Trellis sounds like a good idea. Due to the plants being top heavy in the 4" net pots, would you recommend the 6" net pots for those wishing to replicate this setup?

probably wouldnt hurt to step it up to a bigger pot.
only problem i would see in that is you may be cutting to much out of the tub top and making it flimsy...
i want to see how well the trellis helps out, i may just use the trellis each time.

Don't worry about the top, you can make your own from foam board, but the plastic lids don't mind. This photo shows 2 x 8" net pots in one 18gal tub.

Peace, :joint:

Good job Kelly. If you need extra stem support, just tie a rope around the stem and pull it in the way you want it to go, then tape the rope to your lid with some foil tape. I just use pool noodles, no net pots or anything. Ropes and tape work wonders for top heavy plants. Good luck, and great idea with the zip-tied trellis! I might have to give that a try next round.

thanks for all the input, please keep it coming.
anyone else build one like this?

Hey Kelly. Kudos. I am making the same system you have made. Parts are in the mail. ^^
I am curious about how high the water level is kept inside the tubs. Do you keep the water level below netcups (how far if so?) or run water through them?
thanks in advance.
