Always use USPS, it is much harder for them to have the right to open your package. The private couriers can do whatever they want once they have possession of it.

I think if you are mailing weed a foodsaver or other true vacuum sealer is a must! It will really cut down on smell. An idea I have been kicking around is a double vacuum seal with activated carbon. Put the weed in one bag and seal. Put that bag in a lager one and add a good amount of activated carbon then vacuum seal it. Its probably overkill but I think activated carbon could be used with quite a few other shipping methods to keep down on smell.

now here's a weird deal...a good friend of mine recently mailed 8z's packed in 2 3z bags and 1 2z bag to his brother in the midwest using UPS...only the 2z bag arrived and the box was obviously retaped and done rather sloppy like it was done on the run (judging by the pics the brother sent). i've told this guy over and over again do not use UPS but he did anyways because it was easier. this was a month ago and both he and his bro are still sweating!

I think they were ripped off by a stoner at a UPS sort facility, the cops would not forward on part of the weed unless they were sending a leo to deliver it

im 100% against this kind of activity. im also in a medical state, so for you that are not, this can be lucrative. my days of this are finished. but saying that, i got some tricks up the sleeve. definitely a fan of hash over buds, way better idea. second amazon boxes and printed labels, also a must. the kicker is that the man sells personal ionizers, for runners who have allergies, get one of them, throw new batteries in, and bammo, no smell from cali to boston. freezer bags dont work half as well as i would want.

they need a warrant to open ANY fedex overnight package.. my boy get 5lbs a week vac sealed... never use UPS theres this dude around town and he def is working with the feds as an informant... he roles around in the ups truck ALL DAY LURKING FOR INFO hahahah so go fedex.

This is true, private carriers can(and will) do what ever they want.

Worked for USPS for 10+, its simple if they want you they will get you. The postal inspection service has maintained a 98% conviction rate for at least the decade I was there.

If they decide for whatever reason they want you they will make sure you get your package as many times as it takes to gather enough information to convict. They rely on greed to let people basically convict themselves. They do not hide this as they feel its almost infallable, so far they've been right.

Oh yeah, you pretty much aint mailin shit without somebody knowing something.

Here is a nice quote from fedex regarding this exact situation:

FedEx spokesman Jim McCluskey says FedEx has a "very involved and extensive training program" for its employees to spot suspicious packages, but repeatedly declined to go into detail about what FedEx looks for, or how many packages get opened.
"We have the right to open any package that we deem to be suspicious," McCluskey says. "We don't tolerate the illegal use of our system."

Its the same deal with UPS. Once you give them your package its within their rights to open it if they think it suspicious. USPS on the other hand will have to get a warrant which is a small amount of extra protection.

Tuggo, I have had the unfortunate experience of being on the receiving end of a postal inspectors wrath...he was a real prick. Thankfully it looks like im going to be in that 2% thanks mostly to dumb luck and some mistakes by the local PD. I was a trip watching the postal inspector absolutely shit on the local leo's.

Ledgro thats cool as hell. Just to be clear. USPS needs no warrant to open a package. Even if they did they would open it anyway, tape it up and slap a damaged in handling sticker on it.

I remember having a heavy box with animal food in it being delivered from USPS, it was like 7-10 pounds, and it had a giant slash/rip down the middle going sideways. It may of hit an edge, but it just looked weird and took a lot longer to get to us. It had that slip that was photocopied, so shitty looking and dicey. It pretty much said that yeah it was damaged in route, and sorry.

I know of a MoM caregiver out in the valley. Care packages come double foodsaver vacuum sealed, and wrapped/taped shut like a present with brown paper bags.
USPS priority only. Haven't had any issues with them yet for a year plus.
A single sealed bag isn't enough to kill all odors, but the double method is damn near flawless imo, but I'm no mail sniffing k-9.

Also get the medibles that way too.

What about ordering growing supplies? Does the postal inspection service watch who orders hydro equipment and pass information to LEO?

Did you really work for USPS? If so, as what?

It seems far fetched that you would be aware of their average conviction rate for an entire decade, more than far fetched even. 98% for a decade? Sounds like people need to lawyer up - since when does guilt guarantee a conviction?

Can USPS search our mail? I can't say for sure, but I believe this answer more than yours.

It really depends on the Class of Mail being used. First Class Mail including Priority Mail and Express mail are sealed against Postal Inspection. Warrants are near impossible to get. The Postal Inspectors usually monitor delivery and give the person time to open it on their own before making entry on the suspect.

Other classes are NOT sealed against Postal inspection and may be opened to check that the contents are eligible for the rate being paid. Much like the case of Media Mail.

Your use of the class of mail is your consent to the possible inspection.

If you do not want any of your mail inspected, only ever use First Class Mail. However, you have no control of what is sent to you.

I work in Business Mail Entry, Bulk Mail. Not only am I permitted to open envelopes and read through the contents, my job description requires me to. Well, except for Presorted First Class Mail. Like I said, nobody can open First Class MAil, period.
