ztz-go to a farm supply store (if you have one) and you should be able to buy huge bags of perlite, cheap.

deviant-is this problem you're having...the same strain as when you grew it in dwc?

bos-yes this little problem we had, certainly will effect the total yield of those in question plants. With this perpetual set up means that it will be about a week and a half before the next plant is ready and we're back on schedule with harvests. I'm really glad to be doing this perpetually. Seems to be pretty forgiving.

hey, ztz, i bought 4 cu ft bags, about 30 gals volume each, at a bulk agro place that supplies greenhouses and ornamental nurseries. it was 12 bucks a bag. if you go to www.perlite.org you will find a list of manufacturers. an email to one of them will get you the names of suppliers in your area. the masonry and concrete perlite is very fine. you want coarse grade agricultural.

deleafer2220, sphagnum is a bad choice for these as it is acidic, as you mentioned, and it compacts during a grow. coco, vermiculite, or turface would be much better choices to amend perlite. you will like coco/perlite mixed. maybe 30/70 or 50/50. turface works great mixed with coco also. same ratios. turface can be obtained in bulk at turf supply places. coco at ye olde grow store.

Dubwise, yes and no, to the same strain. I finished the dwc strain, that I was having issues with a few months ago. I started these in dwc, then switched over to hempy buckets. Since the switch, I have no problems till now. The strain that is givin me this problem is, Alaskan Ice, before everyone says that's the problem, I have a great pheno from this one, indica Dom. And looks to finish in the 8-9 week range like stated. Btw, I'm at week 7 today, if it does finish in 9, when do I begin the final flush, a 2 week flush right? So do I start now, or when it's done at 9 weeks?

start the flush now for a 2 week flush

I 2nd that.

We've started messing around a little bit with flushing for three weeks to see if we get a difference in taste/yield. I imagine that each strain has a magic date where your've added enough nutrient and you're adding too much.

Foliar Feeding

Foliar Feeding

Sorry for the double post....Does anyone here foliar feed any additive or just to give a little more humidity in the room? It's very dry where we are right now and I can't seem to get my room up above 18% right now. I've not used this application at all so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I flush with regular water. I have great water from a well and so I flush with it and it seems to be just fine. I've not used clearex or anything like that...I'm sure they work good too. Never had any problems with plain water.

bostrom, nice buds! and root mass! how big is the container? which strain is that?

3 week total veg?

i'm struggling with extreme low rh too, dubwise. i don't normally have to deal with it here so i don't have any way of managing it except top watering a little extra. and shooting plain water all over the floor. fortunately, i have a concrete floor with drain holes. i'm going in twice during lights on and running water all over the place.

Hey delta. Thanks, it was Permafrost grown in a 5G, the roots are laying on a 10G tote. Im going to reuse all my medium. 3 weeks in the 5G, but it was in a 2L for about a month or so before. I have so many damn clones right now, im thinking of doing a 10G tote with nine stuffed in their. i have about 18 that are 2 weeks in a dixie cup (plus about 15 with a month of veg), and there only 8 inches high now, but who knows

I use LiquidLight on occasion, for veg under the T5s. Without the penetrator it doesn't work as well for HPS (burns the fans a bit).

Sucks to have the low humidity, it def wicks liquid a lot quicker from the hempy mix.

So after doing a little bit of research, I shouldn't be so worried about low rh in flower this time of year....around 22% is an avg. I was thinking that it was worse then it appears to be. Are any of you dealing with lower rh percentages and if so, how are you dealing with the issue?

Finally received my 400 and coco, i ordered sunleaves coco block, but they sent Empire instead. After reading some reviews, it appears better. Anyway tore off a chuck big enough for a 5G bucket with a 70/30 P/C mix, and also a P only 5G for kicks. I was considering soaking the whole block and mixing with the perlite to a 20 or 30% coco mix. But was guessing id have to keep the mix moist, any thoughts?
