What'd you do in the face of paranoia?

I'm sure we have all faced the 'noia somewhere or another. Maybe even right now. I figured it'd be good to have a thread where you can go to share what you were faced with and how you got through it.

My buddy recently heard a helicopter over his house at 3am in the 4th week flowering of a 4k grow with 60 plants. He turned all his lamps off for the following 3 weeks, except for a small CFL.

We thought he got powdery mildew, but then upon tripping it seemed like pure frosty dankness. stuff smelled great, too

I was surprised his patch even made it 4 weeks off of one CFL.

Helicopters go over my house every day in the summertime. I do not make any fast moves, nor do I wave, duck, or anything else out of the ordinary. I have had them circle my yard, possibly counting to 24...hell I don't know...I just ignore them.

Man, the fourth week of flowerings is a major weight area to turn off lights for three weeks or until it's done....dude, helicopters are not going to look for indoor grows....they don't fly around with FLIR's looking at houses and a lot of houses do leak heat...but not every house melts snow off of their roof!

There is something called 'overly paranoid' so I know what it is like to throw out plants or just really take the excitement down...but it remains as long as anything illegal is going on.

I can handle it normally, but if i freak out while tripping it's a whole different story. My wife has already talked me down from chopping EVERYTHING during a trip. :xmasnut: No easy task i can assure you..
Paranoia sucks, but i honestly believe i have taken the necessary security steps to prevent myself from getting busted.

Careful people, OP is probably a LEO fishing for information!!

i dunno if this is supposed to be serious or a symptom of the 'noia. How could a LEO possibly benefit from noid stories about how people tear their shit down and clean house when nothing ends up happening, I can't imagine.

I think its funny, though, that many of us try to smoke our paranoia away but the herb increases paranoia and anxiety in many.

My buddy from the OP was growing as legally as he can be with doc recs, patient scripts, lawyer on retainer, sb 420 expemption for many plants...

...and still he was tripping out. That's one edge the feds got, folks, the 'noia

and damn you pythaglio for making me break my 420th post

You have to remember that if you worry and stress about everything and have negative expectations and always expect the worst then most likely that's what you may very well get. Read the book or watch the movie "The Secret". The secret is positive thinking and it does affect your reality.

Also, You have to give into the flow of the universe and accept everything as it happens realizing that you are on a journey that many others share. You are not alone, we are all here together. Whatever happens, happens. You will be okay either way just cross your t's and dot your i's and pray for the best. Put out good karma and treat the world kindly. Listen to good music and spend time with your plants enjoying their beauty not seeing them as a dollar sign.

Everything has a way of just working itself out usually given positive thinking, good intentions, and a kind heart. Also, without risk their is usually not much reward.

I trade preparedness for paranoia every day, and I sleep like a baby.

Prepare for the unexpected, have a game plan for ANYTHING!

What do you do if a neighbor kid accidentally throws a baseball through your grow room window? (plywood over the inside)

What do you do if you have to move? (pack everything into boxes, rent Uhaul, move stuff to storage unit)

What happens when cops come knock on your door? (my grow doesn't smell or leak any light, so they're probably not here for me.)

What do you do if you have a flood? (kill water supply, use water broom to push it out, make repairs, and crank up dehueys and fans)

What about a fire? (kill power to room, hit it with a halon fire extinguisher, exhaust out the smoke and then break down. Run ozone genny to kill smoke smell. )

See? If you plan for the unexpected, you can mostly remove those fears that cause your paranoia. Be careful out there folks!

planning for the unexpected is kind of an oxymoron, isn't it?

my lady has also talked me down from chopping down a few plants; paranoia over growing a plant, hilarious stuff... I have chopped downed before too, and not ashamed, but learned a lot from that and know how to keep it cool a lot better nowdays.

Well, there are known unknowns, and unknown unknowns. I try to think up the craziest shit that oculd happen and see if I can plan for it, or even mitigate the risk.

But no, I can't do much if a drunk barrel rolls his car through my grow at 3 AM, or a plane crashes into it from the sky. Might as well eat up a couple brownies and wait for your metal bracelets.

Or the cops come knocking on your door saying they just got an anonymous 911 call about a domestic dispute at your address and MUST come in and make sure everyone is okay lol. Always fun.

And here is my medical rec. officer, please DO come in! :joint:

Yes my friend, 'twas just a joke. Paranoia is an irrational fear. If you're growing in a non-med state or without a card, fear is perfectly justified and doesn't qualify as paranoia.

Yeah scanners demand you tune in, so do CCTV security systems, most guys I know that have them have a hard time peeling themselves away. Seems to make them MORE paranoid.

I have a scanner in my car, nice to hear where cops are hiding, or when they pull you for speeding you get that wonderful "license checks out, no warrants, priors or FTA's"

WHEW!

Tell myself that I'm a good man, that dissonance is part of being a good man, and that if it's "my time," then it's "my time."

As someone who had a poor perspective when he was younger, I can tell you that, in The United States Prison's at least, the fear is generally worse than the time. And the fear is generally brought about by guilt whether we admit it or not.

You grew pot. You've got nothing to feel guilty about. Fuck them. Keep your head up and keep living your life to its' fullest. Otherwise, they win even if they don't catch you.
