Chicken manure makes a good general purpose organic fertilizer, and cheap too! Add in some Dolomite, some Kelp meal, and you have something.

I'm not sure what kind of plants you are growing, and how favorable you climate is, but assuming things are average, try this mix:

For one 2-6oz plant:

6-8 cups Chicken manure
1-2 cups Dolomite lime
1 cup Kelp meal

If you can get some fast acting Rock Phosphate of some kind, add in 2 cups of that too.

Here is the potting mix I used for the Earth hole this year:

3.8cuft Peatmoss(would rather use Coco, can't afford the quantity needed)
5.7 cups Dolomite lime(approximately 3tbs per gallon of peat)
4 cups 0-2-0 Soft rock Phosphate
4 cups Kelp meal
4 cups 12-8-4 Seabird Guano
28 cups 3-2-2 Chicken manure
28 cups Down to Earth compost(a mix of several manures, Guanos, Worm castings, and other organics)

This plant grew in 10 gallons of this mix, yielded 6 oz a month after this pic-

This mix that I used(which I'll be using more of for 2010) are just adaptions of the soil mixes found in this thread- Organics for Beginners

This thread has many classic, basic recipes for organic potting soil, compiled form the wisdom of many past and present members.
