 planes were CIA planes...

At least we can count on the UK to bring us decent news stories from our own country.

i think they mentioned in the article its being kept low key in the US media, probaly a good thing so all the prohbitionists dont start kicking up a fuss

the sad thing is there is going to be alot of blowback in the form of more drug lines opening and operating with more ease and the war on drugs advocates are going to say, "see, our war on drugs was working, look whats happening now"

administrations can switch every 4 years so dont get your hopes up. an overall policy shift now could easily reverse in time.

I dont follow you: Explain above comments please (im old and dont hear good) And Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm this War that SHOULD have never BEEN started in the 1ST place. Is well overdue to end.:smokey:

I would like to add people---There IS and has been a movement going ON for years to correct the unjust laws that have been posed against Cannabis & Hemp it self. It took me 40 years to learn what many of you CAN learn in minutes, these days. And Im NOT talking about the cultivation aspects. Im talking "The History"
I urge you to read a friend of mines book, "The Emperor wears No Clothes" By Jack Herer. Then educate your friends and relatives. Have them do the same.
And then bombard your local congressional representative with petitions and letters;;;;;;THEY HATE PAPERWORK, they really do. You have a PC,,,it's so simple these days.....

Negative Vibes when such good news-----UUUUummmmmmmmmmm,,,,,,,,I say "THE WHEELS IN MOTION" +++ KICK IT UP A GEAR....

The writer is clearly a far left radical. He mentions how part of American territory once belonged to Mexico, as if that's relevant. He says the Israeli barrier is "causing havoc" between Israelis and Palestinians. The barrier put an end to suicide attacks, so the only people it's causing havoc to is suicide bombers.

I bet this de-escalation never makes its way to slashing the DEA's payroll. Or any other government agency.

boss of the campaign, announced he would not be using the term "war on drugs" any more.

Now that I believe. Stop calling our overseas operations "War on Terror" or "War on Drugs" is the type of change I can believe in. Stop calling it a WoT, send 50k more troops.

For their part, the Latin Americans, under a new generation of more self-confident leaders, are tired of being hectored about their failings by the US, the world's principal source of cannabis whose agents continue the drug dealing they indulged in during the Iran-Contra affair of the Reagan years.

This means the South American governments know we're stretched thin by the WoT and think it gives them more room to breathe.

The problem with legalizing drugs and making it a "health" issue is that the same people want to make health care a universal right funded by taxpayers. So somebody can't handle his dope and he becomes my financial responsibility. The libertarian argument for legalization has to be joined at the hip to the idea of responsibility.

There is one negative aspect of this report. They are pulling agents from foreign countries, which means, there will be more agents here in the U.S.

From my perspective it just looks like it's going to escalate the war on drugs in the U.S. It's going to get worse before it gets better.

Even if the approval is below 50 percent, it is still major group that wants it legalized and anything over a certain ammount should be considered a major group and should be legalized because it is still popular and the certain ammount say 15 percent is a huge number in America.. And we all know it's much higher than fifteen percent ha

Now your getting it.
Perhaps maby the underwear bomber has the same type of connection. I got $100 says that an unadulterated version of the security footage at the Amsterdam airport never surfaces even though they admit possession of it. It appears that someone didn't entertain the idea that the plane might not go down and that there would witnesses. Now the feds are trying to discredit the main witness. Why? I have a pretty good idea and you probably do too.
