Weed in Mendocino county is said to make 90% of its economy. If it's legalized and that money goes away, you think a few tax dollars are gonna replace the billion dollars lost? Not a chance. This will not only bankrupt tons of families, but entire cities. Public schools will be a thing of the past.

On the off chance it does happen I'm opening a hydro store.

I've already posted on this matter, but if it's legalized I would start crying. Any money you thought about just went down the toilet. MJ is not all about money, but it does provide for a lot of people. It truly is a wonderful plant, physically, emotionally, and financially.

I think under the right regulatory model it's still possible to make money. But the law of 'it takes money to make money' will always apply.

So start saving now for that permit!

The politicians have a stake in keeping the price high. I expect a drastic dip, but not price collapse. They want the money as much as the growers do and they have the power of taxes to maintain that stake.

Realistically if it is fully legalized, every grower on this forum that grows for anything other then personal use is out of a job.

Anyone that thinks they could open a clinic/boutique/have a market for 'quality' etc etc are simply kidding themselves. Commercial enterprises with pockets deeper then that of small countries would swoop in and own the entire market. I for one would be out of a job and probably screwed.

And businesses are used to doing things fast. I know some people who say "well I'd go big FAST and beat everyone to it." No, you won't. Maybe one harvest, till a company opens a warehouse with 700,000 watts and busts out enough bud to cover an entire region of the country.

I kind of imagine it like the end of alcohol prohibition, but with far more reaching consequences. Will it be pretty, no. I fear not. History shows us that paradigm shifts in society ruin many, while lay the foundation for many others. There are always losers. I lose all the time lol.

MJ has always stayed the same. Our (humans) relationship changes with perception, as with all substances, but because we are only in the infancy of the information revolution, who knows where this boat goes.
