There are a few, check out Spastic Gramps Attic buildout, and Lone Wolfs attic. Sealed rooms are pretty advanced stuff for guys on a budget but I'm doing writeups. Lemme think, uh, oh one was "Lazyman's idea of a perfect grow room." Also see my sig for a CO2 thread (which kinda evolved into a sealed room thread) but holler if you need to know more.

I believe C.E.A. Systems may be what your looking for. Controlled Environment Agriculture. It is the system of growing in a completely sealed environment where in the grower provides all the necessary variables. Light, water, air, co2 and a supplemented cooling source. These types of rooms require a separate room for cooling your equipment. I.E. Water Chiller, Ventilation for air conditioner and other equipment. If anything google is your friend, Search Controlled Environment Agriculture. Im sure there is alot of info out there. Good Luck

Think green I think you hit it right on the money! Thats exactly what i'm looking for.... The art of sealing the room but exchanging the air every now and then. Anybody running one of thee rooms?

I've done several, oh I remembered Security First and Grow Nerd do them too.

In a sealed room I don't feel any air exchange is necessary. Many don't and have great results. As long as you provide all the CO2 and you keep it at 85* daytime, you'll reap the rewards.

It takes a lot of equipment to run a CGE (Closed Growing Environment or sealed room) because you become Mother Nature 100%. The temps and humidity, light and water all only change on YOUR say so, the outside environment makes no difference.

Big AC's, dehumidifiers, and one 16" oscillating fan per light is a good start. The room should be as airtight as possible, so no CO2 or heat leaks out. Run charcoal filters as a scrubber on 24X7.

If you need a grow controller the only one I'd want for a sealed room would be a Sentinel CHHC-1, huge bang for the buck. Nothing else is as advanced or as capable for the money. How many lights are you looking to run?

I plan on running 5000 watts over 48 multi flow buckets. when i was building the room I did'nt mean for it to be sealed but I did such a good jod framing it and rocking it, it turned out that way... plus I read this brief little artical someone posted on sealed rooms. The sound of it struck my little light bulb! I prety much got everything set up except the intake, I'm not sure if i need one? maybe some kind of back draft damper?

I'm also in the procces of looking for a good ac and dehumid or a good combo of both all in one. I'm reaserching as we speak, seems like dehumid's give off some sort of heat as well?

Oh and did i mention I almost lost my dam index finger building this darn thing! few weeks ago when i was finishing up I went to rip a piece of 2 by that had about a 1/4" of a broke off piece of screw wedged in it, on top of the broke screw i was using a dull ass blade! put 2 and 2 together.... major kick back that forced my had into the blade, and "chop sewee" completly off! I found it on the floor next to my sunlight supply hood... I picked it up (which by the way was still warm!) put it on ice and drove myself to the er. Now I can honstly add the "blood" (or more like limb) to blood sweat and tears to to the saying things I go through for this hobby of mines...

Man you really cut your damn finger off?Thats dedication lol.Like Lazyman said,it would take some serious equipment to use co2 in a room where the air is to be exchanged also.I dont understand why someone would want to do such a thing either. My goal is to keep the room at 85 F and 1500 PPM co2 with very little variation in co2 PPM's for 12 hours straight. When I do this I get some killer results

AC's don't run as often as dehueys, so you will certainly need both to keep RH in check. No intake or exhaust are needed unless you're doing air cooled hoods. I would look at the Hydrogen pro water cooled CO2 generator, run it on tap water to waste, never use a pump with them. They put out more co2 and less heat than regular gennies and are usually cheaper too.

Whatis and others. If you search by Titles Only rather than Entire Posts, you'll cut the hits significantly and get closer to your goal.

Example: Mufflers by Posts reveals thousands of threads and posts that have nothing to do with mufflers, it's just a word that showed up somewhere. Search by Titles, you'll get a handful of hits that are about mufflers only and nothing else.

I'm going to run my system dry and see where 5000 watts takes me in temps and rh. I am running aircooled lights so right now I'm tryna seal the hoods as much as I can. I was thinking of using that silver insulation wrape and cut a piece to shap the hood, kinda like that hood blanket thing they got out now. So as to air seal the hoods.

My grow room is designed to run CGE. During the winter months I'm going to run off of outside air because it's free. Check it out this summer to see what sealed is all about.

Sealed is the only way I'll grow, and I almost always recommend the same to anyone else that's serious about this stuff at this level.

In my opinion, by the time you've installed / purchased HEPA filters and large exhaust fans, you'll have spent just as much (sometimes more) than in a sealed setup. Although I will admit that most sealed configurations will cost more up front, the total cost of operation is the interesting part.

With a properly designed room (correctly sized A/C that won't short cycle is an important concept) is a headache-free and day-to-day maintenance can be a snap.

I'm sure there are lots of articles and threads describing the basics, and yet plenty more on construction & operation of 'em. But if there's anything in specific you'd like to know, I can probably help you... I've designed, built, and run a countless number of sealed rooms.

Hey grow nerd, do you aircool your lights? if you do how do you completly seal the hood? cuzz mines has all kinds of cracks & cravises

I'm going to hook up the air-cool hoods my first thought was to have them lined up and go from 1 to another and hook into my main 6". Now I'm thinking I should just give them there own line with a 4" fan directly to my main 6" line?
