In response to the person who asked why Multibox in an online game. I play MMOs, I do not multibox content but I multibox to level up alt characters. I make one account, level a character to max and then use that character to run my and my wife's low level characters through dungeons and such.

To the person who claims it is stealing, I must join those in asking why you are on a growing board?

As for a Landlord noticing 1k 12/12 changes, I highly doubt it. Even the electric company won't note that. Now power fluctuations in the area of 5k+ on a 12/12 switch that would raise some flags I would think.

Let me say....Ive been growing for longer than you have been alive....

The power company isnt going to care.....

The landlord however might....

The landlord has access to the meter..... so the tenant is gone.... and that little wheel is still spinning like crazy.....

For those asking whether I should be posting on a grow board...

It still remains an incredibly stupid statement....

no matter how many ask it.....

IMO this is a den matter and not a grow matter.....

what's a den matter?

By his signed lease he is entitled to electricity. If there is no cap on his usage in the lease agreement he could be sitting up there sticking forks into the outlets, and every time they melted or blew back into the opposite wall, replace them.

If he's not playing the part of the good tenet and get's himself busted it's on him. But, if he wants to look legit, take what's his and grow a little, well I guess that's on him too.

We're here to support each other.

I find it irritating that you, Burnt Rope, who have zero idea how old I am, who I am, or where I come from would make such a blanket statement. It tells me a great deal about your intelligence, nature, and demeanor.

I think in light of that I am done with you. I do not spend my time arguing with people who are so obtuse. Cannot do a battle of wits with someone who is obviously unarmed.

I also hear that excessive usage of the ellipsis makes you sound more intelligent, but it appears you got the memo.

I leave ALL my electronics on when I leave, pcs are usually compiling data, compressing files or converting files, and at least I know in my case my landlord does not check the meters, or even waste their time.

If you have encountered a landlord that does read your meters and question what you do when you are not home I suggest highly that you look into moving. Most people who are adults and have a stable head on their shoulders have found a place to live where they are not watched like a teenager on house arrest.

Well I love irritating you too....

By the way I did read your posts..... you are on or just finished your very first grow..... not sounding very old on that note.....

Me on the other hand have been growing 35 years.... was a mentor on OG and have never been busted.....

Im sorry little gal that you irritate so easily....

Normally I dont involve myself in silly threads like this....

but I thought I might point out that a landlord just might know how much electricity a small ass apt uses because he looks at the bill every month....

I suppose it raised a red flag because this has happened to me....

beyond all things..... we need to keep safe.....

maybe you object to that????

Not at all do I object to safety Burnt, but I am sorry to tell you that being late to the grow party does not make one young. Young in the ways of growing by one's self perhaps, but I was raised by a pot grower, grew up around plants my whole life. For all you know I am nearing 50 and only now decided to go ahead and make the change to self sustenance. Age and growing time are not tied. To even indicate you believe so again tells me a great deal about your character, none of it good I must say.

My age have I not disclosed on this forum. I could care less if you were the OG guru god, if you act like an a arsehat I will call you to task.

I do not irritate that easily, I just find your tone to be that of a self righteous arrogant prick. And to be honest, there are other growers in this very thread, who's helpful nature and friendly manner shone through. I, like them, see no trouble for the young chap with his grow and a single 1k watt in an apt. Nor do I think his landlord will be outside staring at his meters daily.

And again I will reiterate a couple things. First, overusing ellipsis do not actually make you sound intelligent, it makes you look foolish, at best. Go back to school, take an English course and learn to punctuate with more than ellipsis rather than spending all your time in the pot. Second do not make such broad assumptions about people based on what tiny bit of information they choose to share about themselves on a forum for people who savor their anonymity. Third, keep your advise constructive and helpful. Your short run off sentences, ellipsis happy writing style and general lack of helpful statements makes it very hard to think of you as any sort of mentor, let alone take you seriously in this thread. And finally, the young chap in question; who wishes to grow; is the only person here who can determine with any level of authority if his landlord is bothersome enough to be checking his meters. If his landlord is that up his arse, I am certain he would have some allusion to such in his life and only he can decide if those are red flags enough for him.

From my personal experience with VERY high power usage, including in a studio all utilities paid flat. They do not seem to care. And if they do, I would think you would have other warning signs about an all too nosy landlord, and would be prompted to move to a place where your privacy was somewhat respected.

Edit- To emphasize my point I give you what my daughter said upon seeing what I was replying to. "Is that guy slow or retarded? The way he talks reminds me of the black kid in the wheelchair in Malcolm in the Middle, "I...have...troubles...talking."

BurntRope, your continued ignorance and child like mentality astound me. If I were a constant and avid forum goer; I might be inclined to smell a trollish nature in your words. But, alas, methinks you are not a troll, merely someone with a anger management issues to work on. Note the calm, collected nature of my posts, and the rambling, irate nature of yours. Broken thoughts, half finished sentences and insults. Who looks twenty my young friend?

I use a "emotive" under my signed name on forums. It is, to me, used as a way of conveying my emotion at that time of the day or at the time of my posting.

Your question my character and age, speak in broken sentences and indeed use an ellipsis consistently. It is alright that you feel the need to add a fourth dot to each ellipsis in this last post in an effort to ditch your habit. Three is the average.

"The triple-dot punctuation mark is also called a suspension point, points of ellipsis, periods of ellipsis, or colloquially, dot-dot-dot."

As for how old I act, I find it odd and bemusing that you would attempt to light me as a youngster. Endearing to a point but terribly wrong, I am in my middling-late thirties. Which is saying more than enough on a forum such as this.

Now please cease trolling me and continue to speak about the topic at hand lest a moderator find the posts insulting enough to warrant a lock down of this thread.

On topic, my last post stands, I stand by the good folk here at ICMag who answered to the young man that he would be likely to encounter no issue.

However, even though he has acted out to a degree, BurntRope brings up one point to consider. As you are not paying your power bill, you must ascertain for yourself, whether or not your landlord is likely to note it. IF you have a very nosy, up your arse landlord you will want to be careful and moderate the power useage to the least notable level. If they are very hands off out of your hair, go for it if you feel they will not note.

and still together enough to be greatful Im not......

This frankly isnt a nosy landlord issue.....

its leaving evidence about that can put you in jail......

Having your electric bill double...imo might just cause a give a shit less landlord to become a nosy one.....

Burnt rope, your coming off like a pompous assclown, get over yourself.

Dopey go ahead, 1K will be just fine.

I ran the numbers for 16 hours @ 1000 wats...

because we all know there is veg time and other electric use.....

that was just about 75 dollars a month....

It was done at 15 cents per kw hour.....

Remember the usage will be at the incremental rate..... not the base rate.....

This could easily be double the normal monthly bill....

What this guy does is up to him..... but no matter how you look at it.....

You might as well look at the facts.....

O

ogatec

you should be ALLOT more worried about smell than the power usage in an apt! a 1k grow will produce clouds of stink, a carbon filter will help, but not eliminate ALL the smell..

If you know your stuff and are here to help great, all I'm saying is you might want to check that ego a bit.
You have brought up some good points, but your doing so in a manner that says your opinion is the only right one, and all others who disagree with it must be idiots.
That's no way to win friends and influence people.

crap like this has me looking for a handyman special... only problem then is that the bank technically would be the landlord. at leas the utility would be separate and no surprise visits.

i believe that if the electricity is included you should try to respect that the landlord it trying to help out, rather then tearing up the place and having to charge you more for the separate utility installation. repairs and maintenance will eventually cause the cost of living to go up for the tenant, so the landlord can have a comfy living. this can get get very expensive if the bills are included. now if a an other tenant or even the land lord was to be raided because, you were growing (pigs can get confused) it could cause serious consequences. the good people here are just try to teach others to take full responsibility for there actions, because in the long run it is safer and smarter.

pay all your bills on time and keep it a secrete.

In my experience, the only time I have gotten utilities included is when there is no meter.

The landlord isn't "helping out", he is making a business decision not to install a separate meter. Guess what that does to the rent? As stated previous, the contract is the contract. It defines right and wrong in the relationship, not your imagination or any winks and nods.

Business is business. Your landlord is not your friend, buddy, or peer. Follow the contract to the letter and you need not be concerned with personal ethics. If either party is displeased they can ask to renegotiate the terms, which is at the discretion of the party receiving the request.

I've translated this post, for certain special folks:
