I made 2 crosses...for a "look see"
I couldn't decide which would give me best chance of picking up the Black again.
So..I had a red stemmed F1 male on the same genetic line that the Black came from..
and a red stemmed female @ f2 from the black fem ibl..
so...
F1 (red stemmed) male to
F2 (red stemmed) fem = BX1 Black DC line..
AND..I had a white fem f2 with a white male f2 cross IBL to give me the
F3's to hunt in.
f2 (white) fem to
f2 (white) ,male = f3 Black DC line...
My bet with myself was..if I cast my nets wide enough on the F3's..I'd pick it up there first..guess I was wrong...
And pipe..and..and..and..
remember I had you checking your Pure DC's for a distinguishing leaf trait that I picked up on the Black pheno only...
well..2 of the 3 in that pot are showing the anomoly already..and the 3rd looks as if it will too...
I'm delerious..

Since she is the first to show sex..I have to assume the others are either girls or non-af..so I have put another pot-full in to germ..see if I can pick up some coloured AF males
I have a good dark AF male on the F3's too...
so I am going to pollen strip him for a wee bit of back up..just incase

No probs Mr.Meds...I hit it in the JEM's and lots of help/work from my Friends from f1-f4 says that we think we pinned the pheno down to the Afghan content..
(There is also a Kush/JEM project..just incase it was kush content)
it not only alleviates the symptoms..but it is an energy giver too..

Nah HHH..I have had to re-jig my normal placement.
There is only one place where it is possible to gain acccess..so I have the security light and PIR pointed to that wall and I will extend the watering system round the other side in time for spring.
Girls have to move to stop the ripper...boo..spit..but you have to be sensible.
Wish I could afford to glass in that side..but I cannot so hey ho.
A camera is next on my list.
They are reasonably cheap now..so do-able.
I fancied one for ages anyway...just to see what the girls get up to when they think no-one is looking at them..

I have finished ALF#3...ALF#4 (ALF#3 + DC) is well underway..

Aye pipe..that frame structure is the highest yielding frame that I have found in the AF's up to now...sati or indy..mass bud sites.
I have a few of the girls on it now.
It gives highest yield in individual pots.
Both the Betty and the Bud-wide-er are on the same frame...the variation on their looks is the difference the genetic/cross brings.
Bud structure/placement/frame is exactly the same...(so is White Wizz)

Have you seen PTK... Very indica plant.. It was perhaps more indica in appearance than the DC... Leaves were wide I tell ya... Tufty as tall fescue...

The 3 Pine tar kush are the 2 plants behind the DC (red tag, 2nd row from the front...) and 1 in the front left.
Keep in mind the structure and the internodal spacing on these will be more loose since they were grown closer together and in native vegetation...

did she finish with a matt colour or a bright..?

Sounds like you got your bases covered mossy. I didnt really think till after i posted that the light schedule shouldn't matter for AF's. But if you had a few long season girls out there it would affect them. I'm really digging the leaf structure on your DC cross. Looks as if those leaves may cut your finger if you get too close ha. Maybe keep the rippers at bay? jk...
Beautiful PTK pics pipe. I too have always read about and had a soft spot for that strain. Maybe someday I will get her in my garden. Itd be cool to cross her with an AF though.

guess who fell asleep @ 10.30pm and didn't wake up until the dog was going bloody frantic with the fireworks @ midnight..
so I missed it..

so I like to make a few..put them through their paces..and see which combination performs best...before I hyb.
Because (most) canna are such mongrels..it amazing what variation you can pull out of most crosses.

In my opinion so far, they seem healthier overall. The yellowing is due to the lime I added, caused lockout. Next round I am ditching the lime altogether. But the true test will be in the smoke. I shall let you know in that department.
Bottom line so far, I think it was worth it.
If you can't find fox farms, make your own soil. 60% peat moss, 20% worm castings, 20% perlite. Give or take on the amount of compost.

so I am going to check it out.
I think some of my germ probs may be down to the compo I had to swap to this season..
(you been sending me gremlins..
...)I changed to an organic..but it was so bloody dense that the water pooled on the surface before it would penetrate.
I lightened it up with some hydro balls because perlite is giving me problems..
but I am still nnot happy with it.
ICC recommended a batmix..so I managed to get some of that and I am about to trial it...
an I will checkout the link from Mr. Meds..
might cost a fortune to get it shipped from the UK because of weight..but hey..you never know.
Always boils down to yield/taste/effect in the end..
but they look as if they are carrying a lot more weight to me..
