150w HPS Club and Resource Guide......

Well, even a 150w will put out some GREAT buds on a track like that. I would think 250 would be more ideal but hey, 1g per watt should be easily doable with a light mover.

I would be damn anxious to see the results using the same setup but with a 250 or 400 though, light movers always scared me though, just one more potential fire hazard. but they sure are freakin sweet!!

Yeah 4x4 is a waste for that light. If you had a smaller enclosed space you will maximize more potential light that can be reflected off of the walls and back onto the other sides of the plants. Just something to think about.

BTW off topic but i'm not used to this forum, how do you create thumbnails in posts instead of links. Do you use that little postcard button that says insert image?

Catman, how do you have you computer fan rigged up to blow from underneath? I am going vertical next time around, but I also happen to be a DIY retard, and all I can conceive at the moment is tipping over my oscillating fan, which takes up way to much space.

I used elbows as seen in this picture. I just put a screw and bolt through three holes on the PC fan so it only has three legs, but it stands fine. The space directly below the bulb is good for nothing unless you put a medium under there and angle the plants out or best I think, add a CFL bulb in there for your lower bud sites.

Here's how my 2x2 space is coming along after the tie-down and the addition of (2) 42w 2700K, and (2) 30w 3000k CFL's from my Veg box. I'm suffering from nute lockout and N toxicity and have been flushing for a few days. These pics are from 2 days ago. Hopefully that clears up soon because they seem to have stunted slightly during the last week, and won't be finishing on time from the looks of it.

This was Day 17 Flower, ~45 Overall (Nirvana Chrstal and some stretchy purplish Haze's)

Here's a nugget of the Haze that my friend grew outdoors. Let's see how she turns out indoors.

DankDinner008ResizedGrowery.jpg

My old box, now re-used as my Veg box. It currently has 4 more Chrystal seedlings, and 3 of Dr. Chron's Troublemaker (Hindu x Master Kush) Never grown those before so we'll see how they turn out too. I just need to get over this damn PH/Lockout problem...
Grrrr...I never fuck up my grows...

Dec15004.jpg

And the Updated Flower box with the Sun System 150 and 144w CFL's for supplemental side lighting. A few aren't bad for 17 days but one hasn't even made the flowering switch yet?

Dec15005.jpg

Here's the typical "clawing" that occurs when overloaded with Ammonium N. combined with too low of a PH... I should have just trusted my gut and done what has always worked over the years. Go figure, the one time I test my PH and adjust it accordingly for a week it in turn bends me over and rams it home. Ah well one more lesson to add to the list.

Dec15008.jpg

And lastly a budshot of my Sat leaning Chrystal, who jumped ahead of the pack by leaps and bounds.

Any Comments are so greatly appreciated, negative or not I do not care. I love talking, i'm a god damned stoner!

My main goal out if this is to achieve 4 Oz's/112 Grams. Do you think that's possible? The shortest is about 12" and the tallest/tied down were 26" when tied (never growing Haze indoors again!) and I vegged for just under a month. I mean I should be able to squeeze 20 grams from each don't you think? The Chrystal yields well, I know because it's been grown before by my good friend but I've never flowered plants this small before and don't know what they are capable of producing. I need someone else to chime in on this, because I just read KolorBlind's thread and he averaged a 1/2 Oz per AF plant, and I even vegged for 24-27 days... I have to think I will at least beat that...

I just wanted to say I am working on my first 150 grow. :watchplant:

After spending several months lurking, I finally signed up in Sept.

This thread is one of the most responsive and positive areas I've come across, so far.

Keep it up guys and gals!

BTW my girl has just entered 21 days of 12/12 and is looking good.

Took 14 days to show sex but that's how soil goes.

Keeping a journal and working on pix,

Thanks for your time and major props on all the info contained here!

Inverted - Everything looks pretty good to me man, with just a couple small exceptions. I dont know if you raised it for the pic, but if not that 150 could come down quite a bit. My bare 150 sat no more than 5" above my DR all through flowering. It was only when I put it 2" from the canopy that it started to burn.

Also, what is your temp like in that cab? Seems like a lot of light, but Im sure if you made it this far it must be adequate, because they look nice & green. High temps were the only other thing I can think of that might slow the grow down for ya a bit.

That side lighting looks great though, corners are a plants worst enemy lol.

Great lookin setup, keep up the good work!

Uh Oh!

BALLS.

I had some seeds I tossed into a bucket in my backyard prior to deciding to grow. I was SOOOOO excited to see the plants take off and I would up transplanting one into the earth...boy was I bummed when it turned out to be male.

But I was motivated enough to follow-up and get fresher, better herb without funding the black market!

w00t.

Happy Holidays!

I plan on giving this little girl the chop this weekend...fist grow so I wasnt sure when was the right time but I think it has come. My problem is I have not flushed it. She was grown in reg. potting soil, with very little nutes for the first 3 or 3 weeks of flower then the last week to week and a half now only molasses water. Do I still need to flush with pure water now? If so.....can I let her keep going for another 2 weeks? Or give her the chop?

Thanks man, I figured that would be the best place to up the light. It might be the angle of the pictures but the plants are within 5-6 inches of the bulb. I suppose I could lower it an inch or two but I just figured they are doing fine like this and aren't stretching anymore.

The temp doesn't get about 72 or 73 in there, as I have the big ass fan on top and there is an entire basement to cool it down. It's pretty much room temp in there :)

They all have made improvements since the flushing has begun and are really taking off now. The slowest plant is starting to flower finally and with the varying finishing times of the diffrent strains/phenos, I think I will be taking down all of them within 1-2 weeks, which is nice. Think I can break 100g's with this grow? They are all decent yielders, even the haze grows nice big nugs, just kinda fluffy. The Chrystal created rock hard buds outdoors so we'll see what I get with the roll of the dice.

Keep it comin' guys! I love this thread .:smokeit:

I think we will find that molasses is going to do very little if anything for the plant at this stage. For sure it will not effect the taste at all in a positive way. The beauty of molasses is it's ability to serve as a chelating agent and allows the plant to uptake nutrients more efficiently, as well as being food for the bioorganisms in the medium and providing carbohydrates. But all of those things come into play during the growth and flower periods. Now that it is ripening period, save your molasses and use straight water.

I would love to upgrade to a 250 or maybe a 400 but not paying HFB-high fuck bills.lol pockets are tight here in the boondocks. So for now I'm trying to dial in the right penetration. Work on my Nute mixing style, Make clones from the same plant and work on how to make buds bigger each cycle. i try to keep tops as close as possible check it. the track is in a size room of four and half feet by two feet im going to close it in a lil more next time . im going to try an area size of four and a half feet by one and half that is a good size room for maybe five ladies. i think...

PS: the track has a speed of a snail . it takes about 13minutes to get from one side to the other .every time i go check on them i stay watching for a long ass time like in a trance i love my 150w hps . merry Christmas everybody , woohoo :xmastree:

word up cuzzin,

molasses is a great boost to make buds bigger and sweeter juicer yummy. imo its always good to water only flush them once every week throughout veg and in flower stage. it will clear salt build up and help the plants roots ingest nutrients better making the plant better. think about it, it gets gooey in the soil Nutes have bat guano seabird guano and bone , Castings from worms and all the other good sht for them. so flushing once week clears the soil out .

Next time you grow imo , if you harvest after 10 to 12 weeks of flowering stage this does not include veging time only flowering time .

*give regular nute feeding week 1.2.3.4.

*at week 5.6.7. cut your nutes in half and add molasses " now imo i add a liltle more molasses with the nute mix because at that stage the plant needs a boost of pasasium to jump kick the bud development ,flushing once a week
* at week 8.9 cut down more of your nutes . molasses at just lil less amount from at first, flushing once a week
* at week 10.11.12 cut out the nutes and flush with molasses water only
before you chop put them in darkness "No lights" for three or four days to make the plant develop more trycomes on the buds itself i think that the word "crystals" that where THC is at son.
also keep temps at 78/83 max ,speeds up metabolism for bigger duds throughout cycle..

hope this helps you or anyone searching for answers , knowledge is key to make weed free. spread it like wildfire.

Hey everybody, I'm about 2 weeks in to my first grow with a 150w HPS, I can only hope to get the results that some of you guys are getting! Just thought I would pop in, say thanks to all the 150W growers who's threads I've been lurking in for so long. Feel free to check out my thread, link in sig, having some problems right now with my plant =[

sito007, I have to respectfully take exception to your advise...
See, thing is...molasses is not a taste enhancer at all. I know we hear that it makes buds sweeter, but I have yet to see evidence of that. In fact, using it on the very last watering can actually cause the buds to be harsh.

And nutes will really make buds harsh...so nutes should be completely shut off at least 2-3 weeks before harvest, no matter how many weeks the strain goes in flower.
And the fan leaves should all be turning a yellowish color, falling off, and pretty much looking sick.
These plants we see that are just about to be chopped, and have pretty green leaves and a real nice photogenic quality to them, are probably going to taste nasty. Albeit a pretty picture.
And again, molasses benefits the plant during the nutrient stage, as it is a nutrient in itself. But 2-3 weeks before harvest, save your nutrients, including molasses.
