How does this bill ensure that drugs won't get into the hands of children? It can't, drugs just aren't going to disappear. I believe most of the drugs that are ending up in their hands are prescription drugs, not cannabis.

I'm beginning to wonder if this wasn't the liberals plan. Knowing this would infuriate the cannabis community allowing more to jump aboard his movement. Knowing also that they could stall the bill in the senate, waiting for the right opportunity to arise such as the military cover up and awaiting the Harper admin to self destruct under the headlines.

if you ask to the average canadian if he agree with medicinal mj and global decrim , their answer is highly favorable. ask if they think ignatieff can do a good prime minister for canada and you get an inferior result than if you ask about mj decrim ....

I want them to name one presedence in court of sombody selling pot/drugs to a child. I don't think it's ever happend.....Why in the flying fuck would people sell drugs to kids? It doesn't make any sense. 12 yr old kids don't have alot of money, they would make shitty "dealers" because you could walk up to them and push them over and take the drugs with out a problem.....So who the fuck in there right mind would involve a 12 yr old kid into any kind of drug related activities? It's never been done, theres never been a court case for sombody selling pot to a 12 yr old.

^^ agreed - in all my years of being around the scene, I have yet to see a public-school aged kid come into a dealer's house and ask for drugs of any type...

And here anyways, (small city/town) all the guys I used to know (before I became a gardener and began providing my own) would have turned away anyone that young.

Things may be different in big cities tho....IDK. I'll just call what I see.

Even if it can be made to sound like all our kids are grouping up at dealer's places like flies at the proverbial shitpile... the best way to avoid underage use is legalization and regulation.

Dealers do not ask for ID...

When your a dealer or a grower you leave yourself open to ppl that might rip you off. It's those elements that your protecting your children from.

Here is something that circulated on a list serv I am part of. If Health Canada is challenging the dose you are applying for, here is a sample letter your doctor could use to send with your application or renewal. Hope this helps some of you.

your doctor to "verify" dosages or to be on guard against "typos" in the
daily dosage amounts.

I think that it could be helpful if persons applying to the HC program
and/or renewing or amending dosages have their doctors also write a short
cover letter such as:

"My name is Dr. __________ and _____________ is my patient. This letter
confirms that the daily dosage set out in the enclosed application/renewal
is FIVE (5) grams per day [change as needed, but be sure it is BOTH numeric
and spelled out]. I am aware that Health Canada suggests that most medical
marijuana users average between 1 - 3 grams per day, and I am aware that
Health Canada publishes a document called "Information for Health Care
Professionals" on its website. Please do not delay the processing of
_____________'s application/renewal for any reason as any delay could
adversely affect _____________'s health.

Health Canada is of course free to contact me to discuss this matter. I am,
however, quite busy and may not be able to timely return the call. Also, I
do not have permission to share any patient information with Health Canada
and _____________'s application/renewal should not be delayed for any
reason, including any desire by Health Canada to contact me.

I,ve been into a couple hydro shops in the past month and the ppl. working in them say they never heard of C-15???...And to ask any friends or ppl. in general I,ve met one guy who knew a little bit about it....only because he got busted a month ago with a grow almost finished (30 plants) and the cops told him about C-15 and how happy they were that soon they,ll be sending ppl. to jail instead of house arrest...so the word def. isn,t out in my neck-o-the woods.But i,m telling anyone I know so the word will get around.I actually printed off some info to pass out to friends so they will understand it better....Seems it has to get more news coverage which at the time doesn,t seem to be taking place or they have it so screwed up that a lot of ppl. don,t pay much heed to it.
I ran into Peter MacKay (MLA for my area a few weeks ago but didn,t get much chance to speak with him,but I,m gonna make an appointment to see him and to tell him that the PC,s will never get my vote again along with any of my family,s vote...I,ve known MacKay on a first name basis for many yrs.as I used to live near his family when he was just a kid and used to fix his dirt bikes for him.
For the most part I can talk on a casual basis with him....he always called on me when he was working his way into politics yrs ago when he was a crown prosecutor in my area.........I know he is also scum now like the rest of them....but I,ll get my chance to give him a good run-down for the monster they are creating.
