Why not have it both ways?

Grow out "elites" so you know whats out there and crack some seeds to play around with unchartered territory?

For those of us that can't go to a club and order an ounce of "chemdog d", a specific OG , or Pre98 Bubba Kush, the only way we can find out first hand whats up with a specific strain is to try it. And if I hatch some seeds that are Bubba Kush x?????????, I want to be able to determine, first hand, what characteristics the seed has of the mom and the dad....and to do that, I need to know what bubba kush is all about by itself.....

Nothin wrong with elite clones... There's a reason they exist.

Can bagseed possibly pop an elite plant? Yes, that can happen too.

Different strokes for different folks. Tried n true vs. the unknown.

Not sure where everyone on this thread lives but here clones are King carrying the best phenos that have been found in the buds. I guess your going to have to do S1's . I agree with him about how ppl act about strains and cuts it's a bit much and you have lots of assholes holding onto great strains because they are greedy, lets face it. I liken it onto a dog breeder , if you breed the dog doesn't mean your the owner of that breed LOL .. peace out Headband707

some people don't have the space/time to pop 300 seeds to find a pheno thats already available in clone form,

by the thread starters logic you shouldn't even buy seeds,go find some land races and get to breeding... strains don't "pop out of thin air"

There is nothing in this hobby as exciting as a seed run. And nothing quite as nice as finding something unique/special from your own breeding endevors.

To knock an elite or those who posses them, and calling those who grow them sheep is just silly. I have just as much chance at growing/finding a so called "elite" plant in my garden as the next seed cracker. Finding it, and SHARING it with others is the key. Don't hate on people who share the good shit LOL.. What makes a plant elite is the fact it's been shared, many have grown it, and a good majority find it to be top notch in some regard. I have no issues in trying a plant that's come highly reccomended by my community, while cracking seeds, and searching at the same time

Don't hate on elite plants for certain peoples character flaws.

"Elite" clones are "elite" simply because:

A) ....Smoking these clones has left an INDELIBLE impression on those that have smoked them....and they are BETTER THAN ANYTHING THEY HAVE EVER SMOKED....

B) ....There are many more people that want them,than can get them....
(Ie. "Supply & Demand")

i was given some elites and ran them to see what the notion of elite was

and look seems people kept and got these cuts out for a reason

does it represent in any way your worth as a grower ?? fuck no

does it invalidate the value of elite genetics ... fuck no

in fact most its kinda altruistic of the community to get elite genes in the hands of the average hobby grower like me

if your so confident your bagseed is so good get it out to the community and perhaps the energy will be returned to ya

but dissin the work that other risked their freedom to get to others
