Anyone got any pics of the Breeder Steve Sweet Skunk? it's supposed to be NL/Haze x Sweet Pink Grapefruit which makes it part of the Haze family, I hear if it's left 90-100 days it's amazing.

You never cease to surprise me mate, I read than the Sweet Skunk is a killer NL/Haze hybrid and within the hour you turn up with the cut!

It's supposed to be fairly common in vancouver. There are several seed versions, notably Island Sweet Skunk but I've read a few comments that it's inferior to the original cutting from Steve. Apparently they used NL/Haze plants from the same population the male Steve used to make the Sweet Skunk came from.

Hey Guyz

There are some pic of sweetskunk sol cut ....

It is called "energizer bunny" in Canada hihihi

Indeed it needs 80-100 dayz, depends how you grow it

Smell/taste is piny/lemon/Hazy, when you smoke it in a room and you came back in , you can be misleaded , it smells like piny incense/hazy.... love it

Federation guyz really love to take a known cut cross it , and backcross it a lot of times , like island sweetskunk , romulan , spg ... i think breeder steeve wrote a letter where he said that he was really bored of the buisness ... and seedbanks like federation

Few nanners tough :whistling: .... but sterile to me

I LOVE leaves of sweetskunk

You can definitely see the nl/haze in that cut, it looks like a slightly shorter, fatter nl/haze to me, nice work guys, looks tasty.

Never Heard "the story" about Insomnia Haze ...

Maybe indifferent is mistakin' with anesthesia whiich sounds like amnesia cross of a dutch breeder, but it's an afghan/skunk from positronic x herijuana , so nothing hazy at all...

Dunno guyz :dunno:

Anaesthesia sounds rather interesting, the Herijuana is the strongest indica I've ever grown. Can't see any insomnia with that one!

I decided to jump on the bandwagon and germ some SSH beans! lol

Yeah man, those shots illustrate very well how the Skunk has influenced the structure.

The 303 cross looks wild, how was the smoke?

to decipher the code is easy. 5 is nl5, sk is skunk and a or c is the haze male. i do not see any of these with a skunk haze parent. could u please direct me to where shanti says ssh is nl5haze x skunk haze

btw g13xHaze didnt combined really well . That is one of the reason nevil sold it only for the first year after releasing it . If it combined well he would have kept at least some seeds but he didnt . He kept the g13xsk1 which combined really well compared to the g13xhaze but g13xNL was also very nice . The cannalope haze really looks like a c99 at the bottom of the seed list there is g13 x haze. at least 1000 were made available to me

Any comments? :)

Any of ya'll tried Neville's Skunk yet? I may of found my new favorite strain, at least until I find the next one.

It is killer how these old genetics still hold up. This new recombination is as good as anything out there.

Edit- Nev's Skunk is (Neville's Haze x Skunk #1)

Man I just cloned a haze plant I have outdoors, it was bagseed from some "really good haze" a friend gave me years ago. I've had her since. I can't get rid of her, even tho she flowers so long and I think I will never grow her indoors again (I always have a couple in the mix), she gets compliments from everyone who smokes her. The sandalwood incense smell fills the room and no smoke smells so nice, even non smokers have complimented the smoke's aroma

quote from headman i believe b4 my time here

interesting to note the incense traits in haze recognized from the og's

id sure lov to kno more about that clone

Any comments? :)

What are you getting at?

I must say, it's becoming tiresome trying to work out what you are hinting at when you make these kind of posts where obviously there is a point to them but you aren't telling us what that point is.

Hey Indifferent,

I'm thoroughly enjoying your posts. I don't know if this helps, but I think there was a thread that Rosey Cheeks started that had a pretty good comparison of the Island Sweet Skunk and the Sweet Island Skunk (one by Federation which seemed more Sativa and the other by NGSC, which seemed to lean more indica). I know there's a more expensive seedline that's closer to SOL's vaunted cut available-- I just never picked this one up. Was there really Grapefruit in it?

I think what Raco posted with that table was useful because it shows many of the combinations that Shanti was working on.

Best Regards and thanks for posting your knowledge!

cinderella99

as for the chart as unc says those crosses were disreguared for the special selects such as ssh mh nev ,soo nothin was of much importance from those crosses

but i find it interesting that hph used the A male n that makes her all more desirable to me

That list is just a list of seeds Shanti sent to someone, one of many gifts he's made over the years to folks. he handed out Hashplant Haze seeds by the kilo in Spain a few years ago.

For example, on that list it has G13 x Haze C from 1990.

Are we to take it as an indication that the G13 x Haze that The Seedbank sold was G13 x Haze C or did Neville also do G13 x haze A and only sold one of them? Which one?

Like I inferred earlier, Raco's post just muddies the waters and I wondered if he had any further comment to make as just posting the list on it;s own is somewhat mysterious.

Not having a go at Raco at all, I have the utmost respect for Raco and I'm sure he knows that.

I just find his recent posts in this thread somewhat mysterious, like he is trying to say something without actually saying it. I was hoping he would further elucidate as to what points, if any, he was alluring to.

Hey this thread is awesome, always nice to play around in the murky waters of history and see what truths you could separate from all the misinformation floating around.

@Raco - That was a good list posted. One can see all the different crosses Shanti worked, on. Nice link to that old haze thread as well.

hi everyone again, I am new here and kind of new to the world of internet herb - if that means anything, just got a good camera within the last couple of months, my team and I have been doing our Hazelberry strain for a few years now. Trust me it is hazy.:smokeit:
picture.php

Blueberry Haze aka Hazel Berry- typically ready in 12-16weeks. This strain is a stabalized hybrid, that has been grown outdoors in an equilateral environment where it is almost 12/12 all year around. This strain has in its ancestry Purple Haze from NYC, Caribbean Sativa-Red Beard, Jamaican Skunk-(Sativa Dominant hybrid), Blueberry with a pinch of Kush. This strain took over 3 years to stabilize and has been in production for 4 years now. Selection was very biased and based heavily on resin production first with plant vigor second and yield being last. Some plants when topped will give you red, and pinkish purple color sap. 12/12 from seed will give you 3- 7ft tall plants, growth is very vigorous and huge thin fan leaves can sometimes have up to 13 blades.

picture.php

Every year the buds comes in 3 distinct different colors- Gold, Chocolate/red/purp, and green, much like the original haze, the chocolate pheno with a black peppery minty taste with berry backgrounds. The Gold pheno sometimes bright green sometimes golden with a more dominant mint/berry scent and flavor. The Green pheno tasting slightly more skunky, very minty as well. Regardless of color the smell and scent of this strain is nothing short of hazy, The taste remains in your mouth long after smoking and the high lasts anywhere from 2-5+hours depending on personal tolerance. This strain has been back-crossed and inbred for the last 7 years using the best genetics the caribbean has to offer.

Golden Phenotype :varies from bright green to light golden Incense of berry and sharp mint, even skunky backgrounds-- leaves you licking your lips and tasting your tongue, very sweet. Taste just like candy, high is either smooth, clean and relaxing, or strong narcotic type high that induces a mind travel type of high. All of this of course depends on individual tolerance and proper pheno selection as well as cure. Smoking too much will knock you out as well and you get the-- munchies guaranteed .

Chocolate Phenotype : varies in color from dark red, with chocolate / purple hues smells like black pepper, with backgrounds of burnt rubber, very sharp and spicy taste, always sweet too. Smoke is very expansive, this is one for the greedy toker. Sure to have one taking baby sips instead of heavy draws. When grown and cured properly. :)

Sativa and Sativa hybrid lovers will not want to miss out on this strain, I am sure you will find keepers. We never clone, but every year we pretty much get the same varietys through out the year. So would like to see how they would do in other parts of the world, and particularly in an indoor environment.

Peace and one love, smoke the herb and keep a humble thought. HAZE ftw!

regards,
BT

Nice photos and report Bloody Treez

let me get this right cos id always thought that Amnesia had some NH in it, as did arjans ultra haze's, and that they were all genetically pretty close... im reading that the Hypro amnesia is actually a SSH pheno and is generally indica dom!?

All i know for sure is the cut (hypro) that DocLeaf speaks of is defo sativa/haze dom, buds are pure hazey in structure and smoke is tasty tasty indeed!

Yeah mon ,, sure is,, i n i flowered the indica type ,, and we only cloned out the sativa ,, much to the annoyance of the commies..lol

Happyhi,

How did you do it in the 70's in Santa Cruz (with the OHaze), Free pollination or just selected the best specimens (by looks or whatever) and then inbreed them?. In case you have the knowledge cause you said you where only growing.

Just learning the old ways.

the method of growing is contained in the original haze poster i posted in the past i'm sure you can find it.
i never did any breeding, was privileged to be given the seeds each year provided i never made seeds which i respected, which is what it was all about back then.
my mentor pollinator selectively, using the best female and male each year.
peace/hh
