Have read the whole thread a while ago, but now I have possibility to do this. If I have 2 clones from same mother and I spray the other and pollinate the other, will it work or are the beans hermies because they share the same dna?

Mooseknuckle, it might be best to do two plants this method, just in case. I'm not sure on your second one.

Vinski, it'll work just fine.

thanks for your reply growers unite, ive changed my plans now,im hoping to get some of the new sour 60,when they release,so im going to use these, instead to make some fem seeds of these and cross them with a few other autos,

I was thinking along the same lines moose. Feminizing a batch of sour 60 so you can germinate without worry of having to sex. Feminized sour 60 beans would be perfect for guerrilla growers.

Would this spray really work?

Would this spray really work?

30 ppm is enough, right?

Just spritz onto your buds and you will be in seed city? That's seems too easy.

mine came out at 32, and been spraying 2 small clones for 2 weeks today, they look strange at the tops , claw like small leaves coming out at tops now , i am expecting this is the change to male in progress, and hope to see pollen sacs within the week or 10 days from now

Yeah, from what i have read, and what i am seeing so far the last couple days on my 2 plants, 30 should work, if 32 does, no doubt 30 will. I am going to run mine a little longer next time , to try to get it to 50 ppm, just to see how much longer it takes, im thinking somewhere around a 24 hr brew time with a 7 volt adapter in 1 liter of distilled water will give 50ppm , the more water , the longer it takes to bring ppm up i expect,

i made my own and its working good here they are right now.i waited till water got yellow that means its realy strong dose.yellow water is caused by the silver parts geting bigger in the water ..clear water isnt as strong.thanks to this thread.i sprayed for two weeks before 12/12 and still spaying now and then.she is 100% fem and from fem seed
sorry for the bad picture

i recently sprayed my lapis & got alot of pollen made 1 cross & got only 2 seeds tried to use the same pollen again a month later & nothing happened this has happened to me a few times now all with different strains normally my regular male pollen last for 3-4 months
anyone else notice that their (fem) pollen doesnt last as long as their regular pollen?

icon, you certainly don't get as much pollen from a plant sprayed with CS and often you have to manually apply the pollen to the target female, but my guess is that your CS solution is too weak. The pollen is only viable for around a month or so anyway though.

dominicangreen, looking good!

Do you guys think this is the method seed houses use to charge huge fem seed prices?

Trade-secrets are always fun to learn and are usually very simple, almost laughable

Just a note - try to strain off the heavy sediment if it occurs. The thing is, if you test your ppm after it's been sitting for awhile and all the heavy stuff is sitting at the bottom, it's the SAME as when you shake it all up and test the ppm. If you spray with the heavy sediment, you WILL get pretty bad discoloration. So, once you've brewed your cs, I recommend either slowly pouring off the top into another bottle leaving the sediment in the original, or straining through a coffee filter. Hope everyone has good luck with this and learns from my mistake! (I thought it would be a good idea to have as much silver stuff in there as possible, not the case.)

Well back in 2007 when i first posted this thread there were only a few seed banks releasing any feminised seeds - mainly just Dutch Passion, FemaleSeeds, and the occassional line from Gypsy such as feminised C99.

I put this down to the fact that back then not many people knew you could make feminised seeds using something as simple as colloidal silver -- most people only seemed to be aware of silver theosulphate (STS) - which is probably what Dutch Passion were using - and giberrellic acid, neither of which are exactly suitable for amateurs.

I even received a private message from an icmagger just recently saying how he was paid by two seedbanks for his knowledge of using colloidal silver for feminised seeds, so he said he was stunned when he saw my post ... (just as stunned as I was to hear he was paid for this simple method) :)

Fast forward to today in 2009 and it seems nearly every second seedbank is offering feminised seeds ... :)
Do they use this method? Who knows - none of the seed banks seem to divulge any of their tricks, but yes I'd assume they'd all either be using colloidal silver, or silver theosulphate. Possibly silver nitrate, and possibly gibberrelic acid, but not as likely.

krazycure & NBtrichgrower,
I'm not sure if straining the silver residue accomplishes too much (other than providing a more accurate PPM reading), because although there is residue it's still only in minimal proportions to the electrically-suspended silver particles (the actual colloid), so the resulting strained colloid will be purer, but not stronger. But whether straining is required or not it definitely shouldn't be counter-productive in any way, and actually the plants will probably prefer having less residue on their leaves as it'll allow for easier photosynthesis, so I'll update my original post with a mention of that. :)

i have to give it to you bro i thought this was a joke untill few days ago that i noticed the sacks forming..i didnt check ppm levels but did read that color water was do to small silver particals forming bigger so that gives the water yellow color or dark grayish coloring..i could see the silver shine on leaves as i kept applian..

one question?i seen someone post that the pollen dont have a long shelf live.what about if its kept in a cool place and low humidity?

It's certainly no joke, these tricks have been known in botanical circles for many years, it's just taken a while for them to become more common knowledge in cannabis circles.

I posted this thread about a 1982 university paper from India discussing in great detail how to use silver to feminise cannabis specifically.

In regards to pollen storage simply do a forum title search here, there's literally dozens of threads on the subject :)
