Pruning Damaged Leaves?

When you prune leaves that are more than 50% damaged by burn or pest issues, do you cut the tip of the leaf off? (just the damaged area) cut at the base of the leaf? or cut the whole branch where it meets the main stem?

Thanks...

If I prune at all, I only take the leaf (to the stalk) that is >70% damaged and will never feed the plant. Or, I may take a leaf or 2 from the absolute bottom of a plant is there are plenty of feed leaves and I need a bit of air circulation.

In other words, I seldom take leaves off the plant.

My recent first grow put me through a lot of plant and environment problems... If leaves were dead enough to come off when I lightly tugged them, well, they were taken off. Usually happened to burned/dried leaves.
Other than that I don't remove leaves.

We just pull at them.. dead, old and infected leaves usually pull away from the stem easy.

Hi Chronic,
If the leaf still has green left on it...then I assume that there's still some stored nutrients there. Once they're totally yellow...then the plant probably has sucked all the good stuff and I remove them.

Cool, i think trimming a leaf is okay as i had 2 leaves, both with burns at the tip, i just trimmed the tip of one leaf & left the other, one the one i trimmed it stayed green, on the other the whole leaf died....

These were very small baby leaves though if that makes difference

So maybe pruning damaged parts & leaving the rest is okay?

Wait...What?

let the plant mine the leaf entirely for resources before removing the leaf. if the plant doesn't immediately give up the leaf when you touch it, its not done with that leaf yet.

and anytime you remove a leaf the plant is using, you reduce yield.
