A little bit about the room first..

The room is a 150cubicft (3.2ft wide x 6ft long x 8ft high) walk in closet with the following equipment:

Xtrsasun 400watt HID ballast
6-inch cool tube
400 CFM in-fan
Can filter (don't know the size, but its huge).
FF Ocean Forest Soil w/FF Grow Big, Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom as nutes.

Veg: MH, Flower: HPS

Temps stay in the low to mid 70's.

Now on the the beans.

5 GHS White Widow and 6 Kushberry...both fem. Currently germinating in a glass of water on top of a heating mat. I am going to start all 10 in 16oz cups, and keep the best 3 out of each batch, so 3 WW and 3 KB...a total of 6 plants under the HID in 3 gallon pots.

I have grown the GHS WW before and was amazed by high and vigor of the plant. I will update once they sprout! I'll be back in about 5 - 7 days...

:santa1:

It's been 12 hours and I have placed them between paper moist towels inside an empty dvd case. They are sitting on top of the heating mat on low. 1 bean has cracked already, awaiting 10 more to follow!

and Minnesota Nice, I think you meant to post in nnep's thread not mine :D

Will update tomorrow around this time!

5/6 Kushberrys had a nice tap root going.
3/5 WW had nice taproots as well. Those have been placed in 16oz cups w/FFOF under a heating mat. Got 3 more seeds to go

5/5 WW's germinated
5/6 Kushberry's germinated

most of them within 48 hours...not bad! The heating mat does wonders.

The heating mat is now set to the "seedling" setting.

Now it's just a matter of waiting... :santa1:

yah, only a couple tho, i was pretty lazy at the time so i didnt really document that grow well.

i popped two non-fems. had two distinct pheno's... both spectacular and females, yield was decent with no nutes added to the soil. if i remember correctly i flowered them for about nine weeks. unfortunately no flower pics.

here are the photos i do have...

Change of plans:

I am going to re-pot them from the 16oz cups to 1/2 gallon square pots in a couple of weeks. The reason is because I am going to choose the best 3 of each strain, then transplant to 3-gallon square pots. I am going to let them veg for about 4 - 5 weeks, excluding the 1.5 - 2 week seedling stage. I want these babies to grow since I have more than enough space. I was also lucky enough to find long, square pot holders for drainage, meaning that I can fit all the pots perfectly. I have looking for over a year for these, and I finally got them. It sucked having square pots and round drainage thingies.

I set the digital timer for 18/6 from 3AM to 9PM. The 400MH is roughly about 20 inches from the tops, and will lower it to about 15, then to about 10 inches gradually. Temps are at 72 day 67 night.

All of them sprouted, but it looks like 1 White Widow and 1 Kushberry might not make it. That's OK...it's all about survival of the fittest...this will make choosing the best 3 of each easier. Temps are at 72 day, 68 night. Can't wait until I'm about 14 days in.

Other than the FF trio, are you adding anything else as far as nutes go? Molasses?

What is your feeding schedule going to look like?

I also have Cal-Mag which I only use if I start seeing a deficiency. I have tried molasses, but only towards the end of flowering...I did 1TSP per gallon or something like that (I don't remember the dosage).

As for the feeding schedule, I follow the FF chart, but I start at 1/4 strength. This time around, I am going to use the least amount of nutrients that I can...as I have noticed that the less you mess with the plant, the better it grows.

My seedlings are 5 days old.

White Widow in the back, Kushberry in the front. They are growing well so far. The 400 watt is about 13 inches from the tops, temps at 73 degrees.

I like to keep them as short as I can

Day 7

Day 7

Day 7 from sprout
Temps: 72.3 Day, 68 Night
Watering: Tap

They are growing very well and their first "true" leaves are shooting out. I put in a small oscillating fan set on the lowest setting so that the stems harden up a bit. This will also allow better air circulation with the 400 cfm that I have running through the cool tube.

I am keeping an eye out for this White Widow seedling:

It's starting to look like a more indica pheno outa the rest of the WW's...still too early but I can already see some fat leaves coming out.

Here is a group shot:

They all look very happy. I planted them in the cups with soil 1/2 full that way I could back fill them with soil once the initial seedling stretch happened. Works like a charm...they are now at a reasonable height for seedlings. I am going to transplant them to .5 gallon pots next Sunday at day 14. I will leave them in those pots for two weeks, then I will decide which ones I want to keep, then to their final home of 3 gallon square pots.

I am going to start using distilled water next watering, and will start 1/8 strength Grow Big and 1/2 strength Big Bloom FF nutes at day 21 or so. I like to ease the nutrients on them.

Good luck with your grow. I was hoping to grow out some GH WW as well. I tried to start a Widow seed that came in one of those multi-colored packs but it turned out to be a dud :wallbash: Got their El Nino going right now.
