UK Outdoor Growing 2009

Hey everyone!

Another successful year I think!
WAMs strains were the nicest smoke out the lot, the LebxCheese was particularly nice! while the Lebxkush was the biggest yielding.
My c99 mother did finish but with very whispy bud so not really that suitable for outdoors, maybe would be better in a greenhouse. The grand total I reckon was just over half a key which I think is my best yet. :D

Ive had chance to play around with trim a lot this year. Ive made some bubble hash, or tried to! I bought some cheap bubble bags and they're toss! So my advice is just pay the extra and go with the brand one. The hash turned out green, even on the finest mesh showing the high plant matter content, still smokes alright though.

Also made some oil using lighter fluid. I didnt reralise that it is naptha untill recently. Apperently naptha is a much better and cleaner solvent to use as it disolves less chlorophyll than isopropyl alcohol which I can see. Much clearer and browner than when I've used isopropyl before.

Hope everyone is well.

Now the indoor fun starts.:)

Hey dudes!! Damn I missed this place...

Real life caught up with me and then it was harvest time and...well, you know how it is. Next thing you know it's almost bloody christmas.

Thought I'd drop in and dump some pics of my outdoor 2009 ladies.

First up, Bubblegum from Serious Seeds...the picture is taken indoors but she spent her whole life outside. I love this strain and it's plain for anyone to see why it's been given 4 cannabis cup awards...it's fu*king awesome!

picture.php

Next we have Purple Peace from Green Ambassador by way of Soulfly1 I think...as I have said repeatedly, I love the Purple Peace...it's reliably early, it's pretty, it's a lovely smoke but the variation between individual plants is off the chart!

picture.php

And the last update for this session is a shot of the entire flowering garden taken on the 25th October. The purple one on the left is a pot-grown Hawaiian Webbed Indica and the big green ones in the back are ground-grown Hawaiian Webbed Indica.

In the foreground is a patch of small Auto AK47, taking in some autumn sun before being watered and returned to the growroom.

picture.php

That's all for the moment, I've spent too long catching up with what's been going on...I'll do another update a little later with some lovely pics of the Hawaiian Webbed Indica and the debut of a couple of beautiful special ladies!!

Hawaiian Webbed Indica Outdoors UK 2009

Hawaiian Webbed Indica Outdoors UK 2009

If they don't fully finish, you can either smoke them and enjoy the immature high or turn them into bubblehash, either way it sounds like a plan to me mate!

Here's something that I've had a fair few PM's about...the Hawaiian Webbed Indica!

I grew quite a few of these this season. I gave a few seedlings to some friends who enjoyed them immensely, planted 6 in the ground in the garden and kept 4 in great big patio pots (must be 40l at least)

The ones in the ground grew the biggest as you'd expect, they're the big green ones in the background in this pic:

picture.php

The ground-grown Hawaiian Webbed Indica' were ready for harvest from the 10th October but they were so big and I had so many to harvest that the last of them didn't get chopped down until maybe the 28th of October or thereabouts!

As they matured, they started to express some lovely autumn colours:

picture.php

The pot-grown Hawaiian Webbed Indica' matured a little later than their grown-grown sisters but the colours were even more striking!

I'd like to mention that the colouring cannot be due to the cold weather. I say this because one of the ground-grown HWI's stayed dark green right up until harvest and the pot-grown ones were brought into the warm conservatory every night. So the colours you see are the results of their maturity and genetics, not the cold.

Festive greetings

Festive greetings

Hey everyone :joint:

Some really nice posts, with lots of great info...minime i'll have to spk to you before next season!!

I really liked my Leb x Kush this season...a couple of peeps got some samples and the reports were very positive. I certainly couldn't do any better yield wise with 14oz off the one plant... I have a TON of trim still to process. Its all in the freezer while i decide what to do with it all. I'm thinking of having a bubble bag day soon i think!! I also like the look of that oil Soul :smoker: Did you use a tube to run the fluid through??

Soul- My Bubble-Sacs have lasted me years...well worth looking into. I got mine when they first came out in 04 i think and are still going strong!

I hope everyone has a great xmas :santa1: I've got a nice stash of Kali Mist and some Black Widow x GWS to chuff my way through the festive period...will also be making hash from the trim of these plants...thats gonna be good :D

Peace!!! :stocking:

The availability of Guerilla Gold is not good but that pales in comparison to the extreme variation you'll see if you ever get your hands on some!

Commercially speaking, I'm not convinced there's much out there you can rely on aside from Autos...you tend to find seedbanks sell long flowering hazes and indoor only strains instead of outdoor suitable.

Early sativas are your best bet in my opinion, I've seen Lebanese commercially available from time to time but you must understand that the kind of plants that finish reliably outdoors here do not produce a product close to the quality of indoor only strains.

The Leb x Kush I sent to TPS is one of my favourite outdoor strains and the finished product is excellent but it's still far removed from good "skunk" that you might find in Holland for example.

That's one of the reasons my season consists of 80% autoflowering strains and only 20% standard strains. Autos enable me to get indoor quality bud like AK47, Blueberry, Haze etc from an outdoor grow.

Ya feel me?

cork144, strains i plan on growing this year

purple wreck (urkle x trainwreck)
easy sativa female seeds
mighty durban (if jaysprout releases in time?)
nepalese jam
gg x congo (if breederbrad releases more?)
leb x cheese...

most peeps prefer my organic outdoor, maybe because most indoor is poorly grown around here? i definately plan to add a higher percentage of auto's to the mix next year.

zeds AAWW---is as good as a lot of indoor weed better than what a lot of people are paying for in the uk----if grown indoor its top shelf even stronger---ive lost count of how many times iv been to holland sometimes twice a week----there is some amazing weed there- true--but i honestly think some uk growers are doing just as good now---the days of dutch inport being the best has gone and is over----not all uk growers lol----i would love for someone with breeding experience to work with this one pheno of the aaww----this is second year iv grown her-----its not the be all and end all but its good enough-----i have had a hand full of plants that realy did work---but i totaly agree that most so called outdoor strains the majority are shit---but theres allways that one pheno that gos against the rest----finding the rite pheno i think has a lot to do with sucseess---have a nice xmas every one

a friend grew pot of gold---4 year ago but was very dissapointed---hes not a novice and pulls some top grows of he has a tent for his regular stuff but has a 5by5 foot tent for trying diffrent strains---he ordered some seeds from a vendor and instead of geting what he ordered-- he got pot of gold---he has a coulfull way of speaking he was not to pleased=====but he grew them out they wear the same in structure smell and everything as the first grow accept the end product was the real deal----some years hollands hoop has done well some year there crap--iv grown hollands hoop for the past 5 years no more---apart from the finishing times getting longer the product is getting weaker---so how and wear you get the seeds from is as inportant as what strain you choose-----would i be right in saying that---one pack of seed produces quality one crap the same strain the same vendour just 2 diffrent end product grown by the same person the same way-----

i would look into breederbrads mightymite, if you want an alternative to hollands hope... from what i gathered (not from personal experience though) it makes excellent crosses, nothing spectacular on its own but some decent phenos pop up.

harold--not realy looking for an alturnitive to HH---IT done its job --i had some good results--what im trying to do now--is find the one pheno or 2 that finishes by 14th oct or befor---grown flowered smoket---if its strong ill keep it if not it gets the chop---i cloned the ww---nl---hh--akww---the akww was the only one i kept--i think wam tryed some nl and said its not bad---but not good enough to keep over winter for next year--indoor growers find the mother or keeper--i find the people who grow from seed only have a lot of up and down wear the ones who have found that potent mother have had no complaints about quality going up and down---id like 4 to 6 diffrent strains---sensi star is one of my favourites as is purple wreck---iv had some realy good sensi star but never cloned them---wish i had---but every diffrent plant i put out ill clone keep it untill i know its potency then keep it or kill it---as for breeding id rather let some one who knows what there doing---my idea of breeding is put a male and female bang---but i think there is some genius in true breeding quality---thats what id like to happen to the akww---i showed a friend a bud to day trimed it up nice ---you can not tell if its been grown outside or in----i cant say enough good things about this plant---jan----

theres not many reports on the cole train, if any... i love greasy plants, cant wait to give her a spin, they will only be vegged indoors, i have no flower room :(

didn't do the cole train, neither did bucks8n.

the PW hash was amazing, to say the least. i did 2 runs, the first with a wooden spoon, 10 mins stirring... tiny yield of white gold... next run was a good 45 min with a hand blender and it was still phenomenal! third run was saved for a combined run with all the others... the 'garden blend' :D!

i am sitting here in africa with a constant supply of basically free ganja (8 quid an oz) and am still dreaming about my jars curing under my bed!! it's not a reflection on the quality of the stuff here, but it wasn't raised by my own hands!!! can't wait for my father in law to arrive tomorrow, though. he's bringing some stuff that was grown by the mountain rasta's near his little beach house.

hope you guys are making the most of the snow (...men ...ball fights ...sex?? ;) )
