What's new

heavy bud, 45-55 day flowering?

I did a few searches, so sorry if this has been beaten to death

what are some strains that bud heavy, and ripen in 45-55?

I grow in 5 gal soil mix (the fox farm "3 bag" everyone here uses), and run a 1000w hortilux.

VERY small grow space= 4'X6', so I can fit about 9 to 12, five gal containers, using a mover to run the light back and forth over the 6' length.

I PERSONALLY like indicas, or indica predominate strains, but I would trade a little dankness for some weight.

I hear that BLUE DREAM buds fairly heavy, and having tried it recently it smokes very nice,....is that a good choice?

I'm in the SF bay area, and have a doc's rec/ocbc card, so I can go to clubs if anyone knows of a certain club/strain I prefer to go that way and NOT mail order seeds.

thanks in advance for any pointers in the right direction, as usual this forum is a great resource.

I am currently looking at autoflowering strains:
The nice thing about this is it passes directly from the seedling to the flowering stage altogether and does away with the vegetative growth stage or so I have read and heard. I have no experience with them but think this might be the way I go.
Examples: Lowryder,Ducksfoot,Buddha seeds. Ducksfoot was recommendation from the guys at seedboutique.com

I have a separate cloning/veg chamber, so when I stick em under the 1K they are already about 8"-10", I usually go about 3-4 weeks veg, then cut it back to 12/12.
(been doing 9-10 week purples)

I was THEORIZING, that if I had a strain that would flower heavy, I could get away with only 1-2 weks veg under the 1K, then go 12/12 for 45-50 and get a crop every two months give or take a week.

THANK YOU for that AK-47 tip, if I see some cuts on my annual "cut hunt", I'll grab one.

anymore?

I have a local so called cut of ak47, it is a 9 week strain. I also had 7 females of serious ak47 and still have 5 of them. One out of the 7 could be pulled at 8 weeks buts its not the best plant out of all of them. If you want short flowering plants, look at BOG seeds. Bogglegum is bogbubble x nl#5, nl#5 is a hardy vegger, and has some stretch to it. On the bogglegum pack its listed 44-49 days.

Well I think just about any short flowering strain can produce well with enough training and veg time..
I have a 48 day sativa called Double Gum that is fn sick..
I also harvested a purple wreck that looked like trainwreck, little bits of purp, at 7wks and they are rock hard nugs.. still in drying so I dont know the dry yield yet, but its def over 2 zones, prob 3+.. and is covered in trichomes.

sweet blue: 6 weeks
chem dog double diesel: 8 weeks
mango haze: 8 weeks
yumboldt: 8 weeks
grape krush: 8 weeks
O/Mountain mix: 7 weeks (husband's strain that used to take 8 weeks and is now finishing in 7).

We researched this exact thing when we bought seeds and went for the best intersection of short to medium flowering time, weight, taste, and high.

you could get yourself some early queen if you want to get something that comes down well, early.

Heavy bud at 45days of flowering? It's a shame if you don't let it go longer . . .

Usually, if you let em go longer they'll only get bigger and better, so you could say something is "ready" at 55 days with a great high, but I'd imagine it'll still be better if you pushed it farther.

Everyones idea of ready is different, most of what I see out there was picked too early, but most of what i see on here was picked just right.

Good luck in your search!

Plenty of 7-8 weeks strains are dank. Try Mango 45 daze... very nice!

one of my all time faveys,....but I only see flowers in the clubs, or mail order beans

I would LOVE some mango

my current run is grape ape,..and although it's a "55-65 day", I found it COMPLETELY READY in 45, I let it go another 5, and harvested on the 50th,........it's TWICE what I got from p erkle, but I see these pics in here with friggin 2 lb HEDGES!! so I figured I could switch strains, get the 50 day flower, and still keep my favorite head smacking stone, AND hopefully 2lbs from my 1K setup

if I could get 1.5lb from a crop in LESS than 60 days, and have it be decent smoke, I would die a happy man.

with my small space I REALLY should be scroggin', but the grow area has very poor access to the rear once the girls get over 24", so I wouldn't be able to work it correctly once it got established.

this is why I started this thread, to see if there are 45 day GOOD quality plants that flower HEAVIER than my usual purples, and in less than the 10 weeks my GDP takes.

and thanks to you guys I have several choices, IF I can find em,....thanks again for all the help
