Two bozos stealing power

I'm just throwing up this recent story as an example of what not to do. Want to start small and simple? Get a 4k room and rock out 30 plants and aim for 4 pds. That’s a good start. Good way not to get overwhelmed with high electricity costs.

The older most successful true growers and dealers out here gave me some good advice last year. They said " there is absolutely no reason to be dishonest with me or do stupid things LIKE STEAL ELECTRICITY"

I don't care what your older electrician tells you about his knowledge base of stealing power. It just is not a "good karma" way to go about growing.

what about if you would steal the power, then donate to the power company the same sum of electricity you consumed or more? just an idea.... that could be like a loan only you pay them extra at the end as an unknown donation.....lol people need to smoke thats all im saying not enough good herb around or people growing it so if the electricity bill only lets you have 1k per room.... means a lot of people with nooo bags of weed like myself scraping resin at the moment... so big timers do your thing! just make sure you donate or give back so karma don't get ya

I think it more lies in the the fact that some of these operations are so large that stealing power brings less attention than buying tons of diesel and fixing big ass generators. I could be wrong though im not sure what kind of red flags are raised if you pay for 200 amps of continuous electricity usage in a house.

It's just another risk that isn't worth taking unless your in the crazy 30kw+ club.

Nobody likes paying $2k+ per month but it's what you gotta do.

step 1) get bill
step 2) pay bill
step 3) continue growing.

I wonder if anyone has stolen power at a non grow location to charge massive batteries (like you would find at hydroelectric dam for backup power), then use those to power the grow.

I put up a post like this earlier "how many grow lights can you put in a house" because I was on the same path. I didn't want to steal electricity, I wanted to pay my bill, but I just didn't want the power company to look at my usage and say "what the hell are you doing in there" and call the proper authorities to check me out.

Perhaps some growers steal the electricity so that the power company doesn't bust them anyway for growing weed. I don't do it, I don't agree with it, and I'm on the same path as you all are. But you can understand, maybe the growers are scared of the power company.

But if a grower is stealing power because their cheap and they don't want to pay their bill, then to hell with them!

The two fastest ways to get busted in this biz are

1. tell someone
2. steal electric

Everytime someone in my area gets busted, it's always because someone turned them in or they were caught stealing electric and the grow was exposed when the police came to find out why.

Then what I don't understand is all the "spikes" we hear about in electric companies. There was a guy who had a great graph chart showing the spikes in electricity from power consumption (having 8k in lights turn ON for 12 hours then off).

I believe that power companies are in it for a profit, and I understand they have privacy clauses not to release your information to authorities unless a search warrant or investigation is provided, but why do so many people worry then?

In most cases, why would anyone even steal electricity in case they were scared of having power companies rat them out? I know if you pay your bill "you'll be fine", but what does that apply to? Running 4k in lights in house? 4000w is not much, what happens when your running 10k? Do you just pay your bill? Its difficult to digest that without thinking there must be something wrong here.

If the watts were calculated over a months usage, then it's o.k. There would just be a bunch of watts used and you pay your bill. But if they can get some kind of visual, wouldn't that be a dead giveaway? Then I can understand why they steal electricity. Although I don't agree with it.
